Great design, great product
Finally! A sprayer that works and works well. First, the design is well thought out, with a clip to secure the wand to the housing and a cup that protrudes at the bottom to rest the wand's tip in so it doesn't make contact with the ground while testing or refilling. It has a red safety valve that you pull on to release pressure before opening the unit to refill it. Be sure to use that valve first to avoid getting a fine mist sprayed in your face. I thought I would need the shoulder strap to carry the weight of 1.5 gallons of liquid, but after the first use, I tossed out the strap for 2 reasons: a) it's actually more comfortable to carry the weight by the comfortable grip on the plunger handle, and far more important: b) when you're filling the tank with water and chemicals, the strap naturally drops to the ground where it ends up wet with both chemical and water. I placed the strap over shoulder the first time, and afterwards discovered that my white shirt was ruined by a large, long dingy yellow stain from the chemicals. Even worse, I had carried the tank by the strap for an hour with my shoulder soaking in a mixture whose label cautions: 'if solution comes in contact with skin, rinse the affected area for 15-20 minutes before calling Poison Control or your own physician'. So never again on the shoulder strap, but I totally recommends the sprayer. I've only used the brass nozzle, which puts out strong but controllable coverage. For any area from an inch to a foot wide, that nozzle works great. I've now sprayed out 5 tanks, and I'm thrilled with the product. My only suggestion to improve the product would be that it would be nice if the 'maximum fill line' were more clearly marked on the tank.

Excellent high quality value for pest/spray applications
2 Gallon sprayer holds exactly enough volume for permiter of 1/4 acre lot AND perimeter of house. I wouldn't go smaller. The plastic bottle is thick and strap comfortable to wear like a messenger bag. I adjusted it looser so I could stop and pump the bottle as I spray. The hose is thick yet flexible and long enough I didn't have a problem reaching the spray 10ft away to get over bushes. My favorite features: - Metal tipped nozzle + 2 plastic varying size nozzles. - Metal nozzle can be tightened to provide a straight stream or mist. - Cup on the bottom keeps poison from leaking when stored. - Handle is firm and not loose. Its comfortable to squeeze without fatigue. - Strap is thick enough to comfortably carry bottle over shoulder without sliding

Great pump...even BETTER if you change the pump seal. See picture.
Best sprayer I've used, and I've gone through many. Word to the wise, if you use vinegar and dish soap instead of the expensive store bought weed killer, don't leave the pump immersed in it for long periods of time. I did exactly that and it caused the bottom seal of the pump mechanism to shrivel up and lose the ability to seal. I bought the "Roundup 182349 Universal Lawn and Garden Sprayer Repair Kit with O-Rings, Seals and Gaskets" for $4 on Amazon to fix it. In fact, after I installed the seal from Roundup, the pump worked better than the day it was new. With the 3 gallon tank about 90% empty (meaning a lot of room for air), about 10 pumps is all it took to fill it up with air! Even when this was new, I had to pump it 20-30X to get it full of air. For the price you can't beat it! I've own three other tanks prior to this, one being an expensive backpack type, and none lasted more than one season of 1-2 month usage. Even the $150 backpack tank failed after three months...and with no rebuild kit available, it went in the garbage.

Perfect sprayer for the war on Fire Ants
I had a cheap 7 year old Big Box store sprayer that I had not used in about 5 years. I got it out of storage recently and quickly discovered it would not hold pressure due to the pump cap gasket was deteriorated. I decided to upgrade to a better sprayer instead of trying to find a replacement gasket which the store did no have in stock. I purchased the 190216 (2 gallon) based on the reviews and high ratings received. Upon receipt, and before using, I removed all the seals and O rings and applied a liberal coating of silcone grease (Jet-Lube Silicone DM Dielectric Grease). By doing this, the seals and O rings should remain soft and be better protected from the chemicals used in the sprayer. I also disassembled the pump assembly as shown in the operating instructions and found the inner barrell O ring had a very good coating of grease already applied, so none was necessary at this location. I assembled the sprayer and it works great. Very well made. I plan to rinse and dry the sprayer after using in the hope that it provides me years of service. Also, for Fire Ant control, I use and recommend the Acephate 97UP 1lb bag Generic Orthene Insect & Fire Ant Killer also available on Amazon. I mix 1 and 1/2 teaspoons per gallon of water in the sprayer. Spray the ant mounds late in the evening and the next day there will be no more fire ants at that mound.

Original problem solved. Sprayer now is a winner.
ORIGINAL REVIEW - UPDATE IS BELOW This should have been a five star review. Unfortunately, there was a significant problem with my sprayer. After trying other sprayers I thought I had found "the one". Specific features I wanted were a discrete overpressure relief valve and seals resistant to most chemicals. Got them, good. What I didn't get was unexpected. I didn't get a sprayer that pumped up well ,or at all, right out of the box. After contacting e-mailing the manufacturer and getting ZERO response I decided to investigate. I found the large o-ring surrounding the pump piston to be too small to get a good seal during pumping. This could be due to (a) The groove the o-ring is in is too deep or (b) the o-ring used was not thick enough. In order to get it to pump I had to put an expander behind the o-ring to increase it's diameter. I used several turns of another Viton o-ring as the expander. So now it works but only by using a work-around and with no help from the manufacturer. UPDATE: After writing the above review I was contacted by the manufacturer who immediately sent me a new pump assembly. The manufacturer admitted that my original pump may have been shipped with the wrong size o-ring. So, to be fair, I think the problem I experienced is unusual and should not take away from what is otherwise a fine sprayer. I think 5 stars is now in order.

My last one cost $40 and lasted 7 years but never worked as good as this one
I use my sprayer a lot so I don't skimp. My last one cost $40 and lasted 7 years but never worked as good as this one. The old one only had one nozzle and no inline filter to keep dirt out of it. This sprayer has five nozzles and a large filter (white filter on left of photo) that is easily removed for cleaning. The handle is large and has plenty of leverage so your hand does not get tired. I have only used two of the nozzles. The yellow one is a narrow spray that is good for limiting your coverage to a small area. That allows me to hit all the weeds in my yard with a gallon of spray. The black plastic conic shaped one is for long range streams. It allows me to reach the top ridge of my roof with a mold treatment while standing on a ladder that just barely reaches my gutters. I am 70 and have no desire to climb onto the roof.

it is an excellent product. The 5 heads give it very good ...
This came today & I tried it out immediately. As far as a sprayer goes, it is an excellent product. The 5 heads give it very good flexibility. The brass head goes from a very fine mist to a strong but not incredibly coarse stream. It will shoot the stream straight up about 15 feet, 20 or more on an arc. The build quality and materials are excellent for the price. It is really a solid unit. It is not often I get something where I can say it exceeded my expectations. This sprayer does just that.

The best sprayer I've used bar none
I've used (and discarded) a number of sprayers over the years. I started with the dirt cheap ones, and they tended to last about a season or two at best even when well cared for. They didn't work well even when they did work, however. So, I upgraded to the "better" ones at the big box stores. Those lasted longer, but still didn't function all that well. So I thought I'd step up to the DB Smith "Professional" model, having read the good reviews. I am just floored by how well this is put together! All the parts and pieces are sturdy; the pump action is smooth; and everything works perfectly. It also has a number of convenience features such as a clip to hold the spray wand in storage, and a cap at the base that catches any dribbles from the nozzle when it's not in use. The control lever is comfortable to use and has an on latch that flips on or off easily. It has a pressure release knob to quickly bleed off the pressure after you're done. It comes with a shoulder strap, and the main body is translucent so you can see the fluid level easily. It comes with a collection of tips including a foaming nozzle, a fan nozzle, and an adjustable cone nozzle. The manual is nicely detailed with tips and photos on maintenance. Icing on the cake: it's made in the USA. They make a similar model called the "O" style which has straight sides to the tank. This model (they call it the "R" style) is teardrop shaped. It offers more stability since it has a lower center of gravity, plus it has the cap at the base I mentioned earlier, which the O style lacks. But, according to the manual, the guts are the same for both styles. The only difference is the shape. I can't speak to the longevity of this since I've only used it a few times, but it seems like I'll be able to get several years out of it. I'll update the review as needed should problems occur. They also make a 3 gal. version. I went with the 2 gal one since I already have a 3 gal sprayer that is working well. But, should that die on me, I'll certainly replace it with another DB Smith. Highly recommend! UPDATE June 2017: Still going strong. Zero problems and everything (including the seals) has held up very well.

Perfect for tree spraying.
As they say "The right tool for the right job!" This is the right tool for spraying trees and bushes. Using for personal residence use on our 25 ft olive trees and other fruiting trees to control the fruit. Extra wand length, spray attachments, and spray control nozzle help get to higher places and hard to reach places. Comes with several spray attachments (nozzles) that are a little confusing how each one works, so you just have to try each one - they all have different spray radius and distance. Easy to use. Had been using lower cost canisters with less features, but this one makes the extra cost worth it. Would buy again!

I love it. This is the ONLY sprayer we found ...
I love it. This is the ONLY sprayer we found that has an adjustable brass tip. You can change the width of spray by turning the brass tip. The tip is long enough that it is easy to turn with gloves on without getting your gloves doused with chemicals. I have another sprayer which only came with plastic tips. You either had to unscrew and remove the fitting to change the tip or rely on a plastic nozzle with poor control. This sprayer holds up to two gallons, has a shoulder strap and a clasp on the side of the tank to fit the wand into it as well as a tray underneath to catch any drops from the nozzle when done and protect the tip. The only thing more I can say is that I wish I had two.
