This violin over all for the price was fantastic...HOWEVER...Remember that you ARE buying a violin that will be shipped to you IN a TRUCK...where it will be tossed about and the tunning pegs and the strings will probably come undone... Now I already play a ukulele and a mandolin and a guitar so for me to put the tuning pegs and strings back on was no big deal. But for someone who has never owned an instrument before they will need someone who can help them to make sure it works...I would ask a friend or relative to help you if you are going to buy this because if you take this violin to a music shop they are going to whine the whole time and try to tell you it’s a bad violin and you shouldn’t have bought it blah blah blah... It’s a good violin, especially for a beginner, comes with great accessories but I would replace the rosin with a better quality rosin like hill it will sound better. Also, I found that the tunning pegs were better after I tapped them (lightly!) with a hammer to keep them in tighter...this greatly helped with the tunning process. I’m still giving this product five stars because it’s price means that it is possible for someone on a strict budget can still afford a violin where as before it would have been impossible especially as the next cheapest violins can go for $600 or more...

Beautiful violin the sound is fantastic and beautiful, the color is good no issues my daughter is so happy and love it I will buy from then again great seller and perfect product thank you for make my life easy.

I absolutely love this violin kit. When it came nothing was out of place or broken, and all I had to do was tune the strings and rosin the bow. At first it was hard to tune, but the more I did it the easier it was (this has more to do with how you tune it than the actual violin itself). The bow is excellent quality, and it sounds great. The only thing that wasn't perfect were the strings, but I expected that (after all it's only $70). I replaced the strings with much higher quality ones, but other than that, for a $70 violin, or any violin, it sounds very good! I would definitely recommend buying if you're wanting to learn the violin, or get a good-sounding, cheap one. : )

Incredible value for what this setup costs. I purchased this violin for fun, and it delivers. Disclaimer: almost all violin teachers will scoff at a violin at this price point. The only positive voice in favor of this was a youtube teacher that goes by "the online violin and piano teacher". Check out her videos. She has alot of great information out there. The violin needed some adjusting right out of the box; I have extensive experience working on instruments, so I knew how to adjust the bridge, and tune it using the pegs and the fine tuners. The only negative I have to say is that the fingerboard is painted in a fairly crude manner. At this price, I dont expect a beautiful solid black ebony fingerboard, but i could have done without the gloopy paint job. I was able to clean most of the sloppy parts up with a sharp knife, but the was a huge dried paint blob between the two middle strings. None of this effects playability though. Just me being picky.

For all future buyers with no experience or knowledge of violins, this needs to be said because many of these instruments have been sent back with nothing wrong with them. Do more research than just reading reviews. Ive seen dozens of reviews complaining about the finish on the neck. The neck normally is not finished, and hasn't been for centuries. The finish can cause your fingers to not slide, causing sour notes due to poor fingering. I've also seen claims of the violin being broken on arrival because the bridge had fallen in transport. The bridge is not fixed to the instrument like on a guitar. String tension holds it to the violin. If the strings are loosened or if the bridge tilts forward, the bridge will fall. It just needs to be set back up between the notches in the f-holes. The tuner has 4 modes on it: guitar, bass, violin, and cello. When tuning the violin for the first time, be certain to set it to violin or you will likely break a string. And finally, the tuning pegs. Unlike a guitar that uses a set of gears in the tuning machines, the tuning pegs on a violin are tapered and held in place solely by friction. When tuning, you must push in when you turn the pegs to seat the taper or they will slip and not retain tension on the string. Please future buyers, do your homework so you wont be disappointed or believe something is wrong with what you've bought when it is exactly as it should be. With that said, 100% satisfied with my purchase. Tuner worked fine, already playing my first notes within an hour of unboxing.

I play instruments. I play the cello, I know acoustic bass, and I play the piano a little and I wanted to learn the violin. I wanted a violin that I could learn off of and wasn’t too expensive and I found this kit and I really like it. The violin isn’t the best but if you are just starting out it is a good price for what you are receiving. It came with everything it promised and it is a good setup for a beginner. The bridge most likely will not be set whenever you get the package but that was easy enough to fix. The tuning wasn’t too bad. However, the instrument does seem to get just slightly out of tune when I take it back out of the case. The bow is not great, I would recommend a better one but this is ok if you just want to learn the violin. The shoulder rest was the one thing I had a problem with. It is definitely not the a high quality one and I struggled with it to find out where it would stay in, but it is usable. It came with everything it promised (the extra strings, rosin, and even an extra bridge are in a pocket on the inside of the case) and the tuner even came with its own battery. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that is just starting but also recommend you buy finger tapes and another shoulder rest if you prefer.

I'm an adult that wanted to start learning violin for the first time. This violin is beautiful, all-wood,and everything came as expected. It's not a very high quality violin, but it is excellent for it's price point. The case is great, the tuner is ok, not the best design but adequate and nice that they included it in this kit. Great beginner violin set.

I bought it as a wall decoration for my classroom. My roommate and I are both classically trained, and our consensus is that this is NOT BAD for a $66 violin. It's definitely a beginner's instrument that will maybe work for the first year of playing. The bow is TERRIBLE though; don't even bother. If you get this, take it to a violin shop to get adjusted.

I love this violin package, it came with everything it promised and I had no problem putting the bridge on, or tightening the strings. I figured out the tuner easily. It's great for a beginner like me. I'm going to go practice now as a matter of fact!

Fantastic violin at this price! Everything is pre-assembled yet you obviously need to adjust the string tension as it goes off during the shipment. The rosin is reasonably usable yet the shoulder rest is a pretty cheap one and not very comfortable. The book is overly simple for someone with some previous experience. But the violin set is definitely worth the price, absolutely recommand!!!
