It's actually less expensive to change out the whole carburetor than to install the fiddly bits of a carburetor rebuild kit. This unit is nice in that it includes the gas line, primer line, hose clips, the primer bulb and a nice shutoff valve for under the gas tank, all for fourteen bucks. So, not a bad deal. I preferred using "real" screw-type clamps rather than the wire ones furnished, but I expect those supplied would work well enough. Installing this carburetor is pretty straightforward, if you take your time and make sure to note which holes the cable ends fit in. The only tricky bit is threading the new fuel line between the gas tank on the right side and the carb on the left. Hint: go to YouTube and watch how you can join the ends of the old and new hoses and push/pull the new line through by pulling on the old one. Saves a lot of fiddly work and frustration. The machine was getting to be a hard starter and didn't want to run without some choke on. Now? Starts on the first pull. So, mission accomplished.

I have ordered several carburetors for this company and all have worked and run great. This is all short term none have been on over a years so we'll see about how long they work great. Needed to update, used the snow blower this week and had to adjust the carburetor a little no big deal but then it started to leak gas. Took it off and the gasket was pulled loose and it looked way to big so I replaced it with the one out of the old carburetor and everything seems great again. Finished my job without having to do any other repairs.

This carburetor worked great at first, then within months, the needle valve or float assembly stopped working. Gasoline fills the bowl, but is not shut off when the float should rise and close the needle valve. Gasoline then fills the bowl and overflows out of the carburetor until tank is empty. Update 5/29/2019 - Company has agreed to replace free off charge. Working in manufacturing, I understand how things can sometimes go wrong. A good company will stand behind the product. That looks to be the case here. Thanks!

My in-laws Ariens snowblower 520e would not start after 3 years of non-use with a full tank of old fuel. Go figure ! I emptied the fuel tank, purged the fuel line and the old float bowl. Still no start. I then ordered this. This was a perfect match. I only used the carb from this. and not the other parts. As others have stated, the fuel inlet is not a perfect angle, BUT you can fix this. Just take an open end wrench, place it on the SQUARE end of the fuel inlet part and twist the inlet to the location/direction you need, so no need for a kinked fuel line. When attaching the carb to the engine make sure to tighten evenly to compress the gasket slightly for no air leaks. Gasket tack works great too. It started right up with no problem.. A 1 pull and it starts Ariens snowblower is back in business. The purr of a snowblower in Wisconsin in January. "Let it snow"

I was recently asked to help repair a snowblower that my sister inherited from my dad many years ago. The snow blower is from the early 90's, and hasn't seem much in the way of maintenance over the years. From what I can figure, it has sat at least a couple of years with old gas in it. The factory carb was shot and not worth rebuilding. For just a few bucks more then a rebuild kit, I picked up this new carburetor. I just installed it tonight, it was an exact match. Once installed, I primed with three pumps, and the old engine fired right up on the first pull! It needed just a little adjustment for the idle, but after that it's perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything more. It's nice that the kit includes a new primer pump, hose and fuel filter as well as the carb and gasket. Very happy! Easy fix.

I bolted this new carburetor on my snow blower, pressed the primer 5 or 6 times and the motor fired right up on the first pull. It didn't even need any adjustments to be running perfectly. The only issue that I encountered was trying to bolt on the air filter. For some reason the existing 5mm screws the held the filter to my old carburetor would not screw all the way into this new carb. It felt like the threads didn't match up right. To fix it, I just screwed a 5mm tap in first and then put the screws in. After retapping, everything fit perfectly.

Made my old Craftsman snowblower run like new. I had replaced the carb a year or two back, but it never ran right. The other carb I bought was slightly different that this one as it had an adjustment screw on the bottom. This one works much better and is more like the original that came on the snowblower. It starts on first pull now. Great investment. Beware though, if you don't run you small engines dry and drain the carb on it, you will continue to have issues. The ethanol in the gas is the issue most of the time. It breaks down and clogs the small passages in the carb and causes issues with surging and hard starting. Dump your gas can into your car after 6 months and make sure you put stabilizer in the gas can as soon as you come home from the gas station. That should keep it running well.

Really worked well for my HS50 Snow Blower, just moved over linkages to the new carb, started it adjusted the linkages to lower the idle and adjusted the choke and it starts every time! Install hint, take pictures of linkages and locations of holes before removal, it makes for an easier swap!

Removed the old carb, hoses, and primer button.Cleaned the surfaces of the carb adapter, installed the carb, hoses and button. Primed the button 6 times, pulled the recoil rope, fired right up. Quick carb jet adjustment was out blowing snow in about 20 minutes. Local small engine shop was wanting $118.00 for the same looking kit, and said the could install it for another $80.00. I told them, I will find another one somewhere. The said that there hard to install and wont run right. Hahaha. I am a mechanic by trade, and walked out.

Rather than rebuild the old carb I purchased this new. It comes with all the trimmings. The only issue I had with the unit is the two tapped holes on the carb were metric. Either you have to replace the screws with new metric screws or tap them out to fit the english threaded screws. In my case I wanted to keep everything as it was built so I ran a 10/32 tap through the holes. Other than that this carb is a super good value.
