**Note, this is a rear-rack mounted bike seat. You need to have a rear-rack or install one to use this child seat** The Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi Child bike seat is a great product. It is well built and constructed and it is evident that Thule put a lot of thought into this bike seat. Here are some features I really like: 1. Extremely easy install (less than 5 min) 2. Lightweight 3. Soft padded insert seat for child's comfort 4. Keyed lock to secure child bike seat to rear frame 5. Adjustable chest harness and leg supports. 6. Child-proof magnetic harness lock. The number one thing I like about this bike seat is how EASY it is to install. I'm not kidding when I say it took me longer to open the box and read the instruction than to install the bike seat. Again as I mentioned above you need to have a rear-rack to install this on. The bike seat simply goes over the rear-rack. Once over the rack you turn the dial (clockwise) at the back of the bike seat to secure it to the rack. Once secured, look under the bike seat and ensure that all four "feet" are around the rack. Then insert the provided key to and lock the child seat to the rack. Lastly, fasten and secure the security strap from the child bike seat around the adult bike seat. That's it! We have two adult bikes with rear-racks in our household so it is easy to remove this child seat and install on the other bike. The weight of this child seat is only 6.5 LBS. Its very lightweight so it doesn't add too much weight to your bike. Other bike seats I've used are significantly heavier. The soft padded insert seat is a nice feature. This provides comfort to your kiddo's while out for a bike ride. It is a nice foam padding that also helps to absorb any bumps in the road. The keyed lock on the back of the bike seat is a great security feature. It does not allow the bike seat to be loosened or removed without the key. This bike seat is something that can grow with your child. It says it supports children up-to 48.5 LBS (9 months - 6 years). The chest strap is adjustable and features a 5-point safety harness. The leg supports are also easily adjustable. The child-proof magnetic harness lock is impressive. It is clicks into place using magnets and cannot be removed unless you insert your finger and apply a lot of force then slide the lock over. It is something that a child cannot do on their own. I did want to mention one issue I came across. This has nothing to do with the bike seat itself but rather my bike and the kickstand. My bike is about 10 years old and is maintained well but the kick stand does not seem to support the weight of my 30 LB toddler in the bike seat without me holding the bike. It makes it a bit tricky to place my toddler in the bike seat while holding the bike itself. I am going to swing by my local bike store to see what they recommend. I'm sure they have a heavy-duty kick stand that can remedy this situation. Lastly, I wanted to mention the impressive Thule warranty. We own a few other Thule items and we've never had to use the warranty but I like that Thule stands behind their products and offers a great warranty. This bike seat carries a 5 year warranty! Light, easy to use, seriously well built child seat

Thule has a long history of making various racks for bikes on cars, but has more recently ventured into other sporting items: backpacks, luggage, strollers, and bike seats for kids like this one. They make seats for your child to sit in front of you or behind you. The Yepp Next Maxi is a rear rack mounted child seat that will hold kids up to 48.5 pounds. It is suitable for kids 9 months to 6 years old. As far as your child is concerned, he/she can look forward to a soft cushioned ride, thanks to the shock absorbers built into the seat. It is adjustable to grow with your child so you should get a few years use out of it. Has a waterproof seat, although most of us don't ride around in the rain with the kiddies. But if you do, the last thing you want is the seat cushion soaking up water like a sponge. Fitting it to the rack is a one step process, goes right on and is locked into place. The child is secured with a 5 point harness and a buckle no child will be able to undo. The best feature is the light weight and high back. Kids often fall asleep when riding: no stiff necks or bobbling heads. Thule put a lot of thought into this child seat, and it pays off with a lightweight, sturdy, easy to use seat. Get one! Its a great way to include your child in your bike rides. Highly recommended.

Easy to attach and remove

A breeze to attach and remove the child seat to a bike rack. Locking system securely attaches the seat to the bike and a strap wraps around the seat pole for added security. You need a special key to lock it to the rack (included). The latching system to secure your child is well thought and easy to use. The adjustable foot pedals can be a little difficult to move, but this is minor since you will only need to move them as your child grows. For its sturdiness it is surprisingly lightweight. My son fits comfortably in the seat and sits high enough to be able to see around and has plenty of room for his feet. His feet are securely attached to the bike seat so that he is not able to kick me in the back as we ride.

Excellent quality and easy to install

This bike seat is pretty impressive. We've used several different bike seats over the years for our little ones and this has to be by far the lightest one we've encountered. It's very well made and was a snap to install on the bike rack we have mounted on my husband's bike. The seat is comfortable for our little one and there is ample padding in the seat. The harness lock is easy to release by a parent but I suspect it will be near impossible for little ones to undo unless they're a practiced Houdini. The foot rests for the child are very easy to adjust and I like that there is a strap to hold their foot in place so you aren't getting kicked by your toddler while you ride. As with every other Thule product we have used, this one is top notch quality wise.

Baby and mom love this

Love this thing. It's way lighter than I expected, making it easy for me to load onto the bike. I'm short, so height is a bit wieldy, but anyone over 5'2" probably won't have any issues. Easy to secure straps and doesn't wobble. Recommended for bike lovers. Baby will love it, too.

Perfect for my Pedego ebike!

This is the only rear child seat that would work on my e-bike. I have a Pedego with the battery in back which is too wide for any other rear child seat. I have ridden with him in a front seat for years but now that he’s 40lbs and getting taller it has gotten harder to ride with him in front... i was happy to see that Thule addresses this issue! It was easy to install and my son loves it. Of course it’s a little top/rear heavy and you have to adjust to compensate but that would be the case with any rear seat i would think. He gives it a thumbs up for sure!!

Makes it so much easier with the baby sitting in front, and they get to see more!

This is a great seat for a young toddler, not for older toddlers. It's easy to install and great for riding bikes. Fits easily and is much easier to ride than you would think...and this way you aren't spending your whole bike ride looking behind you at the child seated behind you... makes it much easier!
