Fit perfectly
My girl is 37" and 35 pounds. These fit her very well, and they're really cute without gapping at the crotch like the regular panty style ones do. They're thick enough that they look solid, and she wears them at least once a week, but they've already held up for over two months with only a tiny bit of pilling on the bottom. When she outgrows these, I'll definitely get the next size up.

Held up fine, would buy again. Maybe post measurements? Here are size 5 and 6 measurements.
These have been worn once so far, to an active water/kayaking day camp, and held up great. They're easy to hand wash, and dry quickly. For a kid with 21" waist, the size 5 is perfect, not too tight but won't fall down, and size 6 is fine too with room to grow but stretched out when wet. I took photos of both pairs next to rulers, but can't seem to upload them. The size 6 is 8 inches long on the outer side and 9 inches at waist (there's plenty of stretch, esp. when wet). The size 5 is about 8.5 waist and 7.75 length at outer side. Neither pair I got is lined, which is great for wearing them as shorts/for water sports on a hot day, and the patterns/colors I got (pink tye dye and rainbow butterfly) are not at all see-through.

Great bathing suit shorts!
I love these bathing suit bottoms. I am very funny about my daughter wearing clothes that show too much skin. She is very fair and I do not want her to sun burn. The bottoms that originally came with her top, were way too big and with her being potty trained now, there is no diaper to cover up her girl parts. So, I bought these hoping that they would fit like many of her legging shorts. They do! They fit her like a 3 T would and should. She is covering all of her parts perfectly and could potentially even wear these into next summer! If you are looking for cute, covering bathing suit bottoms, here they are!

Perfect for my tiny 5 year old!
These are perfect for my 5 year old who is tiny (compared to others in her class). We bough a 5T swimsuit that fit perfectly on top, but was too loose on bottom and kept coming down in the pool (no good)! We got these in Violet because they match the top well, and once we got them and confirmed that they fit we ordered 2 more pairs to alternate! Recommended!

Finally leg coverage!!
Finally leg coverage. For some reason even little girls are stilI seen as little objects to be viewed in skimpy bathing suits. It's been impossible to find something both pratical and decent looking. We live in Florida where the sun is like- the devil. These shorts save me about 5 more oz of sunscreen and 1 pound of anxiety- knowing she won't get burned even if there is "wardrobe malfunction" as tends to happen with a 3 year old on a boogie board in the ocean. "Copper tone" tan lines are not cool in 2017- these shorts are great in and out of the water. We equally love the city threads longer shorts too- I let my daughter "choose" between the two. Even less sunscreen is required for those days! On a whim we put these shorter ones on her very chunky legged 1 year old sister- they were perfect! The 4t fits a trim four year old and even works on a pudgy (less active) 1 year old. We will be buying another smaller pair- but I see us getting a ton of sun filled days in with these shorts! THANK YOU! We even looked at the So called "board shorts" they sell in the boys departments, I was so desperate to stop the sunburns. They are impracticaly long- cause toddler legs to chafe. I can't believe that's what passes as men's/boys "swim wear".)

Great swim shorts!
I bought a cute rash guard top for my daughter and needed some basic black bottoms to go with it. These fit the bill perfectly. My girl is slight - about 45 lbs at 8.5 yrs. old – so I usually end up ordering her a size 6 or smaller. Based on the reviews that these run small, I went with a size 7. They fit well with a bit of room to grow. She’s worn them swimming once so far and they were great. They stayed in place and were comfortable. She loves them and I’m pleased.

Great "boy shorts" for active girl swimmers!
My seven year old daughter is a very active swimmer and loves to jump into the pool, climb out, jump in again, etc. (like most kids her age). I found I was constantly asking her to pull up her swimsuit bottoms so as to maintain some sense of modesty at our neighborhood pool. She was just having fun with her friends and couldn't be bothered, so I decided to look for some "boy short" style bottoms. These are just perfect! She's been wearing them to play in the pool and for swim lessons for a week now and they are a huge improvement over the bikini style bottoms that come with most little girls tankini sets. I also ran them through the washer and dryer (not sure if that's recommended but I was in a hurry and did it by accident) and they washed beautifully! They fit very snug - kind of like spandex workout shorts for women, so they don't have a lot of drag in the pool and they stay in place. I highly recommend these!

Good product, just not right for my kid.
Bought these shorts for my 7 year old daughter. I tried them on her and decided not to keep them because she wears her pants on her hips, not her waist or natural waist so there was a lot of extra fabric that was flattened out (kind of) in the crotch area when I pulled it down. When I pulled them up to where the fabric wasn’t flattened, it just looked bunched. Not in a distasteful way. Because they are a clingy material, it showed too much anatomy that I didn’t want showing. Maybe a size up would have helped this? I’m not sure. I bought for her exact size and they fit how they were supposed to, I just didn’t like the tightness in the crotch area or the looseness due to the inseam being long for wearing on the waist.

Perfect to pair with rash guards
We like to use rash guards for extra sun protection but we were having a hard time finding any bottoms to go with my eldest's. My daughter requested "shorts ones that didn't go up like underwears" further complicating the search. We tried the only boardshorts we could find but they gave her a pretty bad friction burn on her thighs when she was running around for only a shot while. Although I usually shy away from ordering clothing online these had a great price and good reviews so we tried it out and I'm so glad we did. I anticipated them being snug (because of the matterial and my daughter's unusually muscular legs for her age) so I sized up and they fit her but are boardering on being loose. We should easily get two summers, if not three out of them. I love that the waist is cut a little high, it reduces that strip of back that shows when kids are bent over playing. And after several hours of play a day there's no discomfort or friction burn! All in all very happy with this product!

Great fit!
Love these swim shorts! No sagging or chaffing and because of the more snug fit, like compression shorts, these are perfect for my smaller 9 year old (46 ponds, 4 feet tall). After reading some other reviews I decided to go with a size 7 in the solid light blue. it's wonderful with room to grow. A size 6 would have worked as well, I'm sure. But I think the next pair I order will also be ia size 7 since it does fit well and she will be able to wear them longer - hopefully. Her first excursion with the shorts was to a water park last week and these were perfect. She wore other swim bottoms underneath since, apparently, the solid colored shorts aren't lined. Looking closely, you could slightly see the pattern of her other swim bottoms through the shorts, but it wasn't too noticable.
