Failed 1-Day after Warranty (w/ update after calling to report problem)
**Update from 23 Feb 19 post** I left the original post from 2 days ago so that you can see the reasons for my rating change. As I mentioned on the 23rd, I called Karcher today to explain the issue as it happened in my original post. Jarvis at Karcher explained to me that my description of the problem shows that the “Unloader Valve” most likely failed. After getting my email address and asking me to pull the sticker off of the bottom of the unit, he told me that my unit would be replaced under the Rapid Replacement Program. He stated that once I fill out the form that he was emailing me, attached the sticker I removed from the unit, and emailed it back to him, he would forward it to corporate and that the entire process will take about 7-10 business days. I have to say that I was only on the phone for 3-4 mins for the entire process. A+ customer service, so thank you Jarvis! Products sometimes fail, but Jarvis made sure that Karcher was doing everything in their power to make things right. I posted 1 star the day of the failure, but thanks to the quick resolution, I am changing my rating to reflect the product itself as well as the excellent customer service! Product “was” fantastic. Ordered through Amazon on 20 Feb 2018. Was using today, 1 year and one day after it arrived and something went wrong. Let go of the trigger and the pressure washer reduced to about 70% spray. Thought was the wand assembly went bad, but when removing the wand, water is still “shooting” out of the hose assembly. Super frustrated with the timing of the failure vs. the warranty. I will be calling on Monday morning.

Compact and Easy to store
Compact and lightweight for transport and storage. Hose, cord and gun, stored in bin much nicer than hanging on outside. Motor sound level no worse that other electric washers ive owned. Foot switch is friendly on the back. No bending to switch on/off. Lack of washer tip selection was a non issue once I tried the turbo nozzle. Washer does not tip over in use when pulled on. Only thing I added was quick disconnect kit (M22-14mm) for the hose and water inlet, It helps with setup, and also allows things to dry out when stored. My previous Karcher had a corrosion issue with the hose ends, when left on over a long period of time. Also no chance some relative or friend borrowing it, will cross the hose fittings, Our first use, an 8 hr day of washing walks and driveways ,went flawlessly,

This washer works very well
My gas washer broke so we decided to try this electric washer as pulling a crank rope on a gas unit was becoming very difficult for me. We use our washer primarily to clean our driveway and other concrete as well as the wood deck and my pickup truck. I spent hours researching the various brands and models and decided on this K1900, and I am not at all disappointed! We spent the better part of two days washing our driveway and walkway which had become very dark with dirt and air pollutants (we live near a freeway) and had not been cleaned in about four years. The driveway is 12' wide and about 140' long and the walkway is 4' wide and about 70' long. The K1900 ran without a problem. The pressure was very good but not as compared to my old gas washer, which I expected. However, using the "Turbo" nozzle it cleaned very well, cleaning about 4" at a time. We have not tried one of the round surface cleaning attachments, which if they work, they would certainly be an advantage. Our daughter had recently purchased a Greenworks 2000psi washer and she allowed us to borrow it to see if we really wanted an electric washer. We were impressed with that washer's ability to wash the concrete but it was much louder and appears to be of a lesser quality (I cannot say that it is of a lesser quality since I have not owned one, but it appears to be ). Apparently the Greenworks washer has a "Universal" motor that must spin at higher RPM's and sounds to me like a shop vac and the K1900 has an "Induction" motor and is much quieter, and according to my research an induction motor cost more to produce and will last much longer. Due to the length of the driveway we had to use a 12 AWG extension cord. The extension cord did not appear to diminish the power of the K1900. If I have any complaints it would be that the high pressure hose is not as good of quality as I would prefer. That being said, the K1900 comes with a hose that appears to be far superior to the pressure hoses that I have seen on other brands, including the Greenworks washer mentioned above. That is merely my opinion based on observation of the hoses as I have not used any other brands. Also, I do not like the restriction on using household bleach in the detergent tank. I have rented or owned gas pressure washers for 40 years and always ran bleach and detergent through the washer (picked up from a 5-gallon bucket via the chemical pickup hose). I never had any problems with the bleach causing seals to deteriorate or fail, however, all of these electric washer companies either specifically state or imply that using such chemicals will void the warranty. For that reason I intend to purchase a soap injector bottle that picks the chemical up at the wand instead of running it through the machine. That way, worst case scenario, I will be out $20 for the bottle soap injector and not void any warranty. Speaking of warranty, this K1900 has one of the best, although I certainly have not tested their real life response to a warranty claim. Some reviewers seem to have a problem with the wands and Karcher will not replace them, others state that Karcher made them whole by replacing a defective wand. I have read in several places that Karcher will honor their 3 year replacement warranty without question if the machine motor or pump fails. That is splendid! However, I did go ahead and purchase the extended warranty offered by Asurion when I made my purchase. That gives me 6 years of coverage total. There are a number of YouTube videos made by "Obsessed Garage" that reviews about 48 different models of various brands of electric pressure washers. His main concern is testing for the purpose of washing cars with a foam cannon, but in his testing he places a pressure meter on each of the wands and reports the actual pressure that each machine produces and then the actual GPM (gallons per minute) of each washer. He test several brands including Kercher, Greenworks, SunJoe, and others. I highly recommend his review videos as I was ready to order a SunJoe and he changed my mind. The pressure and GPM test that he performed on the Kercher models indicated that the claimed pressures is very close to what Kercher advertises That cannot be said of the other brands, except for the very high-end brands he tested. We also liked the way the handle tucks and folds down out of the way and the fact that the nozzle attachments were standard and the same as those I used on my gas unit. This unit does not have a hose reel, but I did not want one as I have never seen any such reel that made life easier. There is a place created on the handle to store the cord and a tub area to store the pressure hose. We can honestly recommend this washer after having used it almost non-stop for two days. We still have many smaller wash jobs ahead this Spring and if we have problems we will update this review. If you purchase this K1900 I think you will like it.

Not really sure what all the other bad reviews are about?
So I've read a of the negative reviews and I'm not really sure where to start. I've been using this thing for a few months now and I think this thing is GREAT compared to literally every other plastic entry- level pressure washer out there. I've found the flow ratings to actually be on point, where most others are WAAAAAY over estimating their flow. I haven't checked pressures yet, but I use mine mostly for weekend detailing for friends/family. DO NOT expect this thing to do anything more than wash cars and maybe some VERY light cleaning around the house. This isn't going to be the thing to go to for cleaning your house vinyl siding or washing your driveway unless you're just spot cleaning. If you want something for that, you need to put up the money and get a gasser. Now, This thing for cars is amazing. It sounds and feels (interally) beefy, compared to the few other units (like Sunjoe) I've used. It maintains the pressure in the handle, unlike the others that have to spin up. I do have a *few* minor complaints. 1. I'm not a fan of the hose or gun setup. Honestly, I'd rather them not sell it, give it a universal quick connect fitting, give a cheaper price and just say "go buy a hose yourself" I know that sounds dumb, but the hose and gun provided, while they work, are pretty bad, the hose is SUPER stiff. The gun itself isn't too bad, but I really wish they had the option to go shorty with it, you HAVE to use the extension wand... 2. Water Leaks. you really gotta ensure the fittings are on there. Now, I will say this, dealing with water in a pressure setup, you WILL be dealing with leaks, it's just a matter of how easily you can mitigate them. A little bit of dripping isn't a problem. Now, If you are complaining about ALL the leaks, that's a problem. Unless you're dealing with a 1000$+ setup, you will have leaks. Fact of life, get over it. 3. The location of the inlet/outlet and electrical cords. They just aren't really conductive to cleaning a larger car. If you are doing a car, you'll need to move at least once. moving while managing an extension cord, the machine cord, an inlet garden hose, and the stiff as a wood dowel pressure hose. The good news, is there is a fix for this. Buy an aftermarket 50 foot hose that doesn't suck and a mini swivel gun, with a Quick Disconnect wand extension. Other than the minor things, which IMO they are all really minor nit picky things, I think this machine is wonderful. I say just get the k1700 or k1700 cube and be done with it, if you need more pressure or flow, get a gasser.

Perfect Car Washer
A perfect car wash is a little like a rendezvous with a hooker - as little touching as possible while getting the job done. I bought this for my Summer home in Michigan which in early April often means snow, slush, salt and assorted contaminates. My Karcher offers enough power to quickly spray away the dirt, salt and muck while not harming the paint or plastic surfaces. Also, I love the thoughtful design; the foot controlled switch is great and I love the side mounted faux recepticle that safeguards the electrical plug. I have a similar Subaru electric pressure washer that I picked up at Costco but, design-wise, the Karcher is the hands-down winner.

Another happy owner
I bought an electric pressure washer the other week, a Karcher K1900. My primary use is to clean the moss off of my brick front steps. The front of my house faces north, and my trees have grown large enough to shade it all summer. The last 2 or 3 winters have been so warm, the moss survived the winter. That moss was getting pretty shaggy in places. I've never owned a pressure washer before, but I have borrowed one, or joined in with a neighbor to rent one. The one I borrowed was a smaller electric pressure washer. It worked, but not very well. It took a long time to clean a small area. It belonged to a neighbor, who got rid of it, and rented a more powerful gasoline powered washer. The last time he rented one, I shared it for a weekend. I used my new K1900 yesterday for the first time. It worked better than I expected, and I’m happy with it. I read the manual which strongly recommended using detergent to clean brick or concrete patios. I tried a small area that I wet with water without detergent, followed by another small area pre-treated with detergent. Yes, use the detergent, it makes things come clean faster. The manual was mostly straight forward and easy to understand, with one exception. I had a question about how to apply detergent from the dispenser and then rinse with water. The manual does say, with the soap nozzle "Liquid detergent is drawn into the unit and mixed with water". And then, "To rinse, replace the soap nozzle with the 15° nozzle and pull trigger to operate". It did not say that detergent is drawn from the tank ONLY when the soap nozzle is used. It it had directly said that, it would have avoided my confusion. I suspect I wasn't the only confused owner. Because Karcher does seem to read these reviews, I hope they will modify the manual. This washer is among the largest and most powerful of the electric pressure washers I found. It comes with a 25' pressure hose, a trigger gun, a 15" wand (I also bought a 24" wand), and 4 nozzles. One of them was a turbo nozzle which cleaned things much faster. It lacks most other bells & whistles, like a reel for the pressure hose. An owner’s review on Amazon (Review by a Professional Pressure Washer By RoscosReviews April 2, 2017) convinced me to get this model. He said avoid longer hoses or a hose reel. I also took his advice to buy replacement O rings for the high pressure connections. After one use, about 2-3 hours work, I am happy enough with my purchase to recommend it to others.

After one use a great product I'm not sure how it will hold up ...
I used the pressure washer for the first time. After one use a great product I'm not sure how it will hold up but it has a three year warreny. Made the cement look line new, in one photo left part of the cement undone too show the difference a cleaning makes.

I have to make another Review
I regret to inform Karcher that I'm on my 2nd product of this pressure washer, I would like to share the experience ive had with both of them. The 1st Karcher K1900 When i first bought this one I immediately took one of my motorcycles out to prep for washing. i took the washer out of its box, assembled the product as instructed by the manual. (honestly isnt hard to do, wheels, filter, line, gun) the manual says to have the karcher run water through it without the power on so it can get all the air out, once you hear the air stop, and its just pure water, then you are safe to use the product, made sure everything was all good to go before turning it on. The issue: when i started to pressure wash, it was going fairly well! i liked the pressure that was coming from it. however 5 minutes into washing my unit started to pulsate. and my heart sank thinking "man... come on" this pulsating would not go away, to be honest, I tried 30 minutes or more to figure out why this thing was pulsating. apparently you need to take it apart by a karcher dealer and have the cylinder head replaced? or something like that. so i contacted support to get a karcher approved mechanic to check it out. They sent me to a place 20 miles from my home, unfortunatly the mechanic told me 2 days later that they infact dont work on these products. so i called back and was signed up for rapid exchange program. Not gonna lie, im happy with customer support. they genuinely hooked me up with another pressure washer and i was pleased. before openeing the 2nd one i came back and gave my last review (that i now deleted) a 5 star because i just assumed it was going to be a good product. The 2nd Karcher K1900: Opened it up, i even took a video of me doing EVERYTHING so i have proof of whats going on. i EVEN CHECKED my water to make sure there was 0 sediment or ANYTHING that could contaminate the karcher K1900. after inspecting everything possible. and running water through to get air out. i tried it again. this time i was going to start pressure washing my house cause theirs quite a bit of grime or mold on the side of the house and figured it would be nice to clean this off for my mother. same thing again. 5 minutes in and it pulsated 4 times and i ran to turn the pressure washer off. and thought, theres no way..... i took it out the next day just hoping maybe it would work properly.. unfortunately, the pulsating started again... it was non stop. at the time i was furious. because i dont know even how to approach this situation anymore. i would honestly like to send this unit back and have it inspected. but i don't want to pay shipping. like... id like to try one more time with another one... however i almost feel like its going to do the same thing... and i dont want to waste karchers time or mine dealing with an unknown problem. 5 stars for customer support. theyre great, but... i cant give anything above 1 because both of them failed me. Update: 3/1/2019 Went through rapid exchange again. getting another. their customer support is just 100% i hope this one works. 5 stars because of their phenominal support. Update 5/3/2019 The pressure washer works! im happy, customer service is 100% amazing. make sure to buy a filter just in case though, 100 mesh per 1 inch or smaller to collect any sort of dirt if there is ever any. love this pressure washer though. Thank you.

Great for car washing and removing dirt and pollen from the deck. Very easy to setup and use.
I’m a typical suburban home owner and after tons of research it was clear that the K1700 is the best choice for an around-the-house pressure washer. Check out Matt’s review of this unit on the Obsessed Garage YouTube channel for a very detailed performance test and rundown of its features. He personally tested around 30 electric pressure washers and found that he K1700 actually had more flow (1.45 GPM) than the competition, including more expensive models and even more than Karcher’s K4 and K5. Due to its performance and features he chose the K1700 exclusively to carry in his own store of heavily curated cleaning products and if you know Matt, that says a lot. The Obsessed Garage name is VERY fitting for his whole operation. My experience using it: I had it assembled in under 5 minutes without any tools, which only involved installing the wheels, handle, hose, and gun. Everything snapped or screwed together easily and all the parts fit perfectly and without issue. I read the manual in about 2 minutes and was power washing within 15 minutes of opening the box. Using it is as easy as a garden hose and works great for the things I purchased it to do. To be clear, this is not going to remove years old stains on concrete or strip paint from old cars but it did make quick work of my pollen and bird poop stained deck, mud stained brick foundation, grass stained Cub Cadet riding mower, and the bug covered front grill on my car. The unit is light weight, rolls easy, and has a nice long power cord so maneuvering it around the yard was very easy and low impact. After 2 hours of work around my house everything is looking basically brand new. Seriously, the bang for the buck here is incredible. Putting it away was as simple as disconnecting the garden hose, running the motor for 30 seconds to spray out any leftover water inside it, and coiling up the power cord and sprayer hose. Build quality: This is a sturdy feeling machine. All the plastic is nice and thick, the handle is metal and extremely easy to attach/detach. I almost went with the K1800 for the folding handle but that’s really not a necessary feature since the handle on the K1700 can be removed in 10 seconds without tools by just pressing two spring-supported metal balls. While feeling well built, it weighs under 20lbs so you can easily pick it up (or roll it) without breaking a sweat. The garden hose attachment point is metal and Karcher includes a metal swiveling female-to-female adapter for that connection as well. The best thing about the K1700, and a major advantage over the K4 and K5, is that this unit uses industry standard M22 threads and 1/4” quick disconnects on the hose and spray gun. That means you can purchase any brand of hose, gun, attachments, nozzles, swivels, quick disconnects, etc. as you expand your setup. I went ahead and bought a MATCC foam cannon and a set of various spray pattern nozzles ($17), a 50’ hose ($24), a 180 degree swiveling quick disconnect ($12), and an assortment of stainless steel quick disconnects ($8). All of them fit perfectly and work great on the K1700 and with the new quick disconnects I can snap everything together in different combinations on the fly (without needing to turn off the machine) like Lego pieces. Con?: If I had to pick one shortcoming on this machine, and this is literally the only one I can think of, it’s that the hose is too short for car washing. I highly recommend picking up a 50ft hose along with the various quick disconnects needed so you could attach the two hoses together for a total of 75ft if needed. I found 50ft to be more than enough for washing 2 cars parked in the same driveway without needing to move the machine but having the option for 75ft will be perfect when I get on the roof to clean out the gutters. Conclusion: Overall I’m extremely happy with this purchase. It makes pressure washing so easy that I can’t wait for things to get dirty so I can have a reason to use it again. I’ve been spending $20-30 per month at the car wash so the K1700 should pay for itself in car wash savings alone over 4-5 months. That’s not even counting the gas or time I use to drive and wait in line at the car wash. Setting up, using, and putting away the K1700 is so quick and easy that I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this unit to anyone, young or old, as an around-the house pressure washer. Even if you have no interest in cleaning your home/deck, this makes car washes so easy (and FUN with the foam cannon) that anyone that likes to keep their vehicles clean should pick up one of these. I even caught my neighbor sneaking a peek out his front window when I was foaming my car and then grabbing his wife to show her how cool it was. Anyone that lives in a typical suburban middle class neighborhood knows the joy making the neighbors jealous!

So far, so good!
I've used my K1700 a few times already and so far it's working great. It's got the expected amount of power for an electric pressure washer, and the standard sized fittings are a plus. People complaining about leaking from the hose connection... it's because you're using a garden hose. When I use the included attachment I get small drips from the hose connection at the end; not the connection that goes into the machine. You have to get a quick detach adapter for tour hose and the K1700 in order to completely stop that. So far I've used my pressure washer to clean the siding and brick on my house, as well as cleaning my car with a foam lance. In both cases it worked great! Time will tell how durable this thing is in the long term. Oh... and do yourself a favor and get a longer wand hose. 25' doesn't cut it.
