Exceeded expectations!
I had to replace an older BT headset adapter, which is no longer available, that eventually died. After eliminating most of the alternatives for one reason or another, based on reviews, I went with this one. It showed up 3 days earlier than I expected. From the pictures and possibly one review I was worried about how rugged the clip might be, but it turned out to seem very rugged -- in fact, the whole device seems quite rugged and solidly made. I use it with an Etymotic MC3, mostly for yard work, and a 5s iPhone. I can't tell any difference in the sound quality between a direct wired connection and the Bluetooth one (even the volume levels are almost indistinguishable!) I run it at full volume -- even though the Etymotic does a great job at noise isolation, the residual lawnmower noise can mask a very faint passage at lower levels. I mostly listen to orchestral, choral, or solo music. Mahler's 2nd symphony is a great test of a sound system and sounds superb through this device: from quiet solo passages to full organ, choir, low brass, tympani, all strings playing fortissimo, to soaring piccolos and sopranos it all sounds great. The battery lasted at least 7 hours. I don't know the greatest distance it'll work at, but it did work fine from the first floor to the basement, through a couple of walls and the flooring; 15 feet no problem. I've only had it a couple of days, so I can't comment on reliability yet. I haven't used it extensively for phone calls, but I did try one and the party at the other end said quality was fine; sounded OK at my end too. added 8/30: I forgot to mention I've tried activating Siri when using the APEKX and it worked fine. Addition. On 5/21/18 (after 9 months of use) I discovered the adapter had suddenly stopped working. (It had worked fine the day before) It wouldn’t turn on. Thinking maybe the battery was completely discharged I tried recharging it. The red “charging” light came on, but even after 3 hours of charging it still wouldn’t work. I contacted the supplier through the Amazon link to them and they gave me the discount code to order a new one at essentially no cost. All I had to pay was about $5 for shipping. (If I’d been a prime member that of course would have been $0.) It arrived today 5/25!

I would recommend this product. Just don't lose track of it. It is small.
This is the coolest little gadget I have used in a while. Small, and unassuming. I use this to turn my multi-platform headphones ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01J4ZTKQG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) into bluetooth headphones for my cell phone and Wow! I feared this little device wouldn't be able to drive the speakers but was pleasantly pleased when they not only worked but worked WELL. I didn't test if the mic worked but I think they do through this device. Battery life seems to be pretty good as well as I used this for more than half a day listening to YT vids. All the media buttons work too. Including the volume control.

Non-Bluetooth Device Can Now Work as Wireless!
This Bluetooth Transmitter/Receiver works flawlessly and the sound quality is very good. It's very similar to the Bluetooth Transmitter/Receiver offered by Taotronics but for only a fraction of the price. My 2014 BMW does not have Bluetooth streaming music capability from my iPhone 7, so I can only get this Bluetooth receiver to stream music from my phone. I didn't want to get the traditional 3.5mm Aux cable because it always causes loud static sound whenever the connection comes into contact with something. I also upgraded my Bose noise cancelling headphones to wireless by attaching this set on rx (receiver) mode to the left earpiece with a piece of hook and loop tape. It is so small and lightweight it isn't even noticeable when wearing them. Now I can watch movies on my tablet wire-free, and still have Bose sound. Build in battery last longer than 8 hours of music play time.

Superb bluetooth adapter to use any set of earbuds or send audio to anything with a cable
Great design. I've used several of these. Others work just as well, but this device has the perfect design, at least for me. I plug a set of earbuds into it and put it on my tee shirt, under my shirt. I easily memorized the button functions and positions and can tell the position of the device easily through touch, under my shirt. So I can raise/lower the volume, skip tracks, answer the phone, pause or start the audio without even looking at it. Actually, without anyone really knowing what I'm doing, other than touching my shoulder for some reason. In my case I can thus have noise isolation earbuds under my motorcycle helmet as a perfect hands-free and music system, linked by bluetooth to my safely stashed phone. Sound is superb, with pretty good earbuds though. Battery life is very good: I seem to have had it working for about 8 hours straight before needing to charge it again. On/off and pairing leds are standard green/blue codes. Charging cable is standard Android. Only negative thing I can say, which did not merit removing a star is that when a call comes in or ends there is a female voice indication for each which is quite loud and I can't find a way to set the volume lower for that. Brilliant opereation and functioning for the price.

I finally found my favorite wireless earbuds - my favorite wired earbuds connected to this BT receiver
I've tried several true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds. I primarily use them while mountain biking so only earbuds that can stay on/in my ears is a base requirement. Another requirement is I prefer TWS versus having a cable. Every pair I tried failed; they'd just stop working after a couple weeks to a few months. So, I thought I'd give this a try. So far it is doing what it's supposed to do. Here's my observations: - have used about 4 hours so far before charging, so I know there's at least that much battery - its small, really small, so it's very light; I clip it onto my helmet strap and don't notice that its there - despite being small, the buttons are large enough to easily find and press - the sound and volume exceed my expectations for a device so small and at this pricepoint - no dropout of signal/sound (my phone and this unit so far have been very close) - as an added bonus is has a mic, so it works well for hands-free talking too Even though I'm somewhat compromising using wired earbuds, I like this setup better than other wireless earbuds with a cable, because a cable has been an annoyance while biking. With this clipped to my helmet strap, the earbud cables aren't an annoyance (I have them bundled and tied with a twist tie). I tried this with both my mi-fi headphones and my high-end planar headphones. The latter takes a lot of power - this little receive drove them both nicely.

Works great, even outdoors in cold weather!
I bought this as an upgrade to a ski helmet audio system I built a while back. This small, cheap device did an excellent job of converting my once wired headphones in my ski helmet into Bluetooth. I finally got a chance to try it out last weekend, and it worked great. I was especially concerned about how the cold weather and snow might effect the device, but despite being mounted on an exterior strap of my helmet, I noticed no decrease in battery life and I was able to listen to music all day. The mic also worked well enough that I was able to answer calls and callers had no issues hearing me or understanding me despite the receiver being mounted near my ear. Overall, this product exceeded my expectations wildly, and I have no concerned for its durability if it was able to survive a full weekend of skiing.

Great for Motrcycles
This is cheap and simple to use for me. I use it while riding my motorcycle with a pair of plugphones. Works flawlessly with my ipod. I can hit the buttons even with my winter gloves. The volume buttons are a little tricky, but doable. Works great with summer gloves. I haven't touched my ipod in weeks! It's in my tank bag with a battery pack, and Overcast automatically downloads podcasts. The ipod is good about sinking to this even if the bluetooth died unexpectedly. Yea, I'm going to complain a little about battery life. I commute 40min to work every day, and without turning them off I get like... 3.5 days of use. IMHO I wouldn't mind it being a little bigger for longer life. Also, you cannot use it while charging. Grrrrr. Also, it begins to warn you about low battery literally 5 minutes before it dies. During which it interrupts your music a solid 5 seconds out of every minute to warn you about impending doom. I listen to podcasts, so this is super anoying.

Saved our Marriage!!
Lets just say that I am a bit hard of hearing. I usually watch TV in the den. We have a rocking audio sound system that all the components go through. Obviously I need to crank up the volume so I can hear it. Well it seems someone (hubby) is constantly yelling to turn down the volume. In walks this handy transmitter and problem is solved with my wireless headphones. This thing has great sound. I just wish the range were a bit longer than it is. This will push off any divorce for quite a while!

I can't believe I went so long without this
Please do yourself a favor and buy this. It lets you have the comfortable and tangle-free experience of Bluetooth earbuds/headphones without having to spend $100+ on a Bluetooth pair that has the sound quality of a $15 wired pair. I'm extremely obsessive about how my audio sounds so I'm quite fortunate to have discovered this item. I just clip it to my pocket while I'm lifting or cleaning the house and I don't even notice it. Considering my phone is an iPhone 7 with an extended battery case, it's quite nice to not have to have that thing in my pocket while I listen to music. Now I'm not sure if this is present in all Bluetooth devices, but there is a half-second or so of audio delay, so watching videos with this can be a bit jarring if you care about audio synchronization. Also, the product says this has a battery life of 7 hours. I actually got close to 9 hours of playback out of this, so I'm glad to see they aren't bullshotting the battery life. There's also hardly any bitrate degradation to speak of. I stream Spotify at 320kbps and notice absolutely no quality degradation. If you're streaming VBR or uncompressed iTunes audio, there will be some degradation, but to such an insignificant extent that you'd probably have to be in a sound-insulated room with some baller studio headphones to notice. I'm currently running my Philips SHE3590 through this thing with my OCD EQ setup and it sounds perfect. I love this thing. If you have a pair of earbuds or headphones that you really like, but either want wireless freedom or don't feel like buying a million converter cables for your new iPhone/Macbook, get this. Forget about the already-Bluetooth earbuds and headphones. This is far more worth the investment, especially for its price.

This is a great device that I use to enable my non Bluetooth ...
This is a great device that I use to enable my non Bluetooth devices to be able to transmit Bluetooth receiver device. I like that it's super easy to use and it's straightforward, it comes with a manual but I was able to figure out how to set it up fairly quickly. It charges up so no need to purchase batteries. There seems to be no issues with the range of the transmitted signal within my home.
