The Thermometer works but it says it should take 4-6 ...

The Thermometer works but it says it should take 4-6 seconds to read the temp. However we always have to leave it in the meat much longer and the temperature slowly creeps up 1 to 2 degrees a second, usually for about 20-30 seconds. I am never sure if the meat is done or not or and usually end up over cooking as a result of the slow reading. We have another instant read thermometer that works much quicker that we owned before this one. Update: The company reached out to me and determined there was likely something wrong with the thermometer and quickly shipped me a replacement. The replacement works great and reads temperatures much quicker. Great service.

Three Stars

When I first received this product it would not work properly. And so I wrote a 3 star review. Megan at StarTop immediately sent me a e-mail expressing concern. She offered to replace or refund my purchase. I accepted to receive a replacement which I received in a mater of a few days. I have since used this product and am totally happy with the quality and performance. It is amazingly fast and efficient . I would certainly recommend it. Quality, Performance, Price. cant beat it!!!! Great Company

Easy to use and find

I wanted to replace an older digital thermometer when I became suspect of its accuracy. Turns out it was accurate, but I like this Harbor Instant one so much better! It is more compact and doesn't have a random probe that gets in the way during storage. It's easy to read, which is good so that I don't need to find my glasses to use it. And it's easy to find - not only is it red so it won't get lost in a drawer, but with the magnet, I can hang it on the refrigerator door or the range hood and have it easily accessible. Oh, and it registers a lot faster than my older thermometer. So far, no complaints.

Triple A for customer service

We all know that things can go wrong sometimes. It's not the things that work that tell us about a company , it's the customer service that we receive . When I received my first one it wouldn't come on . I tried different batteries I tried turning the batteries around . Nothing worked . These people contacted me before I even have a problem . When I did receive my thermometer , and it wouldn't come on I notified them right away . They were very helpful , gave me some ideas as to what to try , but assured me from the start of the conversation that if it didn't work they would replace it . They were very nice and replaced it. My second one works like a charm .

Nice cooking tool!

I got it as my third thermometer at a deal. Still works pretty well, 5stars deserves. I can make sure my each meal is exactly perfect! No overcook again! I like to make espresso coffee with 1 small cup milk at morning, with some toast bread, sandwiches. it does good help for my breakfast. I can get the exact coffee temperature with thermometer. Quick and accurate! Specially, magnet design on its back is great!!! that I used to put in right on the side of my fridge, easy to store, easy find it. Last weekend, I spent a BBQ day with my friend George, and we used it as well as the same. This item really does a good help to check grill meat’s temp. George was so glad to use it, even wanted to check everything that we cook. He never uses the tool before, and he said he is enjoy it easily to know the temp at any time. Maybe I should buy a new Habor for him.

Great Cooking Thermometer

The Habor Cooking Thermometer works great and I like how the thermometer prob folds on the side of the digital handle. Comparing this brand and style which in my opinion, is much better than the Good Cook Thermometer, which has to be stored in a drawer or on a hook and the Good Cook has a cover that has to be removed to expose the prob. which could get misplaced, etc. The Good Cook is more awkward to use Another great feature of the Habor, is that it has a magnetic on backside of device, which makes it really convenient to access when needing to temp. my foods. I would recommend this product to all for their food safety and cooking device needs.

60% as good at 14% of the price

Good choice of you can't spend $75 for a real Thermapen, It is less accurate +/- 3 degrees and takes about 3 times longer to respond/adjust. but is still an economical and valuable kitchen tool. EDIT 4/13/17 StarTop was concerned about my 3-star experience and sent me a replacement. It is different but it is accurate and more responsive than the CP050 at about the same price. Works Great

I needed an instant read Thermometer. After some research, bought this one. Works great. Solid feel....good sized probe. Has on-off button. Highly recommend this product if you need instant thermometer.

A good buy.

So far I'm happy with my purchase. It sticks to the side of my fridge and stays put. The digital thermometer reads within a few seconds and I have no doubt about it's accuracy. As a bonus I used it to measure the output temperature of my central air conditioning and it seemed as accurate as an analog thermometer.
