Works like a charm

I'm actually surprised but this product seems to work pretty well. It makes a few mistakes (put a ? in where the letter was obvious [e.g., really --> re?lly]; communicated "Winnie" where it said "Winnipeg"). But one or two mistakes in an entire paragraph? Not too bad. I had a little trouble getting it to work on my computer. So here are some tips: if you get it working on your iphone first, when you want to use it directly with your computer, must disconnect (close the app) on your iphone first. After I downloaded the software for my computer (a Mac), I had to re-start my computer in order for the connection to work. Once the connection was working, in order to scan into my word document program (I use NeoOffice) I click on the paper icon on the program, then go to my NeoOffice program and click on a document in there. Then it will scan the info directly into my document. This I love! But if I am not near my computer, I can scan the info directly into the IOS app and then email the scan to myself and copy and paste it into a document in NeoOffice. Also, in all this navigation process, their customer service has been absolutely awesome. After I initiated the inquiry, they answered all my questions and even emailed me for follow up! I am impressed.

Save time creating notes and outlines!

Just finished highlighting the key points from a whole chapter in the book I'm reading. Overall, I am very happy with this product - will make note taking much easier. It was also very easy to share it once I was done with the document (I uploaded it to my Dropbox directly from the app). I am using it with my Samsung Galaxy 6(Android), and it was working within 5 min of trying to get it setup. Very easy to use. I tried setting it up with an older Android tablet, but the app was not compatible (something to be aware of if you have an older Android!). Things to get used to: - I noticed that it seems to scan best when you try to be smooth and scan faster rather than slower (as the tips suggest). But when you get the technique down, it really does a nice job recognizing the correct letters. - I sometimes noticed the first or last words being left out of lines that I scanned. Apparently I need to scan a few spaces in front of the line, then keep going past the last word in the line a little too. - It doesn't scan apostrophes very well (it usually just leaves them out) - When a line ends in a hyphen (to designate the middle of a word), it usually just puts a space between the first half of the word and the second half of the word (requiring you to go back manually and delete that space). - There is a limit to how big of font it will scan (then it just starts to scans in a funny way). Some chapter titles were hard to scan, but you won't have problems with normal text. A possible area of improvement (it'd be great if the developer notes this!): - As another reviewer noted, it would be really nice if they updated the app so that if you don't like the line you just scanned, with the press of a button it would allow you to delete it and try again. As of right now, it is a pain in the butt to delete the whole line (either hold down backspace for 100 characters until it is deleted, or highlight with your fingers the words you want deleted - either way it just takes way too long)

The Scanmarker has really helped me with my note taking for books I'm reading. In my job I tend to read a lot. I need to capture ideas to note later and also to share with others. Almost everything I scan is something I've already highlighted. The air pen has no trouble reading it. Is it perfect? No, but it is definitely saving me time. One of the things I like best is that it can easily scan into open programs - for me, that means I can scan into Evernote. I did encounter an issue connecting to my computer, and I reached out to customer service. With very few questions they determined there was a problem with the USB receiver and mailed me out a new one, free of charge. That's great service! If you need more convincing...this entire review was scanned with my Scanmarker. Does that make me more than a little geeky for typing my review, printing it, and then re-scanning it? Absolutely! But I hope it helps your decision [Hand typed now] Results: There were some mistakes that included some punctuation, a few spots where a space wasn't added, and the font I used led the software to think my "I's" were "1's". Overall, that's still pretty good, and maybe it will keep getting better.

This is an awesome tool! As a student in an intensive graduate program my reading averages about 1,000 pages per week and the majority of that is in real books. It's sometime hard to remember exactly where I read something and after a week or two the multitude of tabs in my books isn't all that helpful. With the scanmarker I can quickly scan important passages into OneNote or Evernote or Word making all of my reading much more searchable. It took me a few tries to find the right speed for scanning text lines, but once I did it has been really easy to use. Scanmarker's customer service is also top-notch. You have to activate the scanmarker software within 30 days of beginning to use it using the activation code provided on the warranty card. I should have done this immediately but I procrastinated and then when I sent to activate it, I couldn't find the warranty card. I emailed the scanmarker support team and received a reply within in 10 minutes (on a Saturday which I think makes the quick response time even more amazing!). They helped me to quickly resolve the problem. I highly recommend this amazing tool!

I was hesitant in the beginning when I purchased this product which sounded too good to be true. While there *is* a slight learning curve that one has to overcome to be able to successfully use this product, it is still - dare I say it - an amazing device that WORKS. I am a nursing student and that requires a lot of reading and studying. With this device, all I can say is - thank God it's this affordable!!! Because it ACTUALLY works. I recommend it to all my classmates, always telling them that IT ISNT a gimmick. It's unbelievable how it works, actually. Also happy about the new light it has (I had the old model too which transmitted red light when it highlighted) but the new one is white. LASTLY.... amazing customer service! From their social media posts to the email correspondence! I'm a 100% satisfied customer and I can't believe I actually wrote this really LONG review because honestly I never have lol super happy!!! Perfect for note taking and text-to-speech!

I had a few strokes a couple years ago and I have trouble with reading, comprehension, and typing at times. I'm now in college and struggling with the huge amount of reading in one of my classes. The words and pictures assault my eyes, so reading textbook text is like trying to understand a concept from your instructor while at a live concert. The program I'm with would pay whatever it takes for something I need and there are far more expensive pens out there that do the same thing (except the "taking notes" part) so what mattered to me was the features and the reviews. This one had the best reviews, and I liked that it's wireless and not as bulky as some of the others. It's more stylish and I wouldn't be embarrassed using it in class if I needed. Other than the note taking (omg, I need to kill 2 birds with one stone as much as possible!) as I'm also reading, and the Bluetooth capability, I LOVE that I can slow down the text-to-speech playback! I have to have things at about one third slower in order for me to understand better. The voice is a pleasant, if slightly robotic, female. You do have to make sure you scan fast enough, which was tough for me at first and that you're holding it tilted up enough but once you start getting the hang of it, it's very easy. When I input definitions, it's much faster for me to use my speech-to-text mic but this is perfect for notes and voice playback! Super happy I've chosen this brand and model.

Law School Must Have

Great product and customer service. I'm currently in law school and this saves me tons of time! Some of my classmates have bought them as well because they are so convenient. And I stupidly lost my code and contacted the seller and they created me a new one. Highly recommend. The only negative I can say is that I'm jealous of all the cool colors available now that wasn't there when I got mine. This is definitely a law school must!

Great product!

Great product, very useful tool. I had it for a while and it works perfectly. It scans very fast and accurately. The setup was very easy and the instructions were clear. I'm using it to get notes and translate from research articles I'm reading and it saves a lot of work. It can scan complete paragraphs easily. The main benefit is that I don't had to read from the computer screen and I can still get notes easily to the computer.

Super easy to use

I just receive my scanmarker air and I am in love! I wish I knew about this product years ago, it would have made my life easier. The pen scanner is easy to use. I was surprised at how fast you can scan. I was scanning too slow at first, but I already have it down. I only received it today in the mail and was able to learn how to use it within minutes. I am a mature woman (oldish) so if I can use this I think it should be easy for just about anyone. Make sure you take the tutorial, it helps. UPDATE: I have been using the scanmarker air now for a little over a month and I am still in love with it. I was waiting for it to stop working or start to act-up, but I am very happy with it. I use it to help me take notes for my college courses (yes, late to college). I can say it has saved me a lot of time.

OMG This product is AMAZING

Does what it says, accomplished way more than I anticipated. Does the job with ease. Keeps up with how fast I scan and accurately. Can even pick up my hand written printed notes (if I write clear enough) HIGHLY RECOMMEND. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. IT WILL NOT FAIL YOU. cost effective and solid. Great battery life.
