Deserves a spot in the tool shed!
An amazing tool that probably should cost more than it does. It will pay for itself in the first hour of use. Honestly, if you install and tension the chain properly, adding bar oil - it cuts through limbs very quickly. Anybody that says it doesn't cut undoubtedly installed the chain backwards. I ended up buying the red model, only because I think it increases visibility when left on the ground partly obscured by green, leafy branches that have been cut down. I also set the angle to about 20 degrees and used that for everything. I'm glad to have bought the adjustable angle version. I didn't bother trying to use the handle to secure the extension cord connection. I just tied a simple overhand knot and the extension cord was secure. I used a 100' 14 gauge cord and it ran perfectly. If I needed to go further than that, I would use my 12 gauge cord. My only mildly negative comments - 1. The oil reservoir is tiny and fills up very quickly making a mess. I haven't used it enough to know how frequently it needs to be refilled. A small funnel is useful. 2. Surprisingly heavy and difficult to handle when the pole is extended. I don't think smaller folks without a lot of upper body strength should use this extended. I don't mean to sound preachy but safety is a real concern if you don't have any experience with a chainsaw. For example cutting the compression side of a limb first, then cutting the tension side to avoid binding the bar into a cut. Don't use the tip of the bar to avoid kick back. Be extra careful of cut limbs falling or cartwheeling your way. I have to say that not everybody should be using this or any chainsaw. Just because it's electric doesn't mean the chain doesn't need to be tensioned or sharpened. Get some experienced help while cutting and read the manual first is a great idea! BTW - I will definitely continue using my conventional gas chainsaw to cut up cut limbs or to cut down trees. I don't think this tool is all that convenient for making quick cuts to downed limbs. It's a great tool and I heartily recommend it. Good luck and good cutting!

This little chain saw is pretty cool. I rented a 40 foot boom to fix my trees after Hurricane Irma ravaged my big oaks and bought htis a s aback to my chain saw. Ended up using it more than my chainsaw as most busted hanging limbs known as widow makers were just out of reach. It ran great alll day. Cuts really good. Only drawback is its a little heavy but I'm 62 and was able to use it over my head all day long for 2 days so not unbearable. That and you have to watch the bar oil as it uses alot of bar oil but all in all I highly recommend it.

Could have given this 6 stars!
I don't write too many reviews but I thought this product deserved one, plus I have a tip that may save you time. First, this company has it going!! The product, while inexpensive, is really well designed and produced. The key parts are well labeled and very intuitive. Even their registration page is well designed and simple to complete. They include a bright yellow card with the model number and S/N so its easy to find without having to get up from your computer while registering and try to find it somewhere on the unit. They deserve 5 stars just for the obvious thought they put into the product & packaging. The 27 momth warranty gave me comfort in buying a product that I knew going in, had to be inexpensively produced, based on it's suggested and selling retail prices. If I was disappointed in anything, it's that the catch that is supposed to hold your extension cord in the handle so it doesn't keep disconnecting. It's a bit too big for a standard orange extension cord. The other disappointment, AND MY TIP, while the instructions are pretty darn good and easy to follow, they have a short video on YOUTUBE, that, had I watched prior to trying to get the chain on, would have saved me about an hour of trying to adjust the tension so it wouldn't fall off. Simply type the model number into YOUTUBE and you'll find the video. https://youtu.be/rPBQcQdOdWk Sun Joe, if you're reading this, a bright card in the box with that info would have given me the desire to give you 6 stars! Used it for several hours on the first day. Found the bar & chain oil doesn't need to be refilled as quick as others have reported, but definitely keep an eye on it. Unlike more expensive units, there is a plastic reservoir window that you can always see how much you have left! Bravo!

The right tool for high branches.
After first use I am quite impressed. I needed it for the palm fronds which are quite high. I still needed a ladder, but without the saw I would need to call a service to cut them down. I like the angeled head to cut down on them with more leverage. For those complaining about the weight... I'm not sure what you expected. It's a long pole with a saw on the end, there will be weight. A more powerful saw will be even heavier. The pole is very sturdy and works fine at full extension. If it is too heavy for you, then ask your kids to lift it for you (a 6 year old could handle it). I love the low profile to get in to make cuts from either side, which also wouldn't be possible with a larger saw. This is all the power you will need to cut high branches. If you are using it to cut down a whole tree, then this is the wrong tool. Only negative: The sawdust falls down directly onto my face. However, I don't think there is much that any saw can do to prevent that from happening.

Much better than expected
I have been using chainsaws for decades. I happen to purchase this because I want to trim some broken off branches on the Pinetree‘s that’s around my yard. As luck would have it approached it one day prior to a huge snowstorm here in New England that shattered large pine tree in my front yard. It fell on top of a magnolia tree causing a huge mess. Are used pulsar pole saw to trim the broken branches on both of the trees as well as cut up other pine bows that are falling off around the yard. I was surprised how quickly it would cut through relatively large branches . Frankly I prefer that over using a regular chainsaw it was almost as fast to cut through branches up to 5 inches in diameter as a regular saw but given I did not have to start the song each time it was in fact quicker. Not only was I able to cut through branches but the saw was surprisingly able to cut through the trunk of a 12” fallen pine. I had to cut from Both sides but the saw did not seemed taxed by the effort. So it has far more power than I expected.

Excellent for the price.
I had been experimenting with how to trim a no. of large oak limbs that were between eight and twelve feet off the ground with my chain saw for several years and could not find anyway that was really safe. I purchased this unit and in less than three hours I trimmed about 25 branches that I could not safety cut with the chain saw. With the pivot head, you can easily undercut a limb before cutting it through from the top----and stand on the ground out of the way of the falling limb while doing it. The unit worked very well. It is the best money I have spent on a simple tool in a long time.

Awesome. This is an excellent tool
Awesome. This is an excellent tool. Well engineered . Functioned perfectly. Cutting branches like butter. Even the color well picked-- florescent yellow . The design of the telescopic handle will put other pole cutter to shame . I love this tool.

A very useful tool
A mighty little beast! I was greatly surprised by how strong this thing is and what a good job it did. I cut down several 6 inch branches, and it did a nice job on all of them. This is NOT a full size chain saw, but the chain is sharp and it cuts reasonably quickly and was through the branches in good order. I got this for $52 in early winter, thinking that for $52 even if it only lasts once. My buddy and I recently used it to take down a big tree. We used this only for the smaller branches (6 inches in diameter or less), and it did a fantastic job. When we were finished I thought to myself, "I can't believe a $52 tool did that!" Note that we used this to take down branches, but did not use it to saw up wood on the ground. I think you have to realize that this is NOT a heavy duty tool, but if used with limitations it does very well. A word of caution: the bar and chain lube reservoir only holds a SMALL amount of lube, only 2oz. Literally. Also, the internal pipe is rather narrow. Get the bar and chain lube warm to make it flow better (leave it out in the sun for an hour or bring the jug inside and leave it over a register for an hour) and then add a tiny little bit at a time. Go very slowly and I suggest you do this over a trashcan. Spilled bar and chain lube makes a heck of a mess. DAMHIKT. A manual pole saw can do a lot of what this does, but this does it faster and easier, and lets you make a neater close to the tree final cut. This tool is a luxury, but a very nice one.

Does the Job.
There is not much to review at this time, other than it does the job remarkably well. I have a tree that grows over the fence just to hit my roof when it gets windy, given wind speeds, high enough to take the shingles off, I needed something to trim the branches back to a size where they can't hit my roof. The branches are high enough to require a ladder (I do have one and a hand saw) but have a problem with Vertigo, so I rather not put up the ladder in the clear and get later a medical bill that far exceeds the cost of this device. With the extendable pole, it is a breeze to cut the branches higher up and I am on the ground, much less of a distance, just in case. The top heavy saw, has enough weight to cut through with ease, no pressure from your end of the pole required. I did cut a few branches that had a diameter of around 1.5" - 2", no problem. It is a great saw for small to medium and hard to reach, jobs....
