This is an excellent portable, great sounding small radio/recording player entertainment device.

Very versatile for its price and a great sound that may be played and listened to privately or publicly as a radio or recording player. I use it personally to play Bible recordings in personal study of that Book and at times as a recording player or radio to listen to recordings of music when I travel away from home. I gave it a five star rating because of its practical usefulness, reliability and its low price great sound.

Great Deal On The Perfect Personal Sized Boom Box

I am so delighted to have this wonderful compact-sized boom box and to be able to have access to cassette tapes and CD’s that have been languishing for far too long. This is an excellent boom box for the price and I went a step further by ordering the “scratch and dent” model which knocked a few additional dollars off. And no, there was no scratch or dent that I can see, just a slightly damaged box. Sony is a reliable product to begin with, and Sony on sale is even better!

A GREAT BUY

After spending much time reading the reviews for various boomboxes, I am pleased that I purchased this one. It was well packaged and arrived quickly. It meets all my needs as I like its compact size, not bulky, great carrying handle, and lovely sound. I take it w/ me for retreats and use it upstairs away from my large stereo system downstairs as I live in a condo and sound carries. I did purchase the extra guarantee but have not needed it.

Sony battery boombox

Bought this to blast xmas music on our golf cart for the annual golf cart parade and it worked perfectly! SUPER great speakers... GREAT volume and clear sound. Honestly, was surprised because it's battery driven. Compact... I'm gonna eyeball about 9 or 10 inches across about 6 or 7 inches tall. We played CDs but it also plays cassettes if you still have some of those. Only thing I wish is that it had a remote control - it would be a 10 star then.

A good cassette player

I bought this item in order to have a reliable cassette player that I could trust to play back my old tapes without destroying them. Previously I had bought a couple of the cheaper tape players currently on the market; they variously played back too slowly, "ate" and destroyed the tapes, or just stopped working after playing back only a handful of tapes. Quality standards for manufacturing cassette players seem to have declined since the heyday of that medium. This device, however, is different. Sony seems to have kept up the quality with their cassette players. This device works great. Now I can archive and preserve my old recordings from decades ago. I am quite happy with this purchase.

We wanted a digital tuner radio and found this one. It meets our expectations of finally finding a radio with great reception in the house. This is our third radio in 3 years. The other two had lousy sound and the stations would get static. 5 star radio!

This radio is a replacement for an older model that no longer plays. It was easy to set up and while the sound level is not as good as that of my old ghetto blaster, it does play CDs, tapes, AM and FM radio stations and allows favorite stations to be quickly programmed in. To the discerning ear, the Mega-Base is a nice feature. It is made in China and is a nice addition to the household at the price.

Was what I needed

I was found this to be what they advertised and works properly. The last boom box I bought was so bad (not a Sony) that this seems like the best thing in the world. The radio is true digital (not analog with digital readout as on my last one) and tunes easily with good sensitivity and selectivity. On my first try I was able to receive both New York City and Boston on AM. Able to pick up all the local FM stations that I normally listen to. The only downside is that it has only 3 presets. I find the sound to be good, not the same as a high end home stereo but good for a boom box. I bought this to use for listening my class lectures which are on cassette tapes, CDs and MP3 files and it handles them very well. There is no off, only stand by but since I usually leave it plugged in on my desk it should not be a problem. If I need another for my class work I would by it again.

I'm glad I bought this

This is working out fine for me. I wanted something to listen to CD audiobooks on and I'm happy with the product. I was also happy to see that it includes a cassette player in case I want to break out any of my aging cassettes, which I haven't listened to in years. I'm also enjoying listening to the radio once in a while. Everything is working as I hoped for it to, so no complaints here.
