I had some home renovation projects coming up and thought this would come in handy - it sure did! First, my tile guy used it in retiling our fireplace (and we double checked it with two known good levels) and it was dead nuts on. Next, I found it helpful in delineating areas of a large open ceiling area that I was repainting white on white. Hanging new closet doors - check. Door trim, check. Easy to use, easy to mount on my large camera tripod, and I checked the two batteries after all the use and they were still strong! Very happy with this little laser level.

Everyone complaining that this thing isn't a good value for the money : I’m not sure what exactly this issue is . Take a look at the attached photos. I compared this to a professionals’ tool at nearly 4-5 times the price (a Bosch 50 foot level) and the levels are damn near exactly the same at a distance of over 20 feet . For any home owner use , this should be perfect . Is the laser as bright as the Bosch ? No... but the Bosch I have is also $140! Unless you need lots of impact resistance or distance , this is a great tool

So far I have completed 5 projects that needed leveling or benefited from it. Self-leveling is awesome. You can attach the unit to your walls using the magnetic adapter (most wall corners / window edges have metal corner beading which is usually magnetic) or you can use a tripod as it has a standard 1/4 -20 thread mount. A super useful product that has saved me valuable time.

I've tried a couple of other laser levels previously for wall hanging projects. None had a tripod mount, although they had ways to "stick" to the wall, they never worked. This item with the tripod mount + magnetic attachment is to die for. I absolutely LOVE the ability to just "stick" this to any corner of a drywalled wall and have it very sturdily attached via the magnets. The autoleveling is amazing and works very well. The first time I tried it out I did verify with an 8 foot level that the line it was drawing was in fact level (ya never know). The criss-cross laser is a huge help as well when laying out photo grids on a wall. Being able to mark the center of the wall and have it there while placing your initial pictures is a huge help. Only wish I had found this years ago as it makes leveling and hanging items a breeze.

This worked great for a shower tile job. This was much easier than trying to hold a manual level or draw lines on the wall for the tiles. It seems of good quality and rugged construction. I imagine it could handle being dropped but I didn't test this. You will really need to use a tripod to take full advantage of this but you can use it without. It does also have a magnetic mount if you have something metal you can stick it to. I mounted this to one of the AmazonBasics tripods and it worked great. I'll be using this again to install a chair rail in the next few days and can already think of several other projects that I cant wait to use this for.

Had thought I don't need the level rules anymore . but the 4 degree self-auto leveling is kind of joke , it is hard to minimize the laser with in the 8 degree range . Is the self-leveling activated already , is my angle out of the leveling range ?? I need check few more time to ensure it is working . so endup with draw few dots there an use the leaser just to mark a straight line . Am I using this wrong ? Why not add a indicator to let user knows it is >4 degree , it should be simple and usefully . User can always make sure it is working . Update on Jan 25 ,2019 The technical support answered my question , thanks for their answer I believe it worthy 5 starts now :)

This beats the heck out of trying to use a level and painters tape to hang heavy pictures/posters. It draws a nice level red line and I can just hammer a couple nails in along the line. The only thing I didn't really realize was that it auto-levels by kind of just wobbling into place. If you bounce on your floor or jump around it, it will shake the red line... so just be wary of that :P

My first tile job turned out great using this laser level to get me started and allow me to check my work. It does all the thinking; you just need to set it at the height you need. It had a magnetic bracket but that did help me much so I screwed it to the wall and also used an old tripod. You can actually just set it on a pile of bricks or blocks or anything. Horizontal and vertical lines allo you to check before you start and as you go. I can’t compare to expense ones, but this is all I needed. It is not super bright and does fade out on the edges but that’s really not a problem in my small bath. You can darken the room if you cannot see the lines. Great value for high tech! (PS this laser does not shoot straight up for a plumbline.)

So I purchased this tool for me, a non-carpenter, to hang frames and shelves in my home. This is a good tool that elimates the guess work of measuring on one wall and taking your ruler and making sure it matches the other wall. I love that you can sit this level on a table, chair or use the tripod mount, which is what I used. This is also a tool that is a good additional tool also for the skilled carpenter, like my father, who also loves this tool. It makes the job a lot easier.

I only needed this for curtain rods and hanging a few pictures. I could have used a level. However this is so much better for a lot of applications. I mounted it on a music stand to get it high enough (thread adapter required). Worked just fine. If you just want to do a few jobs around the house and think a laser level might be handy, this works. And for me it worked quite well.
