I have a small yard and I'm glad I choose the 40V one. The battery lasts long enough to edge, trim and blow. I was concerned with other reviews that the blower wasn't strong enough. It works great for me. My leaves are the small southern oak variety. Maybe with large size and lots of leaves it may not do as well. It is so nice not having to drag and electrical cord around. The 40V battery option is the way to go. The only improvement I can recommend is with the edger/trimmer. I wish it would extend about 6" longer.

Plenty of power to cut thick grass, weeds, and even tree seedlings up to about 3/8" thick. One charge of the included battery gets me through all the edging on my 1/4 acre lot with lots of landscaping. I have to trim around 3 trees, 3 big flower beds, and sidewalks, patio and driveway. It just works. After all that, I put the battery in the charger, mow, then use the blower to clean up my mess. Works great.

My debate between the two was I already have 2 extra 20v batteries available and charged from other B+D tools I have but thought maybe the 40v would have more power. Power wise, it’s OK I guess. I got this one when the prices were at $125 for the 40v and the 20v combo was $75. I’m not quite sure the extra $50 is worth it YET. I will say this, got my entire yard done on the initial charge(both weedeating and edging). Yard is your standard FL yard as I have maybe 500ft total to edge(?) and a 30x20ft driveway and 30-ish ft of sidewalk to blow. Both are light. Easy to use. Love the rotating head on the weedeater, it can lock in at “any” angle you may need.

I had the Black and Decker hedge trimmer and needed a second battery to do the hedging around my house all at once, I used to do the front yard one day and back yard another day. I saw this combo and had it in my cart for a year before I ultimately purchased it. Well I am beyond pleased with this. Second battery is great. The little sweeper blower is so practical to use. Someone made a comment it’s not much more powerful than a blow dryer, it is not a 200+ mph blower that’s for sure, but even if it is true, how many times haven’t we had to get the blow dryer for an odd job outside, but constrained by the cord. The weed eater is good in that you have a tool you can use when you run out of mixed gas, it’s happened to me before that I can’t do the weed eater until I head to the hardware store to get a can of 2 cycle oil engine. Good tools, very serviceable and useful.

I was very impressed by the grunt of the wire feed trimmer. I have a yard that requires a lot of edging work. This thing chewed through all of it with gusto. The battery didn’t last for the full job, but I did ask a lot out of it. Blower works great too and it’s not loud. I used to have a commercial grade, 2 stoke weed eater and, while this coukdnt work as long as the gas powered unit, it was almost as good and much lighter. Good products so far.

This has been one of my favorite purchases from Amazon. I already had a Black & Decker cordless lawn mower that uses the same 40 volt battery, so I was pretty confident that these tools would perform well since they use the same battery. I have not been disappointed! Even if they were only average, this multipack is an incredible value for 2 cordless power tools, the battery, and the charging stand - take a look at the individual costs! And they do perform very well. They also have a good feel or heft to them, lightweight but not cheap feeling. This is my first cordless trimmer / edger and I was more than satisfied with the available power. The trigger switch does allow you to rev the power up faster if you get into something tough, but I found it cut through tall grass and weeds easily and edged along my sidewalks and curb neatly. And I love not being tethered to a power cord! I have a smallish front yard but I was able to trim along the foundation of the house, along the driveway, all sidewalks and curb and still had over half the charge on the battery. I have arthritis and have had back problems recently so I was happy that even with the battery installed, the trimmer is easy to manage, not too heavy and easy to hold at the proper angle. Attaching the shield and handle after unpacking were easy, by the way. And a reel of trimmer line is included with the purchase too. Switching the battery pack to the blower then I am able to clean up clippings and debris from along the curb, driveway, and sidewalks again before the initial charge on the battery pack is depleted. This is a light-duty blower , very easy to handle and the shape provides a good angle for cleaning up clippings and light debris from hard surfaces. Compared to sweeping with a broom it is a great time (and body) saver - perfect for quick cleanup! It is not a heavy duty blower , it will not blow large heavy wet leaves around your yard, but perfect for sweeping up. I get at least 20 minutes steady use from one full battery charge. Charging time is pretty quick, less than an hour but I usually leave the battery on the charger for several hours just like with a cell phone, to give it a good charge. Because my lawn mower came with two 40 volt batteries I am able to get all three batteries charged up mow my entire yard, trim and use the blower all at once if I like. I like that Black and Decker has an entire line of outdoor cordless tools that use the same battery, and will probably buy more. But even using one single battery it is possible to trim an entire yard in one afternoon even allowing time to recharge the battery while you have lunch and maybe a nap 😊

I have about 1/2 acre of land that I maintain here at the house. I used to have a lawn care business back in the day so things like stihl and echo were common brands that we ran with. I'm a lot older now and I don't have the lawn care business anymore, so for me, I only use my equipment at my house. Last year my weed-wacker went out. I've been eyeing a battery operated weed-wacker for some time now, but I wanted to make sure before I purchased one that I was going to get a good value for my money and that it was going to outlast the amount of property I have to trim. Ultimately, I settled on this Black n Decker 40 volt setup with the added blower as well. I have to say that I am extremely impressed. Most of my trimming is done along fence-line and street side. I was quite impressed with its ability to charge straight through some of the tougher grass that I couldn't even get to before last season ended because my old weed-wacker died. The battery lasted long enough for me to trim the entire yard AND to blow off the patio and sidewalks with ease. It is extremely lightweight, especially if you are coming from gas powered equipment, and it lays and balances perfectly while being utilized. The one thing I found most interesting was the telescoping handle on the weed-wacker. It can be adjusted for those who are taller and those who are shorter to have that ideal reach for your height. The blower was powerful enough to muscle through the season-beginning wet junk that was embedded on my patio. With the very quiet operation and the strength to handle my toughest projects and being easily maneuvered without having to deal with the hassle of gas or electrical extension cords was really nice. I would highly recommend this duo to anyone who is on the market for a new weed wacker and/or blower combo.

My husband needed a new trimmer, his old Black and Decker set was starting to nit hold a charge after about 5 years. He says this one is great and unlike the old one that needed two batteries to complete the year, this one only needs to one. He seems very pleased with the performance and ease of use. The battery indicator is a plus, he puts it on the charger when he is done mowing and the next day when I feed the dogs I push the button to see if its full and then remove it from the charger for him. With the old one, there was no way for me to see if the battery was done charging or not.

When these arrived and I first saw the box, I was like, "Hmmmm... I don't know. These don't look like they're going to cut it" (no pun intended!) So, I bit the bullet and charged the batteries (comes with one; I bought another). The next day, my husband and I went out and trimmed a bunch of weeds and edges of the landscape, then blew away whatever was in the driveway and walkways. I have to say, I'm impressed! I didn't think they'd hold up, but they're pretty damn sturdy and very lightweight!! We have an acre of property and the battery stays charged the entire time, with energy to spare. Great little investment!

I own two of these. I am a former gas engine guy - who thought electric battery powered products were whimpy. NOT this one! I bought the second one for my brother to use at his house and I wanted the blower. The blower - ROCKS! Buy this product with zero worry
