I purchased this item for my Acer Aspire E5-573 series laptop because it was overheating while playing video games; Wow and Warframe. After about 15 minutes of playtime my laptop would be extremely hot and the games would lag. I bought a $40 laptop fan from Target but it was terrible. I searched Amazon for a cheaper and better alternative and found this Opolar Laptop Cooler. I am VERY happy I found this. My boyfriend, who works in the IT industry and is self-proclaimed 'techie', was really skeptical about this cooling fan. Once it arrived and we tried it out he was truly impressed by how well it works. This is really easy to install and use. I imagine it will fit any size laptop as long as the vent is on the side or rear of the laptop. Package comes with various sizes of silicone shrouds, a USB cable for power and the mounting unit. There is no need to buy the extra mounts that are listed as a recommended item. Fan is pretty quiet except for the max setting. Max setting is a little loud but nothing to be upset about. I never use it on max setting anyway because the lower settings work just fine. The only negative feedback I have is that it isn't really a portable option in the sense that you can't use this and have the laptop sitting on your lap. You need to use your laptop on a hard, flat surface so that the cooling fan stays flush against the vent. The unit itself is very portable and I'd rather pack this away than a large, clunky, plastic, lap-friendly cooling fan. I always use my laptop on my desk so this is not a drawback for me but I thought it was worth mentioning. Overall this is an awesome fan and I highly recommend it. You really won't be disappointed. I purchase from Amazon A LOT but rarely write reviews. I was so impressed with this gadget that I had to give my opinion.

First of all, I have to say that I was skeptical about purchasing this off brand accessory for my laptop but after receiving it and installing it. I have to say that this is product is AWESOME!!!! My laptop cools down in seconds. I would recommend this to anyone running a high powered gaming laptop or anyone looking to keep their laptop cool which extends the live of the internal hardware. *******UPDATE******** Hi Everyone, I wanted to update my review on this laptop vacuum cooler. After using the product extensively, appropriately 120hours. This is the most amazing laptop cooler ever!!!!! The laptop I'm using is a Toshiba Qosmio X70 running a 4th gen i7 and GTX 770m graphics card. Its a powerful laptop that generates alot of heat and has had major heating issues. After using this cooler, my laptop has not heated up and shut down once since I installed it. The palm rest on the laptop usually heats up and burns my palm and arm but the laptop stays cool through a full day of use. The optional manual speed control helps when playing videogames because it sucks out all the heat from the laptop in seconds. Again, I would recommend and purchase this product again. NOTE: Since the product uses USB to power the cooling system, the speeds at which the fan spins depends on the USB version. If the product is plugged into a USB 2.0. The fan won't spin at full speed. USB 3.0 allows the product to function at its full capacity. This isn't specified in the product description. Regardless, this product works wonders. Since I've only been using this product for a couple of hours. I will update my review after I've tested it for a longer period.

Hey guys. I have a 2017 MSI Titan. 1080 gtx 16gb memory gpu, i7 core processor 24gb ram, its massive. I wanted something to help cool this monster while I am hard core gaming. This beast has 4 main exhaust vents, two on each side 2 inch high and about 3 inch wide and two large Lamborghini style exhausts in the back. These little coolers will fit on the sides of this laptop. It does help suck the hot air out. See the pics. I have another on the way for the other side and a cooling pad for the bottom for ultimate cooling powah. More serious note. Its good, does what it says. Before you buy measure the vents on your laptop. It has many different speeds with the settings. It is a bit loud when you have it on full blast mode. But its fixed by wearing good head phones. I tried to get every angle I could with my phone so.... enjoy. Hope Opolar sends me something cool for giving a legitimate review. pun intended

Simple, but super effective! Comes off easily for transportation, and the build quality feels great. In testing, I rendered some 4K video footage until my laptop's processor reached 205F. While the laptop was still running, I locked the Opolar cooler in place, fired it up, and watched the temperature drop to 150-160F, never going above that temp. Awesome product, I will take mine everywhere. The entire top plate of the laptop where my wrists lie feels cold!!! I am using a Toshiba Satellite P75

This is way better than a previous vacuum fan I ordered. I have been having problems with my laptop over heating (temps ranging anywhere from 85 C - 95 C when trying to multitask or play any games on it. It IS a gaming laptop, but those temps were messing with the performance so yeah, gaming not so great.) and really needed something to help pull the hot air out of the system, yet I also wanted to have the ability to continue using my 12 cell battery (which raises the back of the laptop, thus it is not allowed to sit flat like most other vacuum fans I saw require); as well as the an additional Cooling fan underneath the system. This fan allows both of those, while offering a superb performence for automatic fan speed, and the sound is no louder than the fan that is IN my laptop. At first I worried that, with the location of my vent, the mount would partially cover the intake air vent. I am extremely happy to say that is not the case, it does NOT obstruct the intake vent! The auto-speed is great and keeps the fan from staying at it's highest speed when not needed, the silicon cover gives it great suction capability and the 'arms' hold onto the laptop firmly but not so firm as to really put any pressure on the case of the laptop. It is well worth the $26 it is listed for, as it can save hundreds of dollars damage that could be cause by overheating. (O.o, I would hate to loose everything on it due to that, especially when such a small device can help. I'm thinking about purchasing a second one for my friend who also has an older laptop.) ((P.S. I did notice that mine only came with two silicon sleeves. I forgot about that until I rechecked the box it came in, but it was no big deal as it has the one that fits my laptop, the other one would probably just stay in the box with the other one that does not fit my laptop. Yes I am still giving 5 stars, because that is the quality I feel this product has. I will update again in a few months to let y'all know if it's still working the same or not.

I bought this for my Lenovo M53 Tiny desktop because the CPU temperatures run hot on these. I couldn't use the included mounting kit because it would end up blocking the power plug, so I made a couple brackets and bolted it directly to the back. Without this, the CPU would creep up to 100°C when running @100% CPU (seti@home for example) and the CPU would throttle back to save itself. The onboard fans don't kick up to high speed until about 105°C, if you set the bios to run full speed, it sounds like a vacuum cleaner, and there's no room in the case to add another fan. So, after installing this, I ran seti@home at 100%, let the temp rise to 90°C, then turned on the fan to "Auto" mode, it immediately cooled down about 15°.

This thing is amazing!!! I have an older laptop that I use as a media server. It continually overheated and shut down. Since I installed this amazing vacuum fan, I've had no problems. Pros: Keeps the computer from overheating. Turns itself on and off based on the temperature of the air blowing out of the computer. There are a lot of different ways to connect it to your laptop if you need to. (I haven't used any of them, because mine is used as a server in a room I never go in.) Cons: The fan is loud.(This isn't an issue for me because it's in a server room, behind a closed door.) For someone who is using this on their everyday computer, this may be a problem for them. Bottom Line: If you have issues with your laptop overheating, this will 100% solve your problem. If the laptop is one you use regularly, you only have to get past the noise. (Headphones??) :-)

I have an HP Omen 15 that has a Intel Core i7 7700HQ and a Nvidia GTX 1050Ti. Most games I played didn't really have any heating issues. Once I play BF1 however the CPU temp in particular was getting up to 93c (the GPU temps stayed in the 70s though) and my laptop even shutdown once with a warning message saying it was due to an overheating problem. This is worrisome to me because I know that overtime high heat will reduce the lifespan of the CPU. I did some researching into the problem. I tried to undervolt the CPU with different settings using the Intel XTU software but it wasn't very stable regardless of what voltage I applied. Secondly it didn't resolve the high temp problems either. The temps still stayed the same. I tried reapplying thermal paste to the CPU a few times after cleaning it. I even tried 2 different brands of paste but the temps still were high. I finally decided to try this laptop fan cooler so I bought 2 of them to attach to the rear vents on my laptop since my laptop doesn't have any side vents. I also bought a laptop cooling pad Mystery Gaming Laptop Ultrabook Cooler Cooling Stand Cooling Pad-Fits up to 17'' & Smaller Laptops Ultrabooks Notebooks - Strong Durable ABS & Metal Mesh - Keeps Your Laptop Cool (Black with Red). My idle temps are now much lower and I believe it lowered my gaming temps by an average of 5c. The temps are still in the mid 80s but they don't reach 90c + like before. The overheating issue is an inherent problem with these types of gaming laptops because they obviously don't have the internal space, cooling capabilities or improved airflow like a desktop tower PC has to keep it cool. The 2 stock internal fans inside my laptop are so small and you can tell they're barely moving any airflow through and over the heat sink pipes to cool them. Hence the need for an external laptop fan cooler by Opolar and a good laptop cooling pad. Overall I am satisfied with the product. I particularly like the ability to choose between manual or automatic control. If you select the manual control and set it to full blast (setting number 13) it's definitely louder but it can pump all that hot air out fairly fast and steady. I also like that you can put a permanent mount using the 3M adhesive base. It definitely keeps the fans in place when using them. The fans are still removable from the base in case you need to travel with your laptop. Also note that your laptop's USB port might not be able to power 2 of them at the same time so you many need a powered USB hub or connect them to USB wall charger like I did with mine.

Great item. Completely exceeded my expectations. Maybe one of my best purchases ever. I had serious doubts this thing would connect properly although I never doubted the idea nor the output of the fan. After about 10 minutes of playing around I figured out how to connect it with the right shroud, and the very ingenious slide on/off feature so you can quickly remove the entire unit if you have to thrown your laptop in the case and run out the door. Bottom line - take the time to connect this right and it works flawlessly, literally has breathed new life into my laptop which has a faulty stock fan. It literally 'blows' away any laptop cooling tray you could use. Highly recommend using the included 3M mounting tape which attaches the base place harness to the bottom of your laptop. This way, the fan apparatus slides right in and the shroud comes up to the laptop making a seal. Think of some space movie you've seen where they have to dock a shuttle with an larger mothership, and an airlock with seal comes and attaches to the craft. That is exactly what happens here for a nice airtight seal. The springy silicone shroud accomplishes this. The unit itself attaches to the base harness plate via a metal clip system which is also secure but easy on & off. Lastly there are two tiny arms that swing out (this perplexed me for the first few tries) but once you figure this out, it's the last secure step to stabilize the unit from the TOP of your laptop. This is the part you see atop, the two tiny gray arms that grip the side of your laptop near the keyboard. These work in tandem with the metal bracket out of view on the bottom. Here's the 'cool' part - when you need to take the unit off to stow your laptop in it's bag or head to the coffee shop or airport, the entire unit slides right off in 2 seconds leaving NOTHING on your laptop but the permanent tiny 3M harness which is on the bottom of your laptop but does not protrude or stick out in anyway. Therefore you'll have no problem storing your laptop or popping it into your laptop bag or sleeve. This is one incredible design feature and at first deterred me from buying because I didn't see this explained too well. Rest assured, the whole unit is completely and easily removable in seconds, and only takes about a half a minute to reinstall. Once its on and your laptop is running, it's up to you whether you run it in auto mode where it senses the temp or if you want to run it in manual mode and pick the speed yourself, but read on to learn some important differences between auto & manual. There is one major point here to note - if you are using this on a laptop with a broken stock fan, yes it will actually replace the need for a new onboard fan in most cases. You could never do this on a PC which can burn out a processor if overheating, but on most laptops the stock fan is routed in a series of venting pathways that simply vent to the outside where this unit attaches. By attaching this unit and having it on, it basically keeps great airflow going and I have never needed to replace my faulty fan and I use my laptop everyday (if there's ever a problem, the PC senses a possible overheat and hibernates or shuts down your PC well before damage occurs. I only know this because it happened a few times before I got the OPOLAR working and setup. Now it never happens. Anyway the reason I am taking the time to go into detail here is, if you have a laptop with a faulty fan and are buying this unit for this purpose, you HAVE TO RUN THE OPOLAR IN MANUAL mode from the moment you turn on your laptop and do so by kicking the speed up to at least 7 or 8 (pressing the speed buttons converts the unit to manual mode). Here's why: of you keep the unit in auto mode, it attempts to sense the temperature coming out of your laptop and will not suck enough air until it thinks your laptop is heating up and needs it. Well, if you have a faulty built-in fan that isn't blowing enough air, your laptop can overheat before the OPOLAR even knows it needs to start blowing faster, because the hot air is sitting in your laptop and not getting to the thermostat in the OPOLAR because your built in fan isn't moving the air! The solution for this is to run the OPOLAR in manual mode right away it gets the air moving immediately by pressing one of the speed buttons. Even with a faulty fan not running at all inside my computer, I can run my laptop normally with this amazing unit. Most people wont need to go through these steps, but if you have a bad fan and the repair shop tells you its going to cost as much as a new laptop to fix it due to it's location, then the OPOLAR is your best friend, and mine. This thing works WAY better than a cumbersome cooling tray. Also make sure you aren't blocking the bottom intake vents, and your laptop is sitting high enough off the table. I installed some extra rubber feet on mine to give it another 1/4 of lift so more air can get underneath to the air intake. Sometimes keeping the laptop on your pantlegs or a couch can totally block the bottom intake ports and no fan will keep your laptop cool if you make this mistake. If there's any small negative, it's that if you transport your laptop in and out of a case often, you'll need to remove and reattach the main cooler to the laptop each time. This is generally a quick process but it's a precise process of lining up the sleeve and slot, at times it's a little aggravating but not the fault of the product. Sometimes the metal plate disengages from the unit and I have to reattach it, I'm fixed this problem with a piece of electrical tape so it never comes off. A small price to pay for an excellent item. I like it so much I'm getting a spare. Totally amazing product and I have no relationship to the company. I just love great engineering and great products and this is one of those.
