Warning Read before buying
At first I was excited to buy this product but nervous because of the negativity on the reviews. So I decided to buy walabot used for $52 (see Amazon warehouse deals). When I got it I watched a few YouTube videos how to setup and use walabot. After setup the walabot actually does as promised but in image mode it's a little glitchy showing the image sometimes lags. However in expert mode the app and walabot work much smoother and accurate in position where the wire or stud is. I think buyer's expectations were too high because of the commercial and pricing. $60 is worth Diy walabot but not $100. Hope this helps.

Great Tech item for Tech/DIY People
First off, this is a great little product. Basically a premium stud finder that alerts you to pipes and wires in the wall (if you're just drilling holes), or if you are doing work on the house and wondering where electrical and plumbing are going, a full-fledged wall scanner. My experience in stucco walls has been hit or miss, but my house is old and the stucco walls not very flat, so that may have something to do with it. Regular sheet rock, wood, etc. has been great. I even tried this on my floor to see where the water tube was that goes to my fridge, and it found something, but I haven't climbed under the house to verify! As a stud finder, it works great, as a wire and pipe finder, it works well, but since I try to drill in studs and not in pipes or wires, I can only positively say it found the studs! When I first got this, they had an older version of the app that just told you to "calibrate" the sensor on the wall. Not much explanation, and my experience with scanning was spotty. Some walls worked great, others didn't. The new app tells you to scan in a circle on the wall, and that has improved my results. My biggest complaint is that the plastic film you put on the Walabot DIY to protect the device comes off too easy. Less than a week and a dozen or so walls and it lost it's stickiness. They told me they are working on a new film, and even told me that they would send me a replacement, so that's great customer service. I liken this product to a Wifi Router. Most people only complain that the Wifi isn't working, and rarely praise it if it is working well. This is a piece of technology, and as such it needs people with patience and the ability to calibrate and trouble shoot. If you are the kind of person that would rub this on the wall, and upon seeing no studs proclaim that this is a piece of junk and throw it in a drawer, this is not the product for you. Stick with a stud finder or knocking on the wall. If you are the kind of person that will calibrate this on every wall (takes a few seconds) and take a second to wonder why you may not be getting the results you expected, than this is a great product for you.

Easy step by step setup
I was a little concerned because of some of the reviews that my cell phone (galaxy s7) would not work properly or it would be difficult to set up. That was not the case at all, it was actually a very easy step by step instruction on how to set Walabot Diy up. The product works as described, and was very easy to learn how to use. It worked very accurately and so far I haven't missed any studs, and more importantly, I haven't hit any pipes or wires. at some point this week, I will be working on a building with metal studs, If I do not update my review it is because it worked flawlessly. Thanks for making such an awesome software/hardware combo. I look forward to using it for more and more projects.

Easily one of the most important Items in my Toolbag!
I love it! I do not start anything to do with our walls unless I first look 'in' them with my Walabot. Period! This is easily one of the most useful items in my toolbag. It takes the guesswork out of it. Not only can I 'see' the wooden studs, I also can see the metal ones, pipes and electrical lines. Have not seen any mice or other crawlies yet-but that is a good thing. Not sure what the 1-star raters talk about. The Walabot does exactly what the product description says, but like with anything else: you must set the conditions for it to function properly-that means: follow the instructions. Also, I only use the 'Images' mode as it gives me what I need to 'see' I am an avid DIY-er and currently designing everything for the renovation of our 4th house. I customize a lot of our projects. I don't stick the phone and Walabot together with the disk as that is not required for it to function. Also, if your hands are small and you have a big phone, it is hard to hold on to the whole bundle.

Exactly what was promised
I don't know how many studfinders I have bought and lost, including the one I have in my garage right now. Somewhere. And it isn't the cheap model either. Now that I have used the Walabot I realize that I just have little confidence in them. Without going on and on, I followed the instructions on the app and had it finding wires and studs in minutes. It worked flawlessly, and exactly how it shows in the video. The gel pad to attach them woks great. In fact, a bit too great as it stuck well to my phone case. I had to very carefully remove it. Maybe the good folks at Walabot will sell these so I won't have to worry as much. It is a great solution, and I don't have a better one; I just want to be able to replace them if I tear it.

Maybe the best stud finder ever made, and more!
I can't say how impressed I am with this device! We recently purchased a new home and have been doing some minor renovations such as mounting cabinets, shelving, TVs etc. The device simply sticks onto the back of your android phone using a reusable gel style sticky pad, similar to a gel window cling. Plug it in and you'll need to do a quick and easy calibration and start sliding it along the wall and it shows you precisely where your studs, pipes and electrical wiring are! It seems to ignore the insulation in the wall making it pretty much one of the best stud (wire and pipe) finders I've ever owned. It seems to me, it should of been called "The Wall XRAY"!

Great for Professionals
If you think this product is going to give you a video image of what's behind the wall then you will be disappointed. But for those of us with more reasonable expectations it has proven extremely beneficial. It is very accurate for finding studs. You have to use your head and interpolate to locate wires. For the cost it is incredibly helpful. I am building a new home. The sheetrock guys buried one of my receptacle boxes but I wasn't sure exactly where. In 5 minutes I located the box next to a stud. I knew I had the box only after scanning a couple of times and seeing wires in different orientations. Exposed box with minimum sheetrock damage and minimum time. On the down side, I was trying to find an ethernet camera cable buried in the ceiling so I could drill and pull it out. The building mains wire (2 AWG) was 8" above the ethernet cable. It dominated the Walabot display and I wasn't able to accurately locate the cable. In that case, I wound up drilling in 2 different places. Luckily I was able to use an inspection camera and find the wire without making a huge mess.

It is not a real x-ray vision - but seems pretty darned close to me.
I have been a DIY guy for more than 50 years and have tool boxes at home, vacation house, office, RV, boat, for almost everything. As a design engineer if it is a new tool I'm interested. I have some old stud finders that work OK and new ones that work great. My most recent acquisiton was the ProSensor 710 Franklin Sensors ProSensor Yellow in 2015 which is terrific! Best stud finder I have ever used! Love it. So why did I buy the Walabot? We live in Panama City Fl where a "little" category 5 hurricane Michael came ashore last October (it has just been upgraded to a Cat 5 - 3rd strongest storm in history to hit the US mainland). We are still living in an RV at the office hoping to get back into our home in a couple more months. Really needed to add a LIBERTY 129848 Hook Rail/Coat Rack with 5 Flared Tri Hooks and knew that small office shower wall had not only power lines but Pex water lines. Trying to get a good contractor to respond is like pulling teeth with a pair of tweezers. There are now THOUSANDS of them but hundreds of thousands of jobs that desperately needed to be done -so making a mistake would be just UNACCEPTABLE!! Last year my son in law had pointed out a "new gadget" that seemed cool at the time - but I did not need it. Now my Franklin sensor was in NOLA where we continue to use it to hang pictures. And now I needed not to not only just find studs but to be DARNED SURE I missed the known pipes or wires. And the pipes and wires don't lay up against the sheet rock - I needed something that would find them and inch of so away. Read the reviews - and DARN, etc! It does not work with an iPhone and we are an Apple family. Wait! The storm took out the Verizon towers - so we had used the Buick's On-Star to call my Team Rubicon daughter and son who were driving from NOLA to help and asked them to pick up a prepaid ATT phone for communication! So 'Droid phone problem solved when I found it! Ordered the Walabot, downloaded the app - watched all the how to videos (which I strongly recommend) and started scanning just as they suggested. And there it all was in the wall. You can pick a actual view (which is fuzzy outlines) or intelligent view which interprets it for you. FANTASTIC! Hit the center of the one stud I could use (which one of my >20 year old finders could easily do) - but drilled through for the wall anchor with absolute confidence I wasn't going to hit water or power lines. Worth every penny. And if I hadn't had the prepaid phone sitting there I would have just bought a used one on line. Great tool! Epilog - loan it to my DIY lady office manager for a succesful multi-shelf-mounting-project on a problem filled wall! SUCCESS 2X! Highly recommend it. Can't speak to the 1 star ratings except to say it is more complicated than a stud finder and once again recommend taking the time to watch all the videos!

Give it a try!
We had our last house built, so I know where every pipe, wire, and stud was. Our present house had three previous owners and was built by the local high school as a project. Things do not make sense in the house. I'm in the attic and see what looks like a plumbing vent that was removed which now has a wire running down it to the first story (maybe). The kitchen was remodeled and water pipes go every which way. I wished I could see into the walls. Now I can! I've been using the Walabot to trace items inside the wall, and help me see what I am getting into as we do some remodeling. I have not had any issues with the device like some other users. My guess is they are not calibrating the unit properly. I've used the Walabot at home (drywall over studs) and at the college where I teach testing (thin wall over metal studs) with success in both cases. I still want to try it in my RV. Give this device a try, watch the videos, and practice. It's new tech that may not be 100% perfect, but we need to learn how to properly use it. It is more complex and so much more than a stud finder. I can't wait to see where this device goes.

Fine tool. Glad I added it to my collection.
It works very well with my Samsung Galaxy 4 running Android 5.01. I was trying to locate a path to run wiring for a 3way light switch. I only had to have a small area opened in the wall to run the wire. It paid for itself the first time I used it.
