Small and Powerful - Happy with videos and stills

I ordered a different camera earlier this week for our upcoming vacation and was really disappointed with the quality. So I spent some time reviewing the other cameras on Amazon and decided to give it a chance. (It had some other great reviews on some photo sites.) It was delivered the next day and I immediately began testing it out. Key Learnings 1. Set up is pretty straight forward. Was up and running in minutes. 2. Tried both under water shots and above water shots with the waterproof case. WOW! Great photos and videos. My iPhone is my normal go to camera, but now I am going to be reaching for this guy anytime we are near water! I attached a few shots. 3. Love the accessories and the bag. Will be good for taking on trips. 4. Mobile App - downloaded the mobile App but had no luck connecting it to my camera. Was bummed that I couldn't get that up and running, but will continue to try soon and will update my review. The App isn't necessary. But it would have been nice if it worked as expected. All in all, this is a great camera. I am recommending it for people looking for an inexpensive and quality camera that will fit in your pocket.

The best deal on Amazon for an Action Camera.

This camera makes a really great Dash cam for the car. Go to settings, turn on Driving mode, and the camera will automatically start recording when a connected charger cable starts delivering power. It will automatically turn off 2 seconds after power is disconnected. It can also run without a battery, but if power us cut WHILE recording, it cannot save the video file, so I wouldn't recommend this, since a major crash would likely kill power to the engine, and then you have no footage of the guy who hit you. You can also choose whether or not to loop the footage, to avoid gobbling up SD card space. You can do 2 minute, 3 minute, or 5 minute loops. Or you can turn off the looping feature and just record it all, but you better have a really big SD card.I think if you catch an idiot being an idiot, you can press the shutter button to save that clip, then you can press again to resume the looping video capture. With that being said, I am really impressed with this camera so far. The value is really good. I've wanted a GoPro for a long time, but my life is not extreme enough to pay $400. But now I have a small vacation coming and $50 is well within my budget, even if it didn't come with a bundle pack of goodies. The 4K video is great, but I'm more interested in recording my dog in slow-motion. The Camera app works, but I had to tweak my phone settings to make it happen. If you find that the XDV app doesn't open the camera, make sure you turn off the feature in your phone that uses mobile data when wifi can't get online. That was my problem. But since that's a phone setting, not a camera setting, I don't blame the camera company. the product is great. The software is REALLY easy to use, and the only accessory I would recommend is a water-floaty so that if you drop it, it doesn't sink deeper than you can swim. I'm looking forward to using this camera A LOT when my vacation comes up.

What a great Bang for the Buck

We bought this camera for our Disney Cruise. I had read reviews and chose this one since the kids would be using it as well. What a great Bang for the Buck!! Easy to use and it kept its charge all day. We got great footage of our trip and I loved how we could switch modes very quickly. I could not imagine any better quality even with a go pro-plus-if I lost it- no big deal. This camera took GREAT pictures and video and we have our memories preserved! THANK YOU! EXCELLENT BUY! You cannot NOT go wrong for the price. I am glad we chose this camera! Everything we expected and MORE!

Don't Waste Money on a Gopro

Awesome little action camera. Uploading images/videos right off the sim card is also a breeze. It doesn't have the fish eye lens, so it takes "normal" shots if that is your preference. After a nightmare experience with customer service at Gopro due to one dying for no apparent reason and a second one I bought had constant software issues, I needed something else. After using a few of the "cheap" knockoff versions, I actually like this camera more than my GoPro even if they were the same price. The video is a hair lower in quality than my GoPro Hero 5 session, but is noticeable better at taking still shots, action shots, & underwater images/videos. This also comes with all a ton of free mounts that GoPro will charge you $100+ for.

Killer camera, and i won't even say it's worth the money..it's worth WAY more than what it costs.

Let me start by saying I paid full price, was not asked to give a review, and am receiving nothing in exchange for my review. I just wanted to share my thoughts about this camera and how happy I am with it. What can I say, other than this thing is astonishing. I'm SO glad I never spent hundreds on a go pro. I can't compare the two as I've never owned one, and this is my first little action camera, but the quality of the photos is amazing. I've attached a few photos to show what it can do, but i'm not going to share a video cause it appears that amazon compresses them down, and it would be doing a disservice to the company to show that kind of video quality. But the video quality is amazing. I've done several video's now in the water, both above and below the water and the quality is amazing. The camera itself fits in the palm of your hand with the waterproof case on. It comes with a nice carrying case with a handful of accessories, most of which I don't know what they do, as I'm still learning how to use it. I also have not noticed any issues with the audio quality and that was with it being in the waterproof case. It would sound even better out of the case where sound can more easily get through. One thing i want to point out is that the app that goes with the phone DOES work, it's just very finicky to get it working. Here's what I found that has worked for me. 1. Activate the wifi on your camera. 2. Go to the wifi settings on your phone and connect to it and enter the password. 3. turn your phone to airplane mode 4. turn on only the wifi on your phone and make sure it reconnects to the action cam. 5. Open the app on your phone, and you should see a list of wifi connections. Connect to the action cam. 6. It should go back to the main page and you should see what your camera sees on your phone. You can also download photos/video's from the camera straight to your phone.
