  • Easy to learn but serious chess-like strategy with just enough luck to keep everyone competitive.
  • Quality - over 50 wooden pieces with an organic, down-on-the-farm feel!

This game has simple rules and would be easy for young kids to play, but it also has enough strategy to be fun and challenging for adults. I've played it with several people and everyone always loves that it's so unique. One of my friends described it as "chess, but with farm animals and poop." I also like that most of the pieces are made on a farm in Virginia.

We love this game! I am not going to lie, as a huge Dave Matthews Band fan, I first bought it for that connection, but it has high replay value and I strongly encourage everyone to give it a try. It is really easy to learn but challenging for all ages. We play this as a family with our teenage sons. They put their phones away and don't even look at them the whole time. That is no small feat. The first time we played it they did it almost as a favor to mom, to humor me, but they have since asked to play again and again.

Our family likes playing board games on occasion. This game was a hit. Everyone likes it and the kids (teenagers) have incorporated it into our rotation of family games. It is challenging, but not overly so. It is easy to learn and encourages some laughs with the "pooping cow" The game also appears to be good-quality

I got a free copy of Chickapig to spread the word about on a different site, and liked it so much I decided to review it here too! Chickapig is a quirky, farm-themed strategy board game that works well for kids and adults. At first I was a little overwhelmed by all the pieces--there are 4 teams of chickapigs, a cow, a fence for the cow, 4 colors of hay bales, cow poop, poop cards, daisy cards, a dice, and a timer! But once I actually read the directions, I found the game pretty straightforward. The bulk of the gameplay is getting the chickapigs into their pens by moving hay bales strategically (chickapigs go in a straight line until they bump into something or someone else, so if you want to turn, you have to put an obstacle one square ahead of where you want your chickapig to stop and turn). I liked the variations suggested to make the game quicker and I think the 8+ recommendation is pretty solid, and that in general tweens, teens, and adults will enjoy it more than elementary age kids. If you like strategy board games and are looking for something new, Chickapig is definitely one my family and I enjoy and recommend.

LOVE THIS GAME! My wife and I are big board game players and we're always on the look out for great games that can be played with just 2 players. This game is wonderfully designed and a blast to play. It's very easy to learn, but hard to master. It's a little like chess in the sense that you have to plan your moves ahead and other players moves can totally derail your strategy. A very fun and fast game.

I am constantly looking for challenging 2 player games for me and my boyfriend. We’re in our 30’s and we love playing games like this. This is by far one of the best games I’ve bought for us. The rules aren’t complicated so the game can be picked up quickly, and the directions come with easy-to-follow examples. With simple rules and a singular goal, the challenge of the game is in the offensive/defensive moves of other players. I think this is a game that could be enjoyed by children (old enough to understand basic strategy) and adults alike. This game can be played with 2 or 4 people OR 4 teams of people.

This is a super fun game! My kids enjoy it as well. They are 6 and 8. They caught on quickly. Sometimes I help them strategize a little bit, but they can usually figure out moves they can do. Such a unique concept. Customer service with the company is great too. We ended up missing some pieces and duplicates of other pieces. I contacted them about it and they quickly sent the pieces we were missing. I was very impressed. Check this game out, you will not be disappointed.

We bring this game with us everywhere we go and literally everyone always stops to ask what we're playing because we're always laughing and having so much fun. This is our 2nd purchase of the game, we decided we needed to have one at home and one always in the car. We're a big game family, and we've played them all... there's nothing else like this.... it's easy enough to drink and play, it's strategic enough to keep us engaged and our games typically last exactly the amount of time we spend at a restaurant. You can eat, drink and play. Seriously, it's our go-to. Had to leave a review.

I just bought this for my 7-yo son for a Christmas. His two older sisters and my wife and I have grown to love it already. Rules are simple so it’s very light on the surface. First couple of play-thrus was each one of us trying to get our chickapigs into the goal. Today though, we really started PLAYing, that is to say working on strategy to draw out your opponent. When you play it that way and slow it down a little bit, really forecasting moves and trying to stump your opponents, it turns into a real game. We got four games this holiday (Azul, Sagrada, NY Pizza Slice, and this) and this is definitely a contender for the family favorite!

We were looking for another game to add into the rotation. My husband and I played a two player game with our 4 year old and had a blast. I wasn’t sure whether it would work but we all had so much fun strategizing, even my 4 year old was talking about how to block mommy’s pigs. Simple game but very fun. Suggested age is 8+ but I challenge that statement, younger kids would understand this with help of an adult. Definitely will be apart of our game nights with friends, especially where kids are in attendance. Not cheesy at all. This would make an excellent gift to a family with kids 8+. Pieces were well made and instructions were easy to understand, not complicated at all. This is my honest review of this game. Please let me know how If it was “helpful.”
