Our sleep trainer recommended this for our 2-year old that just recently began climbing out of his crib (boo!) and moved up to a toddler bed. The rail piece that came with the toddler bed was very short and would provide more coverage she said. Well, we were apprehensive especially my husband who was worried about the bars under the mattress being uncomfortable for our "big" kid. Turns out he LOVES it and so do we. It makes him feel more secure (like his crib) but he can get out of bed easily still which makes him feel like a big boy. Glad we purchased this (I don't usually leave reviews!) and wanted to share with others.

Couldn't be simpler to put together...didn't even need instructions. The reviews about needing to mount underneath the bed frame to get away from "mattress sag" due to the 2 bars are a joke. The mattress absorbs the thickness of the bars, no problem. This is perfect length for a crib mattress. It leaves just enough on one side for my daughter to get in and out of the bed on her own. The only con I can see is on the fold down feature. It's a bit of a pain to release the mechanism to be able to fold it down. It snaps right back into place going back up though. But it doesn't matter, I won't be using the folding feature anyway. Great bed rail.

Overall good product. We have been using this since right after Christmas since a "big girl" bed was our Christmas gift for our 2 year old and it had not arrived yet. She is a climber, mover, roller and this has done a great job. She can get out on the sides, which is completely normal. It was a simple and cheap fix for her crib. We have another baby on the way so I was looking for something that would not be permanent/damaging to the crib as we will be using it again in July. I also knew that her new bed set was coming with guardrails and I did not want to pay for the ones that are $99 that go perfectly with the crib. Fits great on the crib and the mattress settles nicely on top of it. It was very easy to install. I did it myself at about 2 to 3 months pregnant and it took me less than an hour (including the time to take the crib rail off etc). Instructions were very easy to follow. I should mention to she likes to lean on it/play and she is 32ish pounds and holds her fine. I would definitely recommend to any fellow parents who do not want to spend a ton of money on the "ones that go with the crib".

The directions were easy to follow. I had a slight frustration putting the lower bar in with the jointed bar. Took some muscle but I got it in. Other than that it is locked in and not going anywhere. It was either this or a $60 wooden rail that was supposed to go with the crib. Needless to say, I am SO happy I purchased this instead. It's longer and a bit taller than I expected, probably because the other guard rail was so minimal. I am one happy customer and my little monster has already put it to the test, zero budging.

We were looking a long time for a rail like this. Hubby broke one of the rails on the crib side so we were forced to upgrade her crib to a toddler this bed. This rail came to the rescue! It was easy to install and did come with directions that were easy to understand. It took me about 5 minutes to put it together and on the crib. I really like that if attaches to the metal frame with a latch and clasp. I also like that it is mesh and doesn’t obstruct the breeze my little one loves to have on her when she sleeps. We looked in all of our local stores and none were like this one. I will definitely bug again, but probably won’t need to. We’ve been using it for about 4 months.

My husband installed it, but I don’t think I he had any issues with it. The bars being directly under the mattress are my only concerns, as far as possibly being uncomfortable or ruining the mattress, but it’s been a few months and so far no issues. It stands up well to my 3 year old climbing all over it and it keeps him in just fine. The mesh is very breathable if he ends up pressed against it. This was 1/3 of the cost of the toddler rail that I would have had to order to convert my son’s bed, so I’m thrilled I found this.

I like how you need two adult hands to collapse it. My toddler just converted from the crib bars. She's a very active tinkerer. I leave the rail down while she's playing so she can get up and down. I've watcher her on the monitor actually put the rail in the up position all by herself and it it locks into place automatically without pinching her fingers. She has tried to pull it down, pull herself up and push/kick at it while playing and it stays in place. Wish I had this when her older brother (now 20 yrs old) was her age. Back then we only had the rails that had the L shaped legs that just slid under the mattress and he would just push it out and get stuck between it. Things have improved so much over the years.

Highly recommend! I had to install it a little differently than instructed however. When installed directly under the mattress, you can totally feel the bars underneath and it was very uncomfortable. I raised my son's crib frame up one level and then installed the bars under the frame rather than over it. Now he can't feel the bars at all and it still works perfectly. It is solid, secure and isn't budging. My son rolls around in his sleep and this keeps him from falling out of bed yet leaves enough space at the ends to get out of bed safely by himself. I am very happy with this purchase!

Some months before her two year birthday, my child climbed out of her crib for the first time and hit the floor. Immediately I looked into a rail for her crib. I am so happy that I chose this one over the toddler bed rail intended for her convertible crib. This is a perfect length so that you can set it up as needed, and leave a bit of space so your child can climb in and out. Our child is a bed traveler while she sleeps, and can wind up anywhere in the bed, and at first I was a little unsure of how low this rail looked on her bed, but it's been perfect! She hasn't rolled out of bed once, and it hasn't hindered her ability to get in and out of bed. This is a great item for transitioning your toddler from a fully enclosed crib to an open sided bed. We also felt it was easy to install. HOWEVER, I am with those that suggest installing this on the bottom instead of the top of mattress frame, but I don't even consider that a negative, this product is so great.

I was hesitant to buy this especially because the price seems kind of steep. There seemed to be quite a lot of bad reviews about the same thing so I assumed there had to be some real problems with the product. However, ive installed it and there is no major gaping or indentation in any part of the mattress. There were also complaints about having to buy zip ties to secure the frame but my package came with belts included so this was not a problem for me. There were also complaints about it being difficult to install but the instructions were very easy to understand so I’m not sure what that’s about! Overall, I’m happy with my purchase. The fold down is also easy to use but I probably won’t use it much. I will edit my review after a couple nights of use if anything unsatisfactory comes up.
