Finally, a cooling pad that can cool my old behemouth laptop!

I've got a 17" Alienware M17x that is about 5 years old and it runs so hot that within minutes you can't keep it on your lap, and it regularly shuts down due to overheating. I've purchased at least 5 cooling pads such as the Thermaltake units, and other well reviewed items. None of them really kept my laptop cool; at best they kept it less hot. And each of them had their problems. Most, such as the Thermaltake unit, had plastic legs that cracked and broke relatively soon. I decided to try the Havit 5 fan unit here, and I am extremely surprised and pleased. I'm writing on this laptop right now, sitting on my sofa, and this huge old laptop has been on all day. The laptop is actually cool to touch! I really like the wheel on the side that lets you set the fan speed, but even at the highest speeds it is very quiet (many cooling pads have fans that give off an irritating whine.) The small legs on the pad do a nice job of lifting the pad off of whatever surface you've got it on (and they can be retracted) and they seemed designed well and not prone to breaking. The bright red LEDs ALMOST kept me from buying this, since I often have the laptop on my bedside table at night, in a dark room. But my laptop completely covers the lights, so no problem there. The ONLY nit I have to pick is that a couple of the little rubber pads that are stuck on the bottom of the pad have fallen off and I've lost them, But that is minor compared to the fact that this cooling pad actually cools my previously non-coolable laptop!

Great laptop cooler!

I bought this laptop cooler for my newly purchased Asus ROG 15.6 inch gaming laptop. It's been a while since I have gamed on PC, so I was told by a more knowledgeable peer that I would probably need a fan to keep it cool, and luckily I listened. My ROG heats up pretty quickly, and the battery drains faster than I would like, but I fortunately have this fan on full blast, which helps with the overall temperature and performance of my laptop. I love the fact that the fans are as quiet as they are for as effective as they are. However, like you may read from other reviews, there is no way to turn off the light without turning off the fans. I personally wish I could leave the lights off. I actually plug in the fan into my MBP (which I use as a media device now) and that helps keep my laptop cooler, since it is not being the source of power for the fans.If you have a long enough USB cord, I would suggest plugging the fan into a wall charger. The anti-skid arms do the job of holding my laptop in place, and it rises my setup just enough to make it more comfortable for my wrists while typing and gaming. There is also a little space underneath the fan where you can store the included USB cable, which I found extremely convenient for though looking to travel with this particular cooler. Overall, if you are looking for a laptop cooler that wont break the bank and is lightweight and portable, then you could do much worse than this HAVIT.

Best cooling pad I've owned

First off, I've been using cooling pads for my laptops for close to 15 years. With that said, I've been using this for a few months and this has to be the best cooling pad I've used yet. Cooling pads have come a long way since I first started using them. On this particular cooling pad, you can adjust the fan speed all the way from off to its max speed. There are red LEDs lighting up the fans, which can't be turned off while the fans are on. That is no big deal to me because they match my backlit keyboard beautifully. The fans suck the air from the bottom of the pad and blow the air onto the bottom of the laptop. For convenience, there is an extra USB port to make up for the one the power cable uses on the laptop. This has to be the best USB power cable I've had as it's braided and feels durable/thick. I've broken many plastic/rubber cables over the years, requiring me to fix the cables or even the cooling pads themselves. One quality of life that's been added to this pad that I've never had before is a tab that flips up and holds the laptop onto the pad and keeps it from sliding off. With previous pads, it's been a major pain to keep the laptop from sliding down. The only problem I've had with this pad so far is that the rubber feet on the bottom that cover the screws have come off, which I've had that happen to all the cooling pads I've ever owned. So if you're wondering if this is the cooling pad for you, it's worked wonderfully for me and it keeps my laptop cooled down while gaming and I believe it will do the same for you.

Oh my gosh this thing is amazing!

I have my 17 inch gaming laptop on this thing all the time. My laptop is usually on the couch or on the bed so this helps provide air flow on those soft surfaces, even without the fans on this things helps. I only plug in the fans when I am gaming and boy does it help bring those temperatures down. Not loud at all and the red lights I barely notice since my laptop pretty much covers the entire thing. Highly recommend to anybody that has a laptop, especially a gaming laptop.

Cools my gaming laptop well

This arrived yesterday with my new gaming system and it's just what I was looking for. Temp readings were recorded during a full raid with my graphics on high/ultra. I did not have my systems coolboost on so the heat dispersion here is all thanks to the cooling pad. Sturdy material, stout little legs and a small lip that keeps the laptop from sliding, although, if you're on a flat surface it's not going to slide anyway. It fits my 15.6 laptop perfectly and could hold a slightly bigger machine with ease. If you're looking for a pad to cool your gaming system then this is the one you want.

This thing works awesome. I work from home and when I use this the bottom of my laptop gets so hot. I put this under it and it kept it cooled down all day. I really feel like the cool temper enhances the performance of my laptop. I didn't have any issues with it bogging down or anything. No batteries or charging is the best feature about this. It also didn't drain my laptop battery down any faster. I actually felt like the battery lasted longer. and tge cool LED lights on fan makes it more better.

Nicely done Havit

Havit laptop cooling pad is well worth the cost. I have purchased a few of these laptop cooling pads from other brands in the past and they mostly end up breaking and or have cheap production so the fans end up vibrating around, one or all of the fans stops working, and the entire casing comes apart.
