This is a neat leather tool kit. It is pretty good quality, too. Better than I anticipated. The set includes 2 pc Pressure cloth tooth (4mm and 2mm), 4 types of Awls, 3 colors threads, Adjustable groover, needle kit, Thimble, Beeswax, scissors and Finger cots. It's a neat kit for DIY leather work, but also other projects. I haven't done leather work in many years so it's like starting over. There aren't any instructions included so that's a little bit of a downer, but I have been able to do internet searches to figure some of it out. While I am hoping to attempt some leather pieces for my son for his archery stuff, I also am going to use these tool for crafting on my gourds when they are dried and ready to work on. Besides the missing instructions, overall, I am pleased with the kit.

I have no idea what I'm doing with these tools since I've never worked on leather before today. I also realise this review is a bit premature since I have only used them once and probably not the right way. I got these to repair my husband's AWP Tool Pouch (Suede) since they have been making them with horrible quality and the seams for the belt loops and the grommets at the corners have come undone. 3 pouches, less than 3 months, same exact thing. So, since AWP has horrendous customer service (like non-existent) and never sent the replacement they offered like a year ago, I decided I would get this kit and try to resew the seam and reinforce the corners. I went at it with one of the needles and thread included, and used the pointy tool to open extra holes. This is thick suede and 2 layers of it and I wondered if the tool would just bent or come right off the handle... It held up great! I put all my arm strength into it and it went through both pieces. I checked out the other tools and they all seem to be great quality. The thread was great. I pulled an hard as I could and it did not break, so it is very strong. I can't wait to figure out what the rest of the tools are for and how to use them!

This is great. Even came in a little box with everything separate. Has a little book/guide to tell you what everything is. THEN it even comes with a zip bag that ACTUALLY holds everything without having to cram it inside. Bag is thick enough that the tools wont poke through easily. Thimble is even of good quality that you can use it. GREAT starter kit for anyone wanting to start working with leather.

A lot of the tools are frail or not sharp and everything else is just a cheap quality- I suppose it's okay for the value, but I didn't expect to break tools already. Edit- the seller sent replacement items that worked better. So far so good.

I was surprised by this set while looking for tools. It had some needed pieces that other sets didnt have! Plus their products are really great. I got their set of multiple colors of threads and the stiching pony. I think my favorite tool was the skivving knife. I have been using a razor knife and craft knife and they dont do a good job. I used the skivving knife to cut some ends and was thoroughly impressed, now I need a round knife! The adjustable edge tool has a bunch of tips and it does different tasks. I had a basic one, but wanted the multi use one. I keep my basic set for my stiching groove. It has a sewing needle handle, I'm going to be working on a heavy belt and that's going to be perfect for it! Theres stamping tools and a swivel knife, the swivel knife is nicely made and has nice weight and is very sharp. The letters are very crisp! Definitely a must purchase for a leather worker or hobbyist. The tools are all well made and the wood handles are very nice and well shaped. Fantastic kit! Would buy again! I trust this vendors products. I haven't had a single issue with the tools or how they came. They are definitely packed well and treated so they wont Rust. You need to wipe the treatment off before you use them or touch your veg tanned. I had already cut my bag pieces so I didnt get to use the tracing paper. Instructions were included they are definitely more clear then my picture was!

I can not believe the value you get with this kit. If I had purchased all of this seperatly it would have cost a small fortune. But this kit has it all and for a great price. I have already started making a lamb skin blanket out of peices and this kit has all the tools I need. very cool.

09/02/17 update review. New photo shows the holster I was able to make using this tool set. Of course sombre trial and error has happened since my first review but this tool set is the foundation upon which I have built over a dozen quality holsters with.

This all in one leather sewing kit is perfect for any small jobs. Whether it be fixing a torn seam on your leather jacket, punching some new holes in a belt, reinforcing a seam on a couch cushion: this has all the tools that you need. It comes with 1 x Adjustable Stitching Groover 1 x Black pressure cloth tooth distance of 4 mm 1 x Log pressure cloth tooth distance of 2 mm 1 x Solid wood awl 1 x Straight head awl 1 x Hook the awl 1 x Hollow awl 1 x Ecru flat wax rope 150D 1x Black flat wax rope 150D 1 x Coffee flat wax rope 150D 1 x Leather needle 1 x Scissors 1 x Thimble 1 x Beeswax 2 x Finger cots All of the tools are sharp enough to punch through 1/4" to 1/2" leather or vinyl. The running tooth awl spaces the punches at a decent distance so that you won't get hand fatigue. The leather finger cots are a bit small at first, but they are made from very soft leather, like deer. They will stretch with the heat from your hands and use. There is a metal, wraparound for your finger to help push the needles through the leather. Better to use this than risk a puncture wound from the needle in your finger. There are no carving tools with this, so you won't be able to do some scrollwork or decorate designs: this set is strictly for sewing and repairs. The thread is waxed and good quality. It is the same diameter as catgut and has a nice even finish. If the thread is starting to lose its grippiness while you are sewing, you can use the block of beeswax to add more. This includes a stitchripper, file and other tools that you may never use, but its good to have them. You can use the needles or the awl when sewing. If you are putting some patches on your kutte, repairing your leather saddlebag or simply expanding your belt...this set is the way to go. Everything fits into the zippered pouch for easy storage. Although there is no instruction sheet about use: you can go onto YouTube to look up leather repairs specific to what you want to do and someone will have posted one. If this helped you, can I get a 'yes' from the button below? thanks!

This kit was much more than I expected, very happy with the quality of the items and happy that there was a pamphlet detailing what exactly everything was in the kit. It comes packaged in a small box that holds a LOT of stuff and also has a cute poly bag with hexagon design on the outside for carrying. So far I've used the groover (great!), two or three of the needles, the sewing awl (great for large holes and wider gaps for stitching), the normal piercing awl, one of the wool daubs, the beeswax and scissors (great for thread cutting, not for leather cutting). I can't use the finger sleeves/covers, but I didn't really buy the kit for those anyways. This is a great kit for a beginner trying to get enough tools together to get started. If I get further into the craft, it's likely that I will buy higher quality items once these wear out in a year or two, but a great economic purchase in the meantime. Thank you!!
