Gimp is a great program. You can download it for free, but I like having it on a disk (along with the menu).

Great product

I like this software, I see lots of potential for using it to improve my photos. My only problem is I am not real computer savvy so this will take me some time to use it as fully as I could. But for the price it was well worth the reasonable price. My initial want was for something very simple that I could use to crop photos to use in my paintings. I will learn to use it and it will do what I want.

Gimp for the noob

Easy to install and use. The user manual is a must to download however and it is the part you need to learn to use first. I’m just learning photography and after I take photos it answers the question of what to do with them next

Probably a great product Too complicated for me

This has great reviews and I got the DVD to have it on hand BUT it is just too complicated for more and way more than I need. Microsoft discontinued my old photo editing program, "Microsoft Digital Imaging 10" in all their wisdom...It was basic enough and did the limited things I do and you could still get "fancy" with it..I didn't.. I don't mind paying for a program/app BUT I want it to be really basic and do what limited editing I want to do.

Love it! Although I probably need some classes, I was able to download and use this program. I had Photoshop and Publisher and found them really confusing to use for the novice. I am an author and design all my own book covers. This program allowed me to use my original artwork and create a professional cover without having to hire a cover designer! For the price, this is hands down the best buy!

Good Product. Maybe even great.

Arrived on time. Well packaged and easy to install. I haven't played around with it yet but very quickly pulled up a picture and did some editing. This is going to be great. A note came with it with excellent loading instructions and an address fo getting support.

Great product and customer service.

When I received this the CD was cracked during handling. I emailed the customer contact and was quickly provided a download site to retrieve the product. The product is very powerful and does a great job manipulating images. The learning curve is steep but not any more difficult than the 'Photo-shop" products that cost 10x more. I would recommend to anyone that wanted to do image manipulation...

Gimp is powerful enough to satisfy most amature photographers

Gimp software is an intuitive photo editing program, that at a fraction of the price of Photoshop, allows anyone the chance to create some incredible artwork from their photos. At $10 for the CD, Gimp is powerful enough to satisfy most amature photographers, and perhaps even some seasoned pros who are looking for an alternative to Adobe's yearly ransome. I am a pro photographer, and I refuse to subject my privacy to the cloud. I just got Gimp and have been pleasantly surprised by the myriad of features it offers. While it is not Photoshop, it does have the ability to keep the average hobbyist busy.

Sure, you can get GIMP for free if you're willing to monkey with the download...but I like having a copy on disc so if anything goes south on one of my laptops i can load it on another quickly and efficiently. GIMP is also a great program, I took digital art and Photoshop classes in college, so if you can learn Photoshop, you can learn GIMP. The learning curve is kind of steep, but once you master it, you have powerful tools at your fingertips. GIMP is also a friendlier program, the layout is better, and doesn't have Photoshop's Darth Vader control panel with tiny icons that an older gentleman like myself can't see.

This is a full blown program and much of it is above my understanding now. But there are tons of help on the internet just Google your issue.
