Fantastic!

This salt is fantastic! It cuts through ice and adds instant traction. We purchased as a safer option for our pups. This product works a lot better than the little blue bead type - which bounce and roll away. This product is applied more like sand, so it is placed where you want it! It will leave a faint reddish residue, almost a dusty clay color - but it washes/blows away on its own. We love this stuff!

Great for notoriously slippery steps

I live in the Pacific Northwest, and we don't get a lot of ice or snow, but my new house faces north, and the front steps are quickly becoming notorious for being slick, a problem the former owners tried to address with rubber treads. A light handful of this on the stairs every other evening, and we haven't had a problem since. I love that it's natural and pet safe, and it really is easy to see where I've already put it down. I'll definitely buy again.

Works Better Than Expected

Overall, a huge improvement over 'traditional' ice melters / salts. I have found this to be a improved product over what I typically use. Product dissolves fully on surfaces (leaving less to track into the house, garage, etc.) which leads me to believe the product is more effective. I wish it was available more places so that the price could be brought down a bit (as it is likely baked into the PRIME shipping) however, it is second to none as product that is pet and family safe and won't damage your surfaces. Great work, Redmond!

Wow! A Must Buy!!!!

This product is Amazing. the night before the snow storm I sprinkled a small amount on the sidewalk and driveway. We got about 7 inches of snow. I was able to shovel the snow quickly and it melted everything rapidly. I am very impressed with this ice melt. My neighbors on both sides asked what I used. There is a significant difference in our sidewalk and drive ways. 24 hours after the storm my driveway and sidewalk is completely clear, as if it didn't snow. I will definitely order more and stock up.

Excellent Product; Needs bigger bags

I always use something that will not poison our wildlife, but this is far & away the best. I particularly love the earthy bit left once it melts providing extra traction, like a brown mineral film. It means I don’t have to reapply so frequently keeping everyone safe and the price affordable. It would be convenient to offer larger bags.

Very effective and pet safe

This is the only pet safe ice melter I have found that really works well. Put it on the porch steps a few months ago and snow and ice still haven’t built up on steps again even through a very bad storm and really cold weather. It does a great job softening and melting ice and snow so you can clear it off. I’m also happy my pets can walk on it. It does have a reddish tint but that clears off easily. Some even got on the doorway carpet and it vacuumed up easily when dried.

Great Product!

Pet safe and works great, melts the ice/snow and keeps it off even through the end of a storm. I shoveled the night when it was still snowing a bit and there was no snow or ice the next day on all places applied and there was a 2-3 inch layer of snow/ice everywhere else.

The product is very good and I was happy to use when we just received 2 inches of snow. The only problem is that is leaves a brown stain on the concrete.

The Best Deicer

I was amazed how well this worked on our wooden steps. Within minutes it started working. Easy to walk on and kept me from slipping before it actually worked. We used another deicer in the driveway. It took a long time to work and never lasted. I tossed some of the Redmond deicer on top and again it worked within minutes. It spreads very easily, you don’t need a lot a couple of handfuls is all I used. I am a 60 + female and have smaller hands. We have total of 8 steps and 2 platforms to our porch. I used 6 handfuls to cover it they were covered with snow and ice. Within 2 hours they were starting to dry out. Within 4 hours they were totally dry. Will continue to use Redmond’s Ice Slicer. With the little amount needed I believe the 10 lb. will last an entire winter. Try it you won’t regret it. I live in the Chicago area and we have had plenty of snow and ice this winter!
