Stay connected during international travel through local SIM card data plans
This was the must-have item on our month long trip to France and Italy. We got a data only SIM card for it in France and another one in Italy and it kept us connected no matter where we were!

Huawei
I had a lot of difficulty initially setting, missed some fact that my user name would be admin after changing password. After I got through that I used it abroad without difficulty

Very useful when traveling
My wife and I use it when we travel to other countries. I just plug a SIM card and usually works within a few minutes. They app and web page are pretty decent but not that easy to use. I use it mainly to navigate and get directions from internet (google maps or other). It works pretty good but sometimes if you don't use it in while you have to check that signal is still on. It runs a bit hot so best if you keep it by itself on a bag pack. Also, make sure you have a battery pack to charge it, because battery does not last that long (4 or 5 hours of continuous use).

Perfect!
I am from Vzla and it works here!

Internet access abroad
We purchased two of these to setup connectivity to a database while working in a remote location. We purchased two SIM cards abroad, loaded them into the Huawei, and used them for two months without a single problem. The devices come with a small instruction booklet, but if you have ever setup a router before, you will be able to setup the Huawei intuitively. I am working on some other projects later this year, and I will be recommending that we purchase more of these devices!

Works, reliably and fast.
Used this device in Scandinavia and London in May 2019. Worked perfectly, paired with a data sim (size - mini). The sim we used was 5GB from EE (a UK provider), roaming and hotspot permitted (See below). IMPORTANT - Be sure to choose a sim that permits use in a mifi device / wifi hotspot to allow multiple users to access the web. IMPORTANT - the device defaults to NOT roaming. In settings, roaming MUST be enabled, when the sim is installed. - without the sim inserted you cannot access the setting page to enable roaming. - After landing, we logged in with a phone to the MiFi with the sim installed and both lights green. - After logging in to 192.168.8.1 with phone or tablet, you will see "go directly to the web page" Click on that, goto settings after entering admin and password > dialup > mobile connection > enable roaming. This step is essential. All other default settings were OK. We connected multiple devices - 2 phones, 2 tablets and a Macbook air, but not all at the same time. We are located in the USA, so we only found out after we landed that it worked, reliably and fast. Coverage in Scandinavia was excellent with the EE sim roaming via Telia. A few observations: - useful range is good. - it gets quite warm. - Don't know the health effects of having it close to you for long periods - would need to check the power output. - you may need a portable battery pack to charge it if you are out and about for many hours as the battery may drain completely. - It comes with a small but thick manual in many languages. The part you need is 2 pages - suggest tear out the pages or photograph with your phone for reference and leave the booklet at home. - Advise switching your connected devices to wifi when possible to save data, battery and reduce heat production (and turn the mifi off). - Switching it on - it connects quickly; switch off by holding down the power button until the lights go out. - Any statistics you see are since the device was switched on, not how much data of the sim has already been used. - There is no simple way to see how much data you have used / what is left. - You may want to change the device name and password, but you the user will always be 'admin' (lower case) when logging in. - The device can receive SMS from the carrier - EE let us know when we arrived to a new country or had used 80% or more of data. - Go to other settings > system > device information and you may want to note down the phone number associated with the sim. - Add the country code (+44 for the UK, for the EE sim we used) and remove the leading zero to get the international number; this is only possibly useful if you install the sim in a phone. The data only sim we used: "(UK EE) 4G Mobile Broadband Data SIM preloaded with 5GB lasting 30 days FREE ROAMING / USE in Europe" https://www.amazon.com/UK-EE-Mobile-Data-5GB/dp/B01HBAJH2I Keep the top up card with you - we used it at Heathrow at WH Smith to add data. Sim provided is mini size, but has cutouts for micro and nano, if you want to put into another device. You could do that to see how much data you have left. When we returned home to the US, installed it into a phone - it connected to AT+T. The roaming provider in Scandinavia was Telia.
