Perfect for what I wanted!!

Overall, this floor lamp gets 5 stars because it does exactly what I wanted and expected it to do. Here's a brief explanation: I bought this for my office at work. My office has too many glaring overhead florescent lights. They cause glare, eyestrain, and by the middle of the afternoon - headaches. But, I have a wall of windows. So, I started working with the office lights off - using only the light from the windows. That works pretty well. But, a bit of extra light from the inside of the room was needed to reduce shadows and balance the light in the room. This floor lamp does the trick. It provides the light-balancing I needed/wanted and adds a warm, soothing glow. As an extra bonus, the lamp has the 'wood' feel that matches my desk, etc., so it doesn't seem out of place. Also, it has a couple of shelves to house a family photo and a couple of other small things that make my office feel a bit more personal and relaxing. The only reason for 3 stars re: 1). assembly, 2). brightness, and 3). sturdiness are because: 1) it does require a lot of assembly due to the efforts of the manufacturer to ship it in as small of a box that they can accomplish [not a criticism, merely an observation - it's packaged amazing well and everything arrived unharmed]; 2) it isn't a bright light that will illuminate an entire room; and 3) it isn't a high-end piece of sturdy furniture construction [nor, does it claim to be]. It's top heavy due to the lighting fixture at the top. So, it works best if placed in an area where it won't be disturbed. - - However; none of those things were a requirement for me. I just wanted a bit of extra light that wasn't overbearingly bright. I wanted something that looked nice, provided a bit of extra light to my office and didn't seem industrial. I also wanted something that felt warm and comfortable, and also would fit in to the traditional wood/oak appearance of the office furniture that I have. In other words, I was looking for something to fit in. - This lamp does all of that. It's perfect for what I wanted. I couldn't be happier. I'm thinking about getting a couple more - another for my office, and one for home. Here's the bottom line: IF you're looking for an inexpensive lamp that looks nice and also feels warm / comfortable - you may like this. But, IF you're looking for a high-end sturdy piece of shelving and/or a room light - this may not be what you're looking for. For me, it works. I'm happy and considering buying a couple more.

Simple and Elegant

I dislike assembling things, especially furniture but this was put together without a problem or incident. All the components are well marked and packaged so nothing will be damaged. In the box there are four rubber feet and four plastic caps. The instructions specify to place the four plastic caps in the bottom holes and the rubber feet are not mentioned. I placed the rubber feet on the bottom covering the screw holes and the plastic caps covering the top holes; it just made more sense to me. Power cord management is a nice feature.

Sturdy, easy to assemble, and a perfect solution to limited space!

After much research, I ordered two of these for a small room I was converting to a second bedroom. Space was limited, but I had still wanted some sort of nightstands and lamps on either side of the bed. I actually have one of these in the darker wood in my own bedroom upstairs, and have loved it and never had any problems with it, so I finally decided they would also be perfect for the limited space in my guest bedroom. I am a 60-year-old woman with some mechanical ability. It took me just under an hour to put the first one together, from opening the box and sorting through parts while enjoying a glass of wine, to tightening the last screw, inserting the bulb and turning it on. The instructions are very confusing, of course, but it’s all still pretty basic if you can just refer to the diagrams. Second one took me less than 35 minutes and a second glass of wine, with just a few glances again at the instructions. The natural wood color is beautiful, and I’m very happy with them. The box arrived undamaged, all the pieces were in good shape, and everything fit together well. I would definitely recommend these lamps to a friend.

Perfect For My Office

This lamp is exactly what I was looking for at a fraction of the price in lighting stores. However! A few warnings. I comes disassembled in a box (although Hubby had it together in a blink). I'm using it in my office at work to light a dark corner and it sits back in the corner great. If it were in, say, a family setting with a lot of traffic and running around it might not last as it's pretty lightweight. And NOTE.... the shelves can only hold a maximum of 6 pounds so whatever you put on there better be pretty light! The IKEA light just like it is twice as much and has a cheap, white, plastic shade. This shade is a very pretty off-white linen fabric and I liked the fact that the frame came in many finishes. All in all for the price, this lamp is an excellent product!

Durable, Relaxing, Attractive Lamp

I bought one of these lamps, and I liked it enough to buy a second. Now, I haven't had them long enough to review their longevity, but the lamps are really pleasant. The diffused light through the shades really makes my living room quite serene in the evening. Having some extra shelf space is nice, as well. My kids have their caddy full of pencils and other items for homework on one of the lower shelves of one lamp, which is nice because it was usually left on the kitchen table. The lamps were quick and easy to put together, seem fairly durable, and are well-designed. Sometimes you get a product and no matter how well you follow the directions, the item ends up crooked. These lamps are perfectly level and look fabulous. I'm thusfar very happy with these lamps. I hope they'll last many years in our home. I will update if needed.

Really solid and attractive lamp for the price

When I first got this, I noticed the box was rather small, and when I opened it, it seemed like every virtually every single piece was individually wrapped in plastic and virtually none of it was assembled. I thought "what a pain this is going to be!" However, as I started putting it together, I saw the care they rook into making each part was protected from damage and in the end, the whole thing took me only about 10 minutes to put together. The end result is a lightweight but beautiful and sturdy, unique-looking lamp that looks exactly as I was picturing it would when I bought it. The one-page, fold-out instructions were really well written in easy-to-understand English with a listing and coding by letter of all included parts. Made it really easy to figure out. They also included an additional screw of each type in case one was missing, got lost, etc. The box also included a 800-lumen LED bulb. I chose to use an 1100-lumen LED I had on hand as the included bulb is a bit dim for my tastes. Glad I got this, and I would not hesitate to buy another Brightech product.

So simple a child can put it together! Every piece was wrapped in plastic wrap so it wouldn't be damaged and it even came with its own lightbulb!! Perfect for small spaces -I got two, one for each side of the sofa. Great alternative to bulky end tables and lamps. We have 800 sq ft apartment so these are perfect for our space. Further it matches ikea expedit (cube shelves) birch color perfectly (I got the light color lamps.) I can't say enough great about these lamps. The light they give off is very comforting and lovely. Only thing I would suggest is buy two because the wattage (60 watts led bulb) is not enough really to read by because it is diffused by the lamp shade. If you have two, the light is good to read by. I am even thinking about maybe buying another one of these for my office area. This does not come with tools. You will need a philips screwdriver. I used an ikea electric screwdriver. Worked perfectly.

Dim light. Lightweight. Excellent price for what you get.

This is my 7th Brightech product that Ive purchased. Some reviewers complain about the quality, but really this is a value brand with semi-upscale looks and average-at-best quality. Ive never been disappointed thus far for what I paid. Youre not going to get Restoration Hardware quality for Walmart prices. This unit took about 15 minutes to assemble, some of that because I initially ignored the instructions. One thing to note is that it is very light. You will need to weigh it down with books, basic decor will not suffice - IF you have this on carpet which will naturally make it a little uneven. It is not very bright, but thats perfect for me. You could always swap a higher lumen bulb.I use it as a nightstand and lamp. I would not recommend this as a reading lamp though. The multiple shelves can be utilized well relative to a standard single level table.

Quality seems right for the price. Not cheap, but not fancy. Just right.

This lamp looks nice, the paper glows nicely and doesn't shine directly below - there's paper below the lamp as well as on all sides (but none above). It does need to be assembled, but it's pretty straightforward - easier than IKEA. The cable can be routed nicely with the little clips that come with it. I use a few pieces from the sticky foam pad to make it so those clips don't slide down. I think I'll buy another one soon!

Super Cute and Easy to Assemble

This floor lamp is super cute and really easy to assemble. I put it together by myself in about a half-hour while I was watching TV. The legs simple screw in so you don’t necessarily need tools. You can use a phillips screw driver if you want to tighten the screws/bolts. The light is soft with the linen shade so it’s perfect for TV room light- not to bright. It won’t light up the room, which is what I wanted. It’s not flimsy but I wouldn’t but anything heavy on it. It’s a nice piece to look at and adds a modern flair to the room. I needed someting to fit in the small space between my sofa and loveseat. This was it.
