I have a 8.5 lb Chihuahua. This was absolutely perfect for her. We took it camping amd also use it in the park when we go to bbqs. It doesn't get caught up in her and its light enough to not bother her at all.

I use this so my 8-pound yorkie can explore the yard without me right in his tail. (Our fence isn’t built yet and he likes to visit the neighbors!) it connects easily to a stake (sold separately) and give him a good large SAFE circle to play in. It’s easy to move the stake and cable to a different part of the yard and he has a new space. I connect it to his harness easily and it’s not heavy so it doesn’t weigh him down. I am able to watch him while I sit on the porch or barbecue, read, whatever. He likes to be with us outside, potty, chase birds, bugs, etc. I never leave him unattended, however.

We have owned MANY tie outs for our big and little pooches over the years. The last one got eaten by the mower, as happens with teenagers, so we quick ordered this one. My miniature schnauzer likes this one so much more - it is pliable and "softer" (if that makes sense) than the traditional ones. It feels almost like plastic (yes I realize the outside IS actually plastic) but the wire inside is not rigid or stiff...it is light but sturdy. We will definitely be using this one again...if the dreaded mower continues his rampage. I would recommend for a smaller dog - ours is about 16 lbs.

I wish I knew this existed sooner, and I feel like a bit of a jerk not knowing about it. I have a small, blind dog, so he always goes out on a lead in the front yard. Prior to this purchase, I was using a light weight rope attached to clip that I would put on my dog's collar. The problem was, that my dog circles a lot, like A LOT, outside, and the rope would always wind up around his back leg. I would have to unwind him like a top practically. But I was at a friends house and saw this type of lead and I thought - this has to be better. . . and it is. SO much better!! My little guy can circle his heart out and it does not wrap around his leg. This product is the best, I even bought a back up in case it ever breaks. Highly recommend!!!!

This cable is great!! I live in Minnesota, so I needed something that could be outside in the snow and ice and not break, rust, etc.. This surprisingly held up to multiple blizzards, snow, ice, and below -20°f weather. My dog goes out about 4 to 6 times a day but I leave the cable sitting outside of the door until she’s ready to go out. It’s super durable and great quality for the price. Satisfied with this purchase.

I have a miniature wiener dog and this is the perfect idea size for her to have somewhat free range outside the house. Well made, light weight, flexible and as described. Give a thumbs up if you found my review helpful. Thanks!

My dog is a chihuahua that weighs 8lbs. I bought 3 of these to allow her to run around the lengths of the yard. It used to get tangled a lot when I put the stake in the middle of the yard but since I put the stake at the far side of the yard, no tangles! She has tested the full lengths of it, yanking it pretty hard plenty of times and it’s always held her just fine. I think it’s a great product.

It was time to update my dogs tie out cable. I decided to go with a light weight one instead of the typically heavier ones. So far Trooper and Leia (my dogs) seem to really enjoy it. It gives them an extra 5 foot than the last tie out so that has them super excited. Now they can get to all kinds of new places to potty. The latch is smaller than some of the heavier tie outs which they appreciate not having to drag around all that extra weight. Overall the quality seems to be nice. Due to the lead being for up to 35lbs the metal cable is thinner and the latch is smaller which equals a lighter tie out. I have found that it doesn't get stuck around tufts of grass as easily since it's smaller it seems to pop off the grass tufts. The one main thing to me is the that portion that you push down on to open the latch needs to be big enough and easy to use which this one works just great.

I've only used this for a couple months. I was afraid the cable would be too thick and big for them to comfortable for them to get around with. Nope. This thing was tiny, soft, and light weight. Before I purchased, I contacted the company to see if they had the XS, but they said they didn't make that one anymore. Now that I've seen it in action, I see that an XS is not necessary because one of my dogs is about 4.5 lbs fat. So far, we heart this cable. :)

This is the ONLY tie out we use for our chihuahuas because every other one I bought would constantly tangle into a mess that just went into the garbage. They sometimes get a few knots that are easily removed but much better than any others I’ve tried. I leave mine outside in the weather 24/7 so eventually the ends rust but that’s on me.
