Was having intermittent issues with the trackpad and keyboard going out and after a little research discovered this was a common issue on the A1502 Macbook models. Didn't want to schedule a genius bar appoint so rolled the dice and ordered the cable and special tools for less than $20. Took 10 minutes to fix and everything is working just like it used to.

Early 2015 macbook pros are notorious for having trackpad cable issues. I went into Apple and they said they opened up my computer and did a "fresh reconnect." Well let me tell you: that was a complete lie because I just opened up laptop and I saw the dust from the middle ages. This computer has never been opened. Replacing the cable is no simple feat (not for the faint of heart). The cable is a whole 1.5 centimeters too long so you have to bend it several key places (I recommend creating several pieces of swan origami to practice). But let me tell you putting the computer back together after a solid 15 minutes and seeing the trackpad respond to my golden touch was an absolute glorious moment of victory. 6/5 would dissemble again. BTW - Make sure to buy the special screwdriver kit to go along w/ the cable (the screws on the backpanel use a special shape).

Bottom line: This $10 part and a 5-minute instructional youtube video (with the help of some torx and pentalobe screwdrivers) got my laptop's internal keyboard and mouse working like new in about 20 minutes. For a while now, my 2015 Retina MacBook Pro 13" has had intermittent issues where the keyboard and trackpad would go in and out (always both peripherals at the same time). Recently the problem got much worse, and eventually the internal peripherals of the laptop stopped working altogether. After googling the problem and my laptop model, it turned out that this was a common issue with the 2015 Retina MBP because the keyboard and trackpad were wired together with this single trackpad cable, and if the cable wore out then both peripherals would stop responding. Having done some home tech repairs before, I felt confident I could replace this cable myself, since the part was inexpensive and easy to access under the bottom panel of the laptop. It worked great, and my laptop now works like new! This cable shipped quickly and even came with the necessary adhesive strip pre-applied. Definitely recommend if you are having issues with your 2015 Retina MBP keyboard and trackpad.

On my MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015), I lost the use of the keyboard and the trackpad at the same time. I used Wiha PL4 Pentalobe and T5 Torx drivers to disassemble the MacBook and remove the original cable. The new cable is the same length as the original one when the old one is unfolded (see photo - the new cable on the right still has the blue tape). I carefully creased the new cable to match the old one, in order to fit the tight space of the MacBook. After reassembly over two weeks ago, I have had no further problems with the keyboard or trackpad. I am pleased to have my laptop working again.

The moment the ribbon cable arrived at my doorstep, I was able to open my laptop, unplug the battery (a must before removing the ribbon cable), locate the broken ribbon cable (on top of the battery) and remove both the bracket and the plastic locks, that holds the old ribbon cable, and replace it with the one this one. By the time I was able to fasten the new ribbon cable and plug back my battery and fasten the back cover and turn on my laptop, I was able to see that both my touchpad and keyboard responding again. I replaced the ribbon cable due to the lack of response I was getting from my MacBook Pro 13" early 2015 (A1502 -A1582). I was able to feel the haptic feedback working on the touchpad but there was no response from the cursor. My backlight and on/off button was working, however, I wasn't able to type at all. I believe that replacing the ribbon was the cheapest solution.

For the last few months my MacBook keyboard and touchpad would stop working intermittently. Finally, when I changed the battery over the weekend, they completely quit working. My son told me it was likely an issue with this cable, so for $10 delivered I ordered it to try. Installation took about 2 minutes using the screwdriver that came with the battery (none comes with the cable, so you'll need to get one if you don't have it) and now the keyboard and trackpad work every time. All you have to do is remove the bottom cover (remember which screw goes where), pop the old cable off and snap the new one in. The cable is a little longer than the original, so I didn't use the adhesive to glue it down, but that doesn't seem to matter.

Thanks to this little cable, YouTube videos, and a pentalobe screw-driver, my laptop can now function AS a laptop, instead of needing separate bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Installation took less than 15 minutes, and that was because I went slowly. The cable IS a bit long, but bending it properly is all that was needed. 5 stars!

Was having some issues with my trackpad and keyboard not working. After a few google searches, I determined the cause to be a broken trackpad cable--it made sense, my the bottom of my laptop is usually behind my back in my book bag and gets pushed on considerably regularly. After replacement, all problems with the trackpad have subsided. Although this cable is slightly bulkier than the OEM Apple one, it doesn't matter as it is not in an area where it will be contained by size. I recommend bending the cable slightly around the same areas that the cable in your computer is bent (after removing your trackpad cable just compare the two) and cleaning the area that the cable will be stuck onto.

The flex cable i bought from this ad. sale for my Macbook Pro Retina early 2015 model works perfect, but it is a bit longer then the original cable. But i managed to tuck the extra cable and use electricians tape to secure the flex cable to the battery so there will be no more movement if the battery swells from a possible heating process in the future. So far so good it's been 4 days of usage and i've had no problems so far. And hope it last for years to come. This is my second replacement of this cable the first replacement lasted only two months from another vender but i have faith this time it will last for years if the cable doesn't move in it's current possition. Thank you for a very fast delivery and would like to do business with you again, very happy with the purchase and thanks again.

Just replaced this cable on my computer after contacting a local computer shop and having them diagnose the problem. Cost me less than $20 and 15 minutes, apposed to taking it to them for $80. I've read that people have been charged over $400 for this repair from Apple, so this was an insane proposition. Would be nice if the cable came pre-crimped to fit like the oem part.
