I have had prior experience with Zojirushi before and know it to be well built.

I have not used the timer function. I purchased one of the first bread machines on the market meany years ago and loved it. However, the size of the loaf was 1-1/2 lbs. My needs are now simpler and I love that this machine makes a 1 lb loaf. I have not been disappointed in any loaves I have made, French, white, and cinnamon. I love the carrying handle since I cannot leave it on my counter. They recommend that you use a scale to measure the ingredients. I highly recommend that also since I have noticed the measuring cup and the scale differ in amounts. So far this purchase has been wonderful. Their customer service is excellent also. That’s my experience.

This bread machine is for smaller loaves of bread; perfect if you have one or two people in your household. The machine itself it a bit smaller than large loaf machines. Bread produced was made perfectly. My wife used measured ingredients, as opposed to pre-packaged mixes (which are mostly for larger machines and costs more than using individual ingredients). We've had other bread machines and went back to Zohirushi after trying others, which were noisy, moved around our counter tops, and did not produce bread that was as good. Our original Zohirushi for larger loaves was given to our daughter and still works fine. This model works well and looks great.

Very pleased with the performance of this device; I've had it more than six weeks and make bread and pizza dough regularly. I am now cooking my pizzas on a pizza stone on a barbecue grill and they're turning out wonderful. I am doing something a little different each time, learning more and more. I've found the two booklet helpful and informative but I am also finding lots of ideas on the web. I read reviews of this machine on Japan Amazon and compared it to the Panasonic models; well everything is in English with this produce. Nothing like warm fresh baked bread spread with butter.

Small loafs perfect for a couple. Consider the double loaf machine if you have a family or large group. My prep time is about ten to fifteen minutes. Most bake times are around 3.5 hours, or an hour less when using rapid rise yeast. Automated add-in ingredients feeder virtually makes no-fuss baking most of the time (cheese breads can’t use the auto-feeder). The recipes in the accompanying booklet are simple enough for this non-baker to do. Once you get a feel for the machine’s capacity, the variety of its settings allows you to create breads from other recipe books. The machine itself is well made and easy to clean. What I especially like is I now have custom breads that are no salt and preservative free. No salt whole wheat with walnuts and cranberries were a big hit as appreciation gifts at Christmas. I’m thoroughly pleased with my purchase and haven’t bought a loaf of store bread in the three months since I got it.

How can I justify spending hundreds of dollars on a fancy-pants bread machine / home bakery? Why would I choose this Japanese brand? How has my kitchen-life changed since??! Well, let me tell you. I can justify the expenditure because in three months I've made probably about 30 loafs of delicious, crisp crust, cloud-fluffy inside, organic bread for my toddler at less than $1 per loaf. I haven't purchased any type of bread since I bought this, and I have no desire to. This bread is incredibly more enjoyable than store bread, and takes <3 minutes to set up. Set the timer for 8am? I wake up with a house smelling like a bakery, and a fresh loaf ready for my family's breakfast. Why would I choose a Japanese brand? Japan takes bread machines (often called home bakeries over there) to the extreme. They have $1000 models for home use packed with nutso features. They just took the tech and ran with it and now are the clear word leaders for bread machines and rice cookers. This thing performs perfectly every time, and the whole thing just feels like quality. How has my kitchen life changed? There other day my wife suggested making pizza for the toddler. I used the generic pizza crust started in the book that comes with this machine. 1.5 hours later I had an incredible pizza crust, which I shaped and baked. I will never buy pizza dough again or make it by hand. It does it perfectly. A while after that I made some shake shack clone burgers but forgot buns. Did I go back to the store and pay $4 for decent buns? Nope, just found a recipe, used the custom programmable function to input my own mix/rise settings, and then baked them in the oven. Whole family said they were the best buns they have ever had. This is an essential kitchen item if you have the money. I expect it to pay for itself within about two years.

Zojirushi bread machines are, in my opinion, the best available. I have had a larger model for many years and use it regularly. It just keeps chugging along. This one is to take in my RV.

.....with the WOW factor highlighted! Superb results and way more than what I expected. Slightly taller, upgrade in design, with very much appreciated bells and whistles. The dual heat elements are a great improvement on the functionality of getting a perfect rise and crisp crust. I purchased the BB-HAC10 in 2010 and it is still going strong and more than paid for itself....

If you follow the instructions provided, it's practically fool proof. You can also use cookbook of other bread machine and create something different using the program function. Low wattage, warm to touch on the exterior during baking. Excellent machine!
