Does mostly what I'd hoped! I had some pretty bad dry/flaky skin that followed my hairline above my forehead, and was also present under/around my sideburns. After about 2 weeks of using this shampoo (6-8 uses), those problem areas had disappeared, and have stayed gone as I've continued to use it. However, I had two other problem areas with flaky skin that this shampoo has not helped - my forehead, and eyebrows. I'd found reviews of this product and others where people discussed rubbing the shampoo into their eyebrows and other flaky areas but I've personally not had any success doing that. After further research, I discovered that not all skin on your body is the same... The ingredients in this product and others like it are specifically designed for your hair and skin on the scalp, and skin on other places like your forehead and eyebrows don't react and/or absorb those necessary ingredients the same way the scalp does, hence it not being as effective (for everyone). With that said, this product worked 100% for my dry/flaky scalp, hairline and sideburns but not the forehead or eyebrows. I'll have to find something else for those areas... Also, the smell is not as bad as some make it out to be. It definitely isn't your typical flowery, fruity smelling shampoo but it's not bad. Not sure why Head and Shoulders couldn't make it smell fruity though... Either way, 5/5 stars!

Wonderful product. I have seborrheic dermatitis and saw a dermatologist a few years back. Instead of seeing the dermatologist regularly, I decided to try this and it is a miracle worker! Before, I'd itch my head for a half hour and leave sores all over my scalp. Now, I never scratch and have been using it for a couple months. Best of luck to you and God bless :)

This stuff is a miracle worker. I’ve had dandruff for years and tried absolute EVERYTHING. Nothing worked! I was honestly getting discouraged and ready to give up. Then I tried this. I’ve been using it for just a few weeks and my dandruff is gone. There’s not a single trace of flakes - if you’re feeling discouraged, give this stuff a try! You won’t regret it!

I had very dry and flaky scalp and face. Visited my dermatologist for 6 months overall checkup and he suggested H&S Clinical Strength. I was unable to find it at my local stores so ordered from Amazon. The doctor said to apply it to head and face and then let it sit for 3-5 minutes before rinsing. This I did and have noticed a major improvement! By chance, my greyhound recently began losing her hair in clumps -- something she has never done. The vet couldn't find any underlying medical problem so she suggested shampooing with Selsun Blue. I mentioned that my derma doc recommended H&S Clinical Strength for my problems and wondered if that might be appropriate for my dog. She did some checking and said that it would be fine, and to let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing. I did and followed that with a good brushing. It really worked and her coat is wonderful again. It's my new go to shampoo!

For well over a year now I have suffered from what I thought was just bad dandruff. I couldn't wear dark colors or run my hands through my hair, especially around the top of my ears or I would have large patches of dead skin all over my skin. Attractive I know! =/ My hair dresser mentioned getting a dandruff shampoo but I went through 2 regular bottles with no luck. Once my scalp started getting really itchy I realized I probably had something more serious than dandruff. So after scouring the internet like I do for all of my medical advice ;) I found an article about Seborrheic dermatitis and how this shampoo had helped tremendously. I figured I had the same thing as my symptoms were the same so I gave this a shot. Within 2 weeks of using this 3x week all of my dry patches went away. I no longer have an itchy scalp and I can finally run my fingers through my hair again without the fear of snow showers on my shoulders. If you have stubborn dandruff I would HIGHLY recommend this. I will be using it from now on. Oh and it makes my hair nice and soft too and the smell is definitely not over powering.

For anybody with a listed skin condition this is an excellent product. My personal issue is seboraric Derm. It has cut down my flakes easily by 85 to 90 percent and i only use it an.average of twice a.week. I am a sold believer. The smell is that bad and is way better than sulfur shampoos. Small price for no flakes. For my sensitive skin it's a little strong so I don't let it get on my skin.

This is even more effective than the prescription shampoo. I don’t have to combat extreme dryness with Head n Shoulders like I did with the Rx - and has kept dandruff at bay for over a year!

awesome shampoo, noticed a definite decrease in dandruff. It did not dry my hair, noticed best results when used 2-3x a week and used alcohol free gels for my hair.

Having Seborrheic Dermatitis on your head is pretty embarrassing. It is flaring up right now due to extreme stress (but that’s another story). My dermatologist recommended it, and it is really working.

What a relief! I have severe seborrheic dermatitis, not dandruff. I let it go about a week longer than I should have. It's my first time with this condition, so I didn't recognize it right away. Anyway, I used this shampoo twice now, two days apart, and I can already feel a big difference. All of my head bumps are greatly reduced - most of them are already gone. The itching has been reduced by at least half. At this rate, I look forward to completely eliminating my problem within the next week or two. I was actually going to wait until that time to submit my review. But, after only two uses, I am so convinced this was the right move for me, I wanted to get that information out there as soon as possible. Just so you know, their "Clinical Solutions" formulas are a LOT more expensive per ounce, and have the exact same 1% concentrate of the ONLY active ingredient - selenium sulphide - that this product has. You decide which is right for you. Personally, I belive that whole line is for people who insist to spend the most to get "the best." In this case, this "Clinical Strength" formula is all you really need.
