This Product is a Savior of Relationships - I'm Not Even Joking
We moved recently into an older rental home, the type where for some bizarre reason they didn't believe that people would EVER want overhead lights, but instead, inhabitants would prefer a multitude of lamps, and those lamps would only be on one side of the room, connected to one light switch. Enter my boyfriend, who also decided that the TV and PS4 should be on that side of the room, despite all hard evidence such as cable hookups and three pronged outlets, that the house was basically set up so the TV should go on the opposite side. Yeah, you can see where this is going. PS4s and other gaming systems are not really made to have their power abruptly cut off, and when you plug in a TV & gaming system into an electrical outlet controlled by a light switch, directly by the front door... well, it's bound to happen. And it did happen. And almost crashed the PS4, which miffed the boyfriend, who didn't appreciate the reminder that someone had predicted this would occur. Said boyfriend for some reason was also not interested in moving all the furniture and electrical equipment to the proper side of the room, citing glare from windows that couldn't POSSIBLY be covered with black out curtains... It should be mentioned that said boyfriend is a stubborn a** on most days ending with "y". So, Amazon to the rescue! I knew somewhere such an item had to exist, since inconveniently wired switches and stubborn mule partners have existed since the dawn of man's discovery of electricity! These light switch guards are a relatively cheap and more streamlined improvement over my original solution, which was a bright green post-it note taped to cover the offensive switch, cheerfully & helpfully labeled, "IF YOU TOUCH IT, YOU DIE!!!" I appreciate that my parents somehow also interpreted their installment as a sign of my developing maturity for some odd reason.... So, save your relationship! Impress your parents! Protect your electrical toys! All in one easy to install product!

Absolutely life changing. Still in astonishment
I've never seen a light switch plate cover a light switch as well as this light switch plate cover guard. I couldn't believe my eyes. This was probably the most excited I've ever been for a package. I waited at my front door for two whole days, and thank goodness for 2-day shipping otherwise I would've died from dehydration. I was so giddy when I got it. I immediately walked over to my light switch and unscrewed the light switch plate screws and reinstalled them with the guard over them. It was phenomenal. I sat there for another day just watching in amazement. And everytime I walk by my light switch, I get a little teary eyes because I'm so happy. This has truly been a life changing experience. Every single human needs to see this AT LEAST once before they die. I'd recommend several more times than once, though.

Works perfectly
These work perfectly. I recently installed the Philips Hue system, and am controlling it with Alexa through an Echo Dot. I absentmindedly kept turning off the light switches when I would leave the room, which sort of defeats the whole purpose. These work great to keep me from flipping the switch, but still allow access on the one side if I would have to turn them off for any reason. Easy to install, and they are thin enough to use the screws already holding on the switch plate.

SO much better than taping over the switch!
I bought this to replace the Scotch tape that served as a warning for my family not to flip that switch. The problem was, of course, that occasionally I would need to flip that switch. I would take off the tape, which leaves a sticky residue, and then I'd clean it up and replace the tape... until next time... Then I found this. It was very easy to install, it looks fine, it doesn't draw attention to itself. And best, you can still reach your finger in at the open side and flip the switch whenever you need to. It's so serviceable, I love it! One note. I first accidentally purchased one that was meant to cover the flat-panel light switches that look like a seesaw. But I have the more typical toggle switches, where you reach over with your index finger and flip up or flip down. You really want to know what you've got before you order.

This switch protector ended my agony!
I have an electric piano from Yamaha. it just so happens that the electrical outlet that I'm using for my piano is wired to a nearby light switch. (I don't know why.) Just the other day I was playing "Rocket Man" by Elton John– verse two, stanza one— when my wife waltzes into the room wearing blue flannel PJ's. Then, for reasons only she can explain, she turns off the light switch and BOOM— immediate silence. The piano shut down, the keys producing nothing more than a dull thud as my temper flared up to the max. We considered going on a trial separation but decided to install these switch protectors instead. Gents, I'm pleased to tell you that they really did the trick! Now we're going to Turks and Caicos!!!! ASK YOURSELF: Are you the type of person who accidentally turns off a switch and then immediately regrets it? Well if I just described you, then this product is THAT YOU NEED. I know the deal, because I've been there: You have some important device plugged into an electrical socket, and you keep turning it off by accident. Or maybe it's the wife who turns it off. As soon as that happens: RAGE (followed by dispair). But there IS hope, because this device will block your finger from doing that bad deed! Remember that time your son Jacoby totally ruined your movie because he turned off the switch and your TV shut down as a result? Well that's not going to happen any more, because you're going to install these ingeniously designed devices. Just screw these in, right over the switch and you can rest easy.

Good product if you want to stop someone from turning off a switch to a heater or bedroom wall switch
This is a perfect choice for what I needed. I installed smart plugs in our bedroom to turn our lights on and off using Amazon echo. My wife and I were finding ourselves both getting in bed and then one of us having to get out to shut out the light so we connected smart plugs and tied them into Alexa to solve that. BUT, we realized that out of habit we'd shut the lights off or turn them on without thinking and I was afraid I'd have to keep reprogramming the smart plugs. This just go over the switch plate to stop you from doing that. You keep the open side away from where you would flip on the switch so if you had to you could use the switch but this way there are no accidental flips of the switch. Also good to prevent shutting off a heater emergency switch or a socket that has a clock and wall switch.

Looks good. Works with existing screws
I added some smart lightbulbs and use these to prevent turning the power off. One side is open, one closed. Make sure the closed faces the doorway. If needed, you can stick a finger in the open side to use the switch. It would also be good for a kitchen disposal to make sure you think twice before flipping a switch. It does not come with screws; on my 4 wall plates where I used these, the existing screws work fine. You might have to remove the plate entirely if your plate screws have a little feature which prohibits the wall plate screws from being separated from the plate. Love these. Will buy a couple more as I continue to smart-ify my switches and lights.

Simple but Effective
This is just what I was looking for! The picture makes them look a little odd. I've had a similar product in the past, and they looked a lot different, but these are even better. They were easy to install, and I like that they still give you access to use the switch, just in case you need easy emergency access to it. I got these after installing a few smart bulbs in my home to use with my Echo devices. From habit of using a light switch for so many years, I would still try to use my light switches even though I was trying to train myself to use the voice commands. After installing these over my light switches, I quickly learned that I can't use them anymore! But if my wifi ever goes out, I'm still able to turn the bulbs off.

These are great!
Wow, I am so glad I stumbled onto these light switch cover guards. I installed this in a rental unit where four people live to keep a new motion sensor activated porch light on at all times. When I first installed their new light fixture I taped a handwritten note on the actual switch politely reminding people not to turn this particular switch off so that their light would go on after dark when motion was detected. It was written on notepad paper and it looked terrible and my chicken-scratch for handwriting made it look even worse. When I discovered these switch guards online I thought this would look a lot better. I don't recall these being sold in major hardware stores but maybe I missed them. I'm glad to find them here and they look so much more professional and cleaner looking. See enclosed photos. If necessary during an emergency you could stick a pen through on one side to access the switch to turn it on or off. And you can have the exposed side facing either the left or the right. It doesn't matter. But from the other side it looks completely covered. The screws that hold the wall face plate in place were perfectly fine for holding this switch guard in place. I highly recommend this item.

Simple and effective way to prevent undesired swtich flipping.
Simple, very inexpensive, cast with a flexible material. This is a great way to cover a standard light switch to prevent people from turning it on or off unexpectedly (or when not desired). If you happen to buy into SMART light bulbs, you will find you may still turn the lights off from the switch automatically. This kind of negates the point of the SMART light, since you just turns off power to it. This cover will block you from doing that all the time. However, there are times when you need to turn off power entirely. The is a slot you can see in the picture, that is on only one side. It lets you insert a finger into that space and flip the switch. It doesn't prevent a switch from being moved (unless it is an abnormally large switch), it just blocks you from you impulse action you normally don't even think about. ** I deliberately point the slot away from the normal viewing angle because it looks nicer that way, without the enticing 'here is the switch' that little fingers might desire to flip.
