A perfect reading lamp

The five pieces of the lamp assemble in probably under a minute and it's ready to go. I replaced a 500 lumen halogen with it and really like the change. It casts a bright, soft, even light that covers a good reading area. The choice of 5 tones of light and levels of brightness make it really flexible. I find that I prefer the brighter tones at day and the warmer ones at night so it's nice to be able to adjust these. The controls for on/off, brightness, and color tone activate at the merest touch so it's very easy to operate. It's well constructed with a very sturdy metal base and 3 metal pipes that support the controls and flexible goose-neck light fixture. The controls are in a metal casing; the lamp shade is plastic but looks metallic. A All in all, it's just what I hoped it would be.

I have had bad experiences assembling hollow core pole lamps in the past ...

I have two cats that bat at dangling strings for entertainment. I appreciate that the lamp included two black Velcro straps for the power cord that runs down the outside of the pole. I had planned to use clear, plastic tied downs. I have had bad experiences assembling hollow core pole lamps in the past because they lack any strength at the screw-in connections. This has resulted in striped connections and a bent, weaken pole. The lamp design appears to have overcome this short coming by capping the male ends. In addition, the capped ends leave a decorative ring at the connection points on the pole itself. If you assemble the full length of the lamp, the power cord length is reduced. The purchaser should anticipate that he/she may need an extension cord, which may be required regardless because of the size of the AC adapter which plugs into the outlet directly.

Best lamp for office and reading

I bought this for use as a desk lamp and set it up with two of the extender poles plus the lamp pole. I waved the 3rd extender pole for future use when I purchase another one of these lamps to use close to the chair my wife reads in all of the time I will be able to increase the height for better light by her chair. The adjustability of the lamp is fantastic and the ability to change the color from bright white to softer yellow is amazing. The lamp has also helped me see small print easier. Old eyes need more light and this lamp delivers.

Worth the Money

I am very impressed with this lamp! The light settings alone are worth the cost, but the fact that you can adjust the height (by unscrewing 1-3 separate poles that attach to the base) makes it a great buy. It lights up a medium sized room in my house on the second lowest setting! I do a lot of needlework in the evenings and the different colors of light make a huge difference in seeing details. NOTE: the power cord plugs into the control panel, not the base. I have found that the 6 ft cord is a little short for my liking when the lamp is at the tallest height, but a plug strip solves that problem just fine.

Quality and unobstrusive

This adjustable reading lamp is exactly what we've needed. It's quality-made, easy to set up, and like the different lighting modes available as well as the ability to reconfigure it to function as a desk lamp as needed. We wanted two of these for the living room and searched for something that wasn't huge and would dominate the room. This doesn't at all. It is not inexpensive, but feel that quality and likely durability are worth it. Would recommend this to friends to purchase and we would purchase again without hesitation.

Very happy with this lamp

Bought this for my tattoo studio to provide better lighting. I was using a standard swing arm lamp before with your standard every day light bulb. I'd often find myself repositioning the light trying to get the best view and avoid shadows and would definitely notice eye strain after long use. The first thing I notice about this lamp is the packaging. Very professional and well packaged. Assembly is as simple as screwing a few parts together and you're good to go. The matte black with purplish colored accent rings looks really nice. The base is relatively small and thin but probably weighs 8-10 pounds. No chance of this lamp toppling over. The swing arm has a nice rubbery feel and is easily positioned with little effort. Really love the soft touch buttons. Almost feels like a touch screen. For my purposes it's also great that the touch pad is connected in a way that I am able to cover it with a baggie to prevent cross contamination. The light itself and adjustable brightness as well as color tone is just perfect. I've found the normal light and the blue tone to be the most useful to me. I also notice little to no eye strain after several hours. Has been one of the best purchases that I've made for my studio. Similar lights sold specifically for tattooing can run as much as $200 plus. I can't imagine they perform any better than this lamp.

Vava Floor/Desk LED gooseneck lamp, 5 color choices, dimable, timer features. Black only.

Ordered the Vava desk/floor reading lamp to be used as a bedside lamp, just the lamp with the gooseneck on the base set up. This is a surprisingly amazing lamp. There is no noise (hum), doesn't get hot. Love the flexible neck, gives off a fair amount of light, I prefer the dimmest setting and it still is fairly bright for me as a bedside lamp, the brightest setting is bright, daylight bright. Love the ability to choose the colour spectrum as well as the brightness. Love the soft controls, requiring the lightest touch or brush of your finger to make any adjustments. I'm just overall very pleased with this lamp. And it's supposedly to last 50,000 hours. Note: To set the timer feature on the lamp as per the manual-press on/off for 2 seconds the light will flicker to indicate the timer mode is activated. There is no flashing light to activate the timer. It just activates. Best feature I love on this lamp.

TaoTronics makes some great high quality products at a reasonable price

TaoTronics makes some great high quality products at a reasonable price. The VAVA lamp is no exception. - The base is sturdy and weighted at the bottom. It has good traction with 5 rubber "feet" as shown my photo. - The lamp was taller than I expected and looks great as decor. The 4 brass/gold colored rings adds a touch of class to the lamp. - Installation was quick and easy by hand assembling the 4 threaded areas. - Quality was top notch, the metal was thick and strong and the flexible goose neck adjusts the angle of the lamp easily. - The power cord length was of decent length. - The LED has 5 color temperatures ranging from cool daylight to warm white and 5 brightness settings that is controlled by touch sensitive buttons. The light is evenly distributed and produces a very wide angle of light. - The only thing I would change about this lamp is the location of the power cord. It attaches high near the buttons but I wish it was attached to the base of the lamp. - They do supply 2 velcro as shown in the photo to attach the cord to the pole but it would look nicer if the cord attached to the bottom of the lamp. Overall, I am very pleased with this floor lamp. It has all the useful bells and whistles typical of TaoTronics while saving on desk space. I highly recommend it as an alternative to desk lamps.

Fantastic flexible bright reading lamp

I have been looking for the perfect reading lamp as my eyes have gotten older and I need more and more light. It happens. I have tried many types of lamps, but until I purchased this one, I was not satisfied. What I like best about this lamp, besides that it is dimmable and has different types of "light" (soft, white, etc), the neck of the lamp is totally flexible and the height of the lamp can be adjusted. By taking out one of the sections on the stand, I was able to place it at a height that is perfect next to my chair. This allows the light to shine directly on what I am reading, and not in my eyes or my husband's eyes. We liked my light so well, that we purchased a second one for my husband's reading chair. This is the best reading lamp I have found, and I have tried several. Next, I will probably buy one for my sewing machine. I am thrilled with this purchase.

LOVE AT FIRST LIGHT! Dynamite!

Love at first light! Total excellence! Bright enough, dims very well, temperatures fit my artist’s needs. Full time artist need was for a lamp to position next to my artist’s table which adjusts in height and angle, and upon which no desktop lamp could be attached. I worried lamp would not be bright enough, but this photo is with light at dimmest setting. Quality and weight heavy enough to insure stability. Is shipped in a quality box with fitted foam protector and was pristine and assembled in less than 5 mins.
