I can't say enough good things about this mower
I can't say enough good things about this mower. I was worried about power, as I am not the nicest mower. I have a bad tendency to run over anything, sticks, rocks, concrete... but this has held right in there. I accidentally ran into a stump, and that's the only time the mower has stopped, as it should have. The only thing I recommend is buying an extra battery. I use a battery for my front yard, and another for my back yard, but some times I run through a patch of leaves or tall grass, and an extra battery helps.

Great Mower
I have owned this mower since the beginning of mowing season. I wanted to use it for a while with all the features to see if it held up. It Did! I'm so glad i purchased it. I have a corner lot with bermuda and a small piece of st. augustine. I also have the edger, blower and hedge trimmer. They all work off the same batteries and they all work great. It's light weight and starts with a push of a button. My yard is not easy to mow. I have a 4 foot high ledge i must navigate in the front of the yard and an incline on the side of the yard. Because the mower is light, I walk along the ledge and push it up the incline with little effort. I was paying the "lawn guys" over a $1000 a year to mow my grass. I'm 65 years old and did not think i could handle a regular gas mower on my yard. But with this one, its a breeze. I get a good workout and a nice neat yard whenever it needs it. I don't have to put up my dog, or be home to be sure they do everything and most importantly i no longer have to replace the sprinkler heads near as often since they are not getting broken anymore by the "lawn guys". Also, I'm taking better care of my yard since i see it up close every week. I am now putting out pre-emergent and fertilizer. The bagger took a little patience to see how to get it hooked propertly, but now its great. Also, i read the issues about the batteries. I live in Texas and my garage can get boiling hot in the summer, so i keep the batteries in the house. The mower does have a plastic cover, so you can't just bang it around, but i'm ok with that. This mower works great for me. I'm glad i bought it.

Electric, all right!
Easy peasy mowing. Love the 2 batteries. I've a 1500sf yard and it's doing the job.

Great Product - Easy to Manuveur
I read & researched a lot of different mowers before I ordered this one. My experience with Black & Decker tools, or even appliances has always been great. I am at a loss to see what other reviewers find in the way of faults with this mower. I have mowed 6 acres of lawn by riding mower, hand mower, and then a weed eater as well. It would be tough to find another battery powered mower that would do as nice a job as this one. I have banks along the west side of my home and this one trims right up to the home and did a great job even through some heavy grass spots. Batteries need to be """ cool """ before you recharge them or the red light will come on. This is a small thing to remember, as I can do most all of a 1/4 acre lawn with just the 1 battery. If I choose to do some extra mowing, I put in the extra battery just to make sure I can finish without putting a strain on just the 1 battery. Black & Decker did not disappoint !!!

Fantastic Design Makes Up for the Mediocre Power
This is a quality product for the price range. I own several 20 volt BLACK+DECKER cordless yard tools and have been really happy with their performance so I bought this mower hoping the batteries were interchangeable. They are not. The batteries that come with this unit (2) are double the size and 40 volts. They take at least four hours to charge out of the box so make sure that is the first thing you do when you receive the package. Set up was ridiculously easy since the unit is shipped 90% assembled already. The shape is impressive and looks like a sleek RC race car except larger (it is the size of a typical mower). The handle to adjust the cutting height is large and easy to use which is good because you will need to start high and slowly work your way down to your desired cutting height (just like the instructions recommend). The unit is very light weight so it was a breeze to maneuver (My kids will be able to take over this chore much sooner)! One battery was able to handle my entire backyard which has a sizeable lawn. There was one area that has been taken over by Tall Fescue which was several inches high. I had to pass over this area at the highest cut-height setting (7) or the engine would quit. I then tried to lower the height to 4 but that was too dramatic a difference and the engine quit. I was able to make another complete pass at 5 before the battery was depleted. I have no doubt that with two batteries I will have no issues mowing my yard in the future. There is a convenient storage compartment on board for the spare battery which is awesome. The power and performance were honestly about a 3-4 range. I still gave it a 5 however because the design and weight or so great and I was able to push this mower with more ease than the self propelled walk behind gasoline mower I used previously.

An easy to use bargain
This is my 3rd Black and Decker cordless electric mower and my favorite yet. Much more lightweight and maneuverable and after one mowing season, seems durable. I need both batteries to make it through the whole yard but with the compartment to stash the spare battery on the mower it's easy to change them out quickly. The charger isn't super fast but works fine. Mulching works well. Bagging is ok - the capacity of the attachable bag isn't huge but that's been true on all of the B&D models. The adjustable deck height is slick. While this isn't the highest rated cordless mower on the market, it's cost makes it a great value and if this one dies after a handful of years I can buy another one of these and still be even with the cost of an Ego.

Great machine wonderful delivery!
This is the only way I will buy large items ever again. I like the lawn mower and it works well. However having it delivered to my door was fabulous. No heavy lifting or dragging it in the car. Just open the box and go! Packaging was secure and well done. I so enjoy all the cordless Black and Decker tools I own. They are strong and quiet.

My first bagger!
Got this for my husband and these are his thoughts. Battery operated/ black and decker...skeptical at first. Out of the box, assembly was very easy. It's incredibly light weight for a mower. Looks to be all plastic body with very little metal parts. Metal wheel rods and the push handle. The battery took about 3 hours to charge. There is a key that needs to be inserted to complete the electrical circuit between the battery and squeeze lever to make the motor turn on. Much like a key to a treadmill. Child safety feature. Its smart. So, I put the battery in, put the key in, pressed the unlock button and squeezed the handle. It's so quiet! I could hear every twig snap as I mowed over them. Mind you, our yard is lumpy, full of weeds and the neighbors dislike that. I like grass but I'm not going to drain an aquifer and poison the earth to keep it hearty. So when I typically mow I've been told to keep my dandelion seeds in my own yard. Haha It has a bagger! My first mower with a bagger. I'm thrilled...and so are the neighbors. I mowed the entire .75 acre property without any issues. The battery is still on a full charge. My favorite perk to battery power, tipped it up on its side and hosed the blade area clean. No worries about spilling gas or oil getting to the cylinder. Also hosed off the top and water did not get into the battery housing. I couldn't be happier with this...black and decker battery powered mower Oh yes, height adjustment. With my old mowers raising the deck meant cutting a knuckle on those stupid tire lift levers that were alway stuck. Not this bad boy. One lever on top. Easy action. Raises and lowers effortlessly! (Jumping up and down in excitement)

Does a great job!
Got this for myself to help my husband with the mowing. He uses the lawn tractor and I use this mower to reach the areas the tractor can’t. It gets in pretty tight to the fence and around the shrubs etc. This mower was very easy to unpack and put together. I did it all myself and had no problems. I wanted a battery operated mower because the small motor things and I don’t get along well. So anything that needs a rope to start was out of the question. The battery lasts me about half an hour, but that’s fine since it comes with two batteries and charger. It even has a compartment on the mower to store your spare battery. Highly recommend!

It works but how do you open the compartment for the spare battery?
I have a lot of power tools including Black & Decker weed wacker and blower. I thought I would try the Black & Decker lawn mower powered by batteries only. It comes with 2 40 volt batteries as you probably already surmised. It does cut the grass adequately and is easy to push around and maneuverable. Of course it's much quieter than a gas-powered lawn mower. It is not courted so you don't need to worry about wires. Just charge the batteries in between cuttings! On my lawn that usually takes 2 charges. I have to use both batteries. The batteries are easy to switch out. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to store extra battery in the compartment on the lawn mower. I can't even get that compartment open! So I just put the second battery on a table on my porch. That way when I need it I just switch it out from there. I sure would like to know how to unlock the compartment for storing the extra battery! That part remains a total mystery to me! It's my only complaint!
