These boots look great, are true to size and very light weight - a quality that is very desirable for toddler boots. My 2 yr old is a size 5 and I got the size 6 based on other reviewers and it fits a bit larger as expected. He still can walk and run in them with room to grow. Right now his feet can get into them easily, will see how easy it will be to get them on when he is actually a size 6. I got the boots in yellow color and my child was very eager to wear these even when it wasn't raining and he looked comfortable with no rains and outside temp. in the 80s. He is a skinny kid so fitting in the calves is not an issue for him ( see pics for fit). Haven't tried these yet in torrential rains or even light rains but I am guessing it will be alright.

The rain has been unusually generous this year in California this year, and in the Bay Area it's been enough where sending the kids to school in rain boots hasn't been too bad of an idea. Unfortunately for us, this was the year that our son's Western Chief Kids Solid Firechief Rain Boot(Toddler/Little Kid/Big Kid),Black,1 M US Little Kid decided to develop a HUGE rip in the back seam and cause a miserable leak in my son's right boot. I purchased that boot in Nov 2015 and it lasted one rainy season as stormaggedon 2015 never actually showed up and instead waited until 2016-2017. The Crocs Rain Boots seem to be a great replacement boot. First off, these are much lighter than other rain boots. True to Croc fashion, these are extremely lightweight and molded into one piece with no seams. The boots are comfortable for my kid to wear, and he loves that they're literally half the weight of his old boots. He's had no issues with leaks, and because there's no seams, it's unlikely a tear would happen. I have been keeping an eye out for wear, and despite daily use, many stomps through puddles, and running around like an ant on speed, the boots seem to be holding up quite well to my kid's use. Unfortunately, like all other Crocs, these have NO type of lining in them. This was not an issue for us as it's an easy fix - simply wear a thick pair of socks and your kid is good to go. Another issue is that these boots do tend to run on a smaller size. Based on other reviews, I ended up ordering a size up (Size 3 instead of Size 2) and the boots fit my kid well. I can imagine the Size 2 may have been a snug, but can't positively say as I didn't order two pairs for comparison. Either way, there is a little wiggle room for my boy to grow into this boot. For those who have purchased Western Chief boots, those run big - I would go a size up if ordering the Crocs. Overall, great lightweight rain boot for kids - I'll update down the line when these wear out and develop leaks - if any.

I'd give these ten stars if I could! They are hands down the BEST rain boots I've ever bought. I just wish they had them in bigger sizes for our older children! The only thing I don't understand is why everyone says they fit small. I'd say they fit about right on to a tiny bit big if anything. I have bought two pairs and plan to get a third pair for my other child. They can pull them on by themselves with, with eight children is a HUGE deal! They are sturdy, (other pairs of only slightly less expensive rain boots don't even last a full season,) and they keep their feet dry. I love these! Please make them in larger sizes!

Just a note that the blue is not as pictured. I love the actual color and it was a pleasant surprise for me. But wanted to let others know in case they're looking for a periwinkle (light blue/purplish) that these come more as a cobalt / royal bright blue.

It's been raining off and on this year in Southern California so I decided to get my toddler some rainboots. I wanted something lightweight and comfortable that she would be able to walk around in. These are pretty good because they are light enough for a tiny toddler like my daughter to wear. The only issue I have with them is that it's kind of hard to feel where her toe hits and dont look super flexible when she moves around. She loves them though and wants to wear them all the time (no lie she wakes up asking for her boots sometimes lol) so I'm guessing it's not a big of issue as I think.

These are the best rain boots. We have been buying them for years as the kids grow. I don't think we will ever switch to a different brand, as long as they keep making them. The boots are squishy and comfy, made out of that squishy Crocks rubbery material, sot the super-hard rubber of other brand's rain boots. They are easy for the kids to get on by themselves, and they stay on until the kids take them off. Then, it is easy for the kids to take them off by themselves. They run just a little smaller than expected. When it gets difficult for the kids to put them on or take them off, I know it is time to buy the next size up. They are easy to clean, and have good treads. The kids love wearing them in all kinds of weather, all year long. They especially like wearing them to dance class because there's no velcro to snag their tights and they are so easy to get on and off when they change their shoes. They don't ever leak, as they are molded to be all one piece so there is nothing to come apart. My kindergartener is very rough on shoes, and she does not wear these every day, but she does wear them a lot. They have even stood up to her. The only wear we had was, one time, they developed a small rip near the top handle from her being too rough. It didn't bother her too much, though, and continued to wear them for about another month before she grew to the next size and we replaced them. Only one pair has done this, out of the dozens (?) that we have bought so far. I also like that they come in so many color choices. They enjoy picking out what color boots to get when it is time to buy the next size. I will continue to buy more of these as they grow!

My daughter LOVES her new rain boots. She's going to wear them to help dad when he goes fishing. She is 3 and just now transitioning into a size 9 toddler shoe (she's more like a 8.5). These fit her perfectly....which means they are a little smaller than her regular shoes (since her size 9 sandals are a little loose still). But any bigger and the boots would be too big...so I guess I'd say order the size your child currently wears if your child still has some wiggle room in their shoes.

I bought these rain boots for my 4 year old son over a year ago. They have held up magnificently! He wears them often, rain or shine, to ride his bike in, to pretend he’s the hulk, and just because he likes them. In our experience, the western rainboots have always cracked around the 1 year mark. Not these boots! They will be going for a ride on the hand-me-down train to little cousins! I will definitely be buying them again in the next size up!

The number one thing I love about these boots: the super light weight!! The attached pictures show the whole POUND less difference in the weight between a pair of size 8.5 "typical" toddler rain boots, and a pair of these Crocs in size 10. My kids have wide feet, so the second thing I love about these boots is the wider width. My kids can actually, easily, put them on themselves, without me having to stick my fingers into the back of the boot to force their heels down. Their shoe size is currently around 9.5-10W, and the size 10 boots have some wiggle room, so I expect them to last the winter. Another thing to love? The way the wide handles are securely fashioned into the boot, yet are above the top of the boot. I passed up a couple brands that cut handle holes down in the side of the boot itself, and I previously learned the hard way that the skinny stringy type rubber handles will break. These are perfect for small hands to yank on, and high enough that you don't worry about water sloshing into the boot through low cut holes. Last thing to love: they're easy to clean and don't have insertable insoles to get soggy, stinky, and/or lost. For colder winter weather, I plan to use heavier/warmer socks or double up on socks, since they aren't insulated. If your kid has normal to wide width feet, and wants to really enjoy playing in the rain, I highly recommend these boots.

UPDATE (DEC. 2015): These are still fantastic boots and have held up really well. As noted in my original review below, we ordered these four sizes up because we wanted to get more use out of them. Now that our son wears almost a 10 (he's about a 9.5 right now), these boots are too small; we cannot get his feet in them. So, I would say they run about 1 size too small. Hope that helps. ORIGINAL REVIEW (NOV. 2014): I must've spent two hours one weekend looking at all the toddler rainboots on Amazon. Most seemed more than I wanted to spend; many would warn that the boots were deceptively heavy and/or impossible to take on and off; and some boots would appear perfect until that one review would mention how the heel separated from the boot after just a few wears. Then I found these. To be clear: at first, I cringed that these were Crocs. But they were a decent price, and so I took a gamble. So far, so good, folks! We are quite, quite pleased with these boots, and here are all the reasons why: 1) They are easy to put on and take off--the handles help, but the structure of the boot works, too. 2) They are SO lightweight compared to other boots. For comparison purposes, I picked up my nephew's (same age as my son) rainboots and I felt like I was carrying two little bricks. Why is this important? Your young'un can (theoretically) walk more easily in the boots if they're lighter and the heel is less likely to separate from the boot. 3) The boots have no lining or anything, which we think is great--you can just leave them outside for the night, or hose them down, and you don't have to worry about any smell. Some things to note: 1) Order several sizes up! We went up FOUR sizes and they are working out great. We cringe at having to buy new shoes so often, so any time we can cut a corner, we do. And the funny thing is, the size 10s actually don't look much bigger than his regular shoes at all when you look at the soles. And I've also read that these boots run small, so if it's for a cost-savings reason or for no reason at all, it sounds like ordering up is the way to go because these boots run small. 2) Though the boots are lightweight, it may take some time for your young'un to walk properly in these boots. Our son looks like a wounded cowboy when he walks around in these, although it gets less weird every time he puts them on... 3) Our color choices when we bought this boot were "sea blue" (which is what we bought), fuchsia, and carnation. We chose the sea blue, but it's really pretty much periwinkle, which can lean a little girl because of the purple tones in it. We're okay with that, and by the time our son wouldn't be okay with that, he'll have outgrown these boots. But I bring it up because I now see a yellow color that wasn't available, and I see that others in the past have ordered black, so be sure to check back frequently. In sum, this is a great boot that allows our son to do his favorite thing in the world: chase his dog through puddles and try to splash the dog (who also loves it). The boot is easy to put on and take off, is easy to clean, and appears to be enjoyed by our son. We will definitely be buying another pair when he outgrows this one--we hope in a "boy" color!
