Very Lightweight, easy pre-wound line to snap on (my favorite feature), and does a super job on tall and short growth, very powerful. After battling with a Craftsman for a year, I'm in heaven. I'm in my late 60s and its so lightweight.

I got this to replace a trimmer that I thought would put me in the grave from trying to untangle the line. This trimmer has auto feed... and I don't need to tap or hammer it on the ground to release the line.... It seems to really whirl along through the weeds and reedy grasses. The guard seems good, too. I haven't massacred my shins and legs yet. All in all, I am impressed with this trimmer. If only it would run itself.... and quit whacking my ferns by mistake... or is that operator error?

I just love it ,it really cuts my high grass and weed down just as good as the gas weed eater did I love it more because now no gas station trips, what I don't like it that I have to have lots of electric cords hooked up to use ,but it out ways going to gas stations and adding oil to gas too!! love it, My son has electric and I laughed when he used his, now he was so right,,,, smarter than me I guess, hahaaa.Dino in sunny Miami.

Wow! I bought this expecting a cheaply made trimmer, but this is a really well constructed, tough tool. A little heavier than my last "cheap" trimmer but very well made & easy to handle. A doddle to put together & worked great right out of the box. Came with a 0.65 line that made very short work of a tough, large patch of weeds in our side yard, this thing is a beast compared to my last trimmer, well worth the $40. Very pleased with this purchase!!

I have a very small yard about 5 feet wide and 30 foot long. My last weed eater lasted me 10 years and wish it would have died sooner cause this unit is twice as powerful as my old one around same price and I cut my lawn in half the time and replacing the cord seem really easier but with my small lawn shouldn't have to do for a while. Only issue, is the electrically plug on the unit because it is two prong and housing around prongs is very small. My extension cord end would not fit into because to big. Luckily had a two to three prong adapter and plug it end and work fine.

Bought this trimmer to replace the cheaper Black and Decker model under this one that died at a young age I have a 20v cordless B&D trimmer with the same auto feed head that has never failed to feed in over 2 years of tough use. This electric model works like a champ and powers through everything I've thrown at it within reason. 100% satisfied with delivery, price and product.

This one got some power! Better than I expected. I purchased this weed eater because my battery operated weed eater was too heavy for me, I wanted something lighter so my arms aren’t killing me at the end of the day. We have a large yard and having a weed eater is a must along the perimeter. My husband takes care is the monster weeds with his “monster” weed eater and I use this one for the rest. When he tried it out, even he says that it got some torque. It comes with .65 string but when I used up that string, I replaced it with .85 and it’s even better. I just made sure that the string goes through the exit hole easily as to not impede the auto advance process. Way cheaper to wrap your own strings than buying the pre-wrapped ones. This is a great buy for the price, I highly recommend it.

I'm elderly & making an attempt to do edging myself to save money. This thing can really cut - I've even used it to clear out a small open concrete drainage line from the fence line to the end of the lawn at the street. Turned it sideways & it just dug a hole in the dirt clogging the line. Walked back and forth lengthwise down the line a few times & it cleared a good drain line down the center. Figure I can do it every time I edge & eventually clear it all out. Tickled me silly :-). The guide lets me make clean edges on the lawn by the driveway/sidewalk. I've even done some light hedge clipping with this thing. Emphasis on the light part...just a few branches sticking out in the walkway from an Azalea bush.

I love this weed eater! I purchased this and a Black and Decker electric mower that were delivered on the same day. The mower was garbage and couldn't even be used, but my lawn had to be cut and couldn't wait. So, I plugged this baby in and used it to cut both my front and back yards (which are not massive, but they are fairly big). The grass was wet and approximately 3 foot high (and quite thick). It took 3 spools of string, but the lawn looked amazing when I was done. It cut so well and so powerfully that it only took 2 hours to finish both. Here's how easy it is to use: I have dystonia and limited use of my left arm, shoulder, and leg because of it. It's so light weight that I had no trouble using it. It's extremely easy to control and to replace the string. It's as powerful as a gas powered weed eater, but lighter than a bag a trash being taken out of the house. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.

It arrived this morning. I trimmed for a half hour. Not only was it light, quiet, handy...it was fun. I've had a Stihl gas trimmer with an after market blade that will cut small trees and brush. Grass, too, but it is overkill. This ST8600 perfect for weeds in the garden, around trees, etc. On the down side: it does wear on the arms after a while. Switching hands helps and keeping elbows close to the body. Thought about the battery version since I have a battery already for the cordless B&D drill. Glad I didn't. Shoulda got one years ago.
