5 years ago I'd purchased longer solid colored similar devices just as interesting toys for my grandson to look at while they were spinning (indoors). But then when I had a woodpecker eating holes in some of my cedar wood shakes I decided to hang the spinning devices where-outside- they might scare off the birds just from the movement. They are working beautifully with the solid color. But I got a woodpecker attack on the other side of my house and needed more spinners. These reflective spinning devices will definitely work even better because the mirror like shine will not only scare through movement but also because the birds may see themselves reflected and think it's another bird ready to attack. My sister is also having these bird attack problems so I'm sending them to her too because I know they'll work. We will compare notes.

It works!
We have had birds nesting under our eaves and constantly flying around our bedroom windows. I ordered these to 'encourage' them to build their nests somewhere else. I wasn't sure if these would work, but they were inexpensive enough to try them. Someone had suggested to me to try tying old cd discs, but these are more attractive and come ready to hang. I have had them up for almost a month and it has definitely discouraged the birds from even landing under the eaves. The plus is that they look attractive as they spin and dance in the breeze.

Working great.
Seems to be working! We have many tomato plants and last year birds were a big problem. We have a frame built over our large square foot garden and we put the deer net on top but have never gotten around to putting on the sides as planned as it would limit our access. Anyway, we bought tape as well as the owls and spinners. Where the tape was hanging - no bird damage. My husband missed a couple spots and the birds had been there. I added a few more pieces and no more birds.

Works great but the rubber band needs some improvement.
Really works nice and is so pretty. Big problem is the thin elastic string breaks if the wind is too strong. We live in the country and always have a pretty stiff breeze. One only lasted a couple of hours and another lasted 2 days. We just replace the elastic string with regular thin twine. It doesn't have the bouncy effect but they still reflect and look pretty. I am going to look into replacing the elastic that came with them with a thin more sturdy elastic one uses in sewing. It's nice that there is a hole in the bottom of each one so you can attach them together to make a longer one.

I was skeptical; but these actually work
We got these after a woodpecker came for our log house. We had some luck with length's of aluminum foil but they fall off and look weird. These do work as well. The woodpecker would avoid the areas where we placed them and move to another area of the house. Eventually we purchased enough of them to keep him away. They only seem to work for roughly an area of 10 feet or so. Thus, you will need to purchase enough to get sufficient coverage of the area you want to protect.

I am extremely happy with this product
I am extremely happy with this product. I was skeptical about this working but was at my wits end with all the birds pooping on my railing BBQ etc under my deck. I was cleaning it up two and three times a day, they were also going on the front gate so I put these under the eves and birds poop problem is solved. You want to make sure you put in a place that they can spin freely .Thank you so much for a great product at a good price that is attractive and works.

It was well packaged and they were in perfect condition. We hung them up about three weeks ...
We hung these on our picture window because birds frequently fly into it and sometimes die. The last straw was a Cooper’s hawk hitting it. It was well packaged and they were in perfect condition. We hung them up about three weeks ago and haven’t had a bird hit the window since then. I’m not one who normally likes shiny decorations, but these are really pretty in the wind with the sun shining off of them. The only issue we’ve had was when the strong Nebraska wind (30-40 mph) made them tap on the window. This was solved by stringing fishing line across the window at their lower end. It isn’t noticeable and it keeps them from tapping. Wherever you choose to use these, they are both attractive and effective.

VERY HELPFUL!!!
I've had these up for several months now and have not had even one bird strike on my large picture window. Seems to work much better (the wind makes them twirl) than the window decals. When it gets very windy they do blow against the window and make a ticky-tick sound, buy that slight annoyance is worth the broken bird necks they have helped prevent. I plan to purchase more for my other windows. Highly recommended.

Attractive look; no birds yet
I was so pleased when these arrived. They are precisely what I envisioned. I immediately hung them on our fruit trees and I really like what they look like. They kind of spin in the wind so the natural action seems to help with keeping the birds away. We have fruit set and some of our blueberries are turning blue. So far I have not seen a single bird in our trees or bushes, but they are in the neighborhood. I hope/believe I will report the same in a few months
