I just saw this instrument had only one review and it really deserves more. First, I would not sell mine for list. I’m shopping for a better case. Ive had this instrument for a few years. Not sure exactly how long, but I play it almost every day and I have many guitars and basses to choose from. Size is excellent. Electronics very good. Sound is unique. I personally love the tone. Playability, it’s best feature. I use it to play and sing solo. Also good for songwriting and obviously traveling. Plug in and play coffee houses. The strings, are just for this bass and probably have a major impact on tone and playability. I do not like the fat rubber strings that come on some small basses. These are perfect. I’m just now shopping for my second set. Buy with confidence. I need to clarify my statement about the case. It’s an excellent soft case. I just prefer a hardshell case.

I needed a portable bass, that could be heard when played acoustically. And without breaking the bank. I heard someone playing one at the Kerrville Folk Festival, and it was love at first sight. And it's a Taylor! Also has a pickup and a built in tuner. Love it. Comes with a nice case too. 👍

The Taylor mini bass is a great sounding acoustic electric with built in tuner. It’s light weight and size make it perfect for a go anywhere instrument and combined with a great sound makes it perfect for a backup. It’s great sound and ease of play also makes it an interesting “first choice” as well.

I've seen a few Youtube reviews of this bass. Plugged in, the bass sounded great. However, when unplugged, the sound seemed rather "tinny" to me with a lot of fret buzz coming through. I hear none of those qualities when I play it though. It sounds absolutely great unplugged. As others have noted, the tone is definitely unique among acoustic basses. I personally love it. It really is a lot of fun to play and I find myself walking around the house with it all the time. For its size, the lows are plenty and it really shines when coupled with a guitar or two. The well-padded soft case is very nice and surprisingly durable. No real complaints, the batteries were dead out of the box (which I have yet to replace) so I haven't used the tuner or preamp at all and can't comment on them.

Wife is happy. We are all happy. Sounds great.

I've tried this at the music store, this is probably the best sounding acoustic bass and it's so compact and light but it's pricier! :(
