I was pleasantly surprised that all I had to do was plug this into the usb port on my windows 10 lenovo laptop and and icon appeared on my desktop which let me register my finger prints and immediately use the device to unlock windows without even having to reboot first. Moving it to another computer just starts the registration process over again but it looks like you could probably move this back and forth between computers once you have them both setup to use it. At this price probably easier to just get one for each computer though. The fingerprint scanner on my phone had me spoiled and I knew there had to be something similar for laptops and desktops. Was lucky to have found a good one on my first try.

This product is great. The drivers however have to be installed using Device Manager. There's a PDF installation guide available for detailed set up & driver installation, but I can't recall where I got it from. :| Other than the slightly tricky driver installation part, this product is a breeze to use when all is set up & working correctly. It really can read your fingerprint in about 0.15 seconds, but if you don't keep your finger on the sensor for at least 0.15 seconds, it'll briefly blink a red light & fail to read the fingerprint. Overall, this is a very nice product & I give it 5 stars... :)

This is one of the two fingerprint readers that Synaptics announced in their press release that supports their Natural ID technology. It appears that this is the first one to hit the market because I've been looking for both products daily ever since their announcement in early January. I've tested it on the MS Edge Demo site for Web Authentication (FIDO 2.0 spec) and it works flawlessly. I can't wait for the FIDO technology to be widely implemented by the online community, especially banks and retail. This is going to be a game changer once the support for it grows!

Seriously, this is life-changing. I have been using fingerprint readers on my phones and tablet for the last two years and it never occurred to me how much better it is than typing in a password or some silly line combination. Fingerprint recognition is the fastest and best way to do passwords; I touch the reader and my computer is on, no messing with the keyboard or tapping on the screen. The dongle is pretty small; one of the photos I uploaded shows it next to a logitech unifying receiver. It's a hair bigger, but it's solid; I'm not worried about it bumping on something and getting damaged or anything like that. I actually got a 2-pack and these will now be permanent parts of my desktop and laptop. I used windows 10 Hello, which is baked right into the operating system; I didn't need to install anything. worked right out of the package.

This fingerprint reader works perfectly with my Windows 10 machine. Your computer must first support TPM (I had to buy a TPM chip for my motherboard). Once I installed that, I installed the fingerprint reader and software. Then I enabled fingerprint reading in Windows Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options. I added fingerprints for a couple of fingers, and can now log in by touching the reader. If my computer is locked and asleep, I touch the reader, the green light flashes almost instantly, and the computer is logged in at the desktop. My monitor takes longer to turn on than it does to log in.

I got spoiled having a fingerprint reader on one of my laptops and then I purchased a USB one for my workstation and came to realize the one big drawback on my HP Spectre x360 was no fingerprint reader. This little guy works perfectly with Windows Hello and makes logging in a snap. On top of that, having Windows Hello enabled gives you easy access to other things that require authentication, such as viewing passwords in Chrome... just tap on the view icon in Chrome and swipe your finger. I wish this was a bit thinner because it does stick out quiet a bit on my Spectre, but I like the silver and it blends in really well and I like that it lights up green when it is ready for input. I initially had some issues at first during setup because Windows 10 found the drivers and said it installed correctly and it showed up in Device Manager, but Windows Hello wasn't recognizing a device... but a reboot solved that and everything works as it should.

This works extremely well. Very easy to set up on windows 10, and is super fast. When booting, if I press it before the login screen, the screen is basically bypassed and it goes straight to the desktop. Highly recommended!

I bought this to use on my custom desktop computer. I plugged it in, the driver installed automatically, and then when I went to setup Windows Hello, it worked flawlessly. Enpass Password Manager can use Windows Hello and so far it works amazingly. Instead of typing a pin or password to login to Windows, I tap my finger. Same for my password manager, don't skip a beat. I highly recommend this device and will be obtaining more of these for other devices. Oh, and I tested this on my Surface Pro 3 and Surface Book and worked great (Surface Book doesn't need it due to facial recognition). Once you start using this, it's too hard to go back to typing in pins or passwords. I've registered my finger multiple times (in different parts and angles) to ensure that no matter how I touch it, it will work and so far, unless I completely miss it, it has worked. I stuck mine in a top facing USB port which is right next to where my mouse sits.

This fingerprint reader exceeded my expectations. The setup was extremely simple on my Windows 10 PC as the drivers were automatically downloaded and installed. I simply had to go into my security settings and set-up Windows Hello and everything simply worked as expected. The fingerprint reader is extremely quick and I rarely have to try and unlock my device multiple times. This device has greatly reduced the number of passwords that I have to remember and I no longer have to deal with the hassle of changing my password on my computer every three months.
