I only have ball pythons but this hook is perfect! I use it mainly for my big girls that are around 1500grams but I also use it to open my tubs when I’m feeding as well. It’s very sturdy, comfortable to use, and very high quality. It’s basically a golf club with a hook at the end. Nothing is loose in the way the hook is connected to the handle and seems like it will last a lifetime. You can’t beat the price either! You will not regret this purchase.

I have had/used a lot of hooks over my life, all the way from hooks I made myself to expensive professional ones, so I feel quite capable of judging quality and utility. Although it's officially "cage" sized, I purchased it (as a professional herpetologist) to use on international field expeditions as the hook that's easiest to fit in all luggage and that is always with me, even when the expeditionary gear bags with the longer hooks and tongs aren't. While some snakes I encounter will be too big to safely handle with this, the majority won't, and I love being able to pin things just long enough to buy myself a few extra seconds to be 100% confident in my identification, especially when working someplace new. Great construction, good weight - I can't wait to use it!

Great snake hook. Durable and strong. Now I'm not afraid to handle my snakes when they're having a bad attitude.

I like how I am able to use it to pin the snake and be able to reach for it. You want to be able to get a good hold on the snake and my reach fits this item very well. Measure from your hand to the center of your chest to size your stick. My size is 36 inches or less.

Absolutely fantastic hook! Strong, durable, and shiny. I raise bci and bcc, and this 33" hook has been fantastic. I can easily handle adults with it, and its light, and nimble enough to handle babies too. Very, very well made product. I will recommend this to all my fellow herpers.

With the hook being so balanced & light weight, it makes this is an incredible Snake Hook. Even though it's very light weight, don't let that confuse you with how sturdy it is. I even noticed a hand written note on it stating "Enjoy, Mark" which was a nice touch!

Where do I start? I've been keeping reptiles for 15 years now and as everyone knows, a good snake hook is a necessity in this industry. This goes beyond that! Such a beautifully balnced, comfortable instrument. I'm a journeyman tool and die maker as well so I know quality machining and manufacturing techniques when I see them....this is the best hook I've ever used by a mile. Highly recommend you get a Doc. Personal email from owner of the company on purchase, his signature on the back of the hang tag on the product. Fantastic buying experience!

I can't help but talk like Steve Erwin while using this hook on my massive reticulated pythons. I am unsure if it is because the spirit of that great man flows threw the hook or if it is because I am a dork.

I bought this to replace my 26" collapsible snake hook (similar to the Zoomed model) that my snakes got too fat and heavy for it to support. This thing is like the tank of snake hooks! Think golf putter with a snake hook at the end. I have great distance from my striking snakes when they're super hungry, but I can also grab further down the shaft if I need to get a little closer. It's a high-quality product that appears like it will last forever, provided that you only use it for what it was intended and not for sinking golf balls.

I recieved the package in short time, and in excellent condition. Was very Satisfied with the shipping. I was reluctant at first to use the hook, because of its light weight. I used it on my common boa. At 22.3 pounds. The hook handled her full weight and did not bow in the middle. I then used it on adult and juvenile western Diamondbacks. The hook was perfect for the largest, down to the smallest. It's a great length and kept my hands out of strike range, while I moved them for cage cleaning. This is a great book for anyone who has need for a hook. I would recommend to my friends, and will be buying some more for myself in the near future.
