This device works exactly as intended, but... It's a mechanical device. If you don't know how to handle mechanical devices then you may have problems. You need to grab it with TWO hands. You need to muscle it into place while offering strain relief to the base. How do you do this? I can't help you here. Just find someone who has an understanding of working with mechanical devices that are not idiot proof. So, when you drop your iphone do you give it a 1 star rating because the glass broke??? Well, maybe you should. All I can say, that if handled properly, this device works perfectly. You can safely ignore all the 1 star ratings unless you think you can just grab this thing and shove it into position- it needs to be finessed. If you don't understand what I am saying you can just practice with a piece of stiff wire as I did when I was 8 years old. Are you smarter than an 8 year old? Good- then you should be able to figure it out. Just don't blame the device if you fail.

I have had this mount for a few months now, and love it. I use it primarily for a Logitech BRIO web cam and can quickly move and adjust it for what ever I want to focus on. No complaints, I have used it for a mic, an Audio-Technica AT2020, as well and even with the slightly heavier mic it held place. Though I doubt it would hold my heavier blue yeti. All in all, I am a happy customer.

I provide instructional how-to, jewelry-making videos and have been looking for a flexible arm strong enough (or adaptable enough) to hold my Sony FDR-AX33 cam. While I have a manfrotto tripod with extendable arm, its bulky and a beast and I wanted something easy to put away (I just tuck this behind my desk when not in use) since I work from my living room. It is JUST strong enough to hold the camera. It jiggles if the table is bumped, which is the only downside (I imagine this would be less of an issue for a lightweight gopro) but it allows me to move my hands freely and I appreciate the ease of use.

This jaw is life to me! I actually use it for way more than what it was intended for. The flexibility is perfect, perfect length, it's sturdy, durable and is perfect for getting those hard to achieve angles. It's as easy as a few twists and your ready to cam. You can clamp it on just about anything that is sturdy and will fit between the clasps, which goes pretty wide and tightens just right. I hook it to my Light fixture and it works perfectly together! I would purchase this product again and again if needed, but I think this one will last a great while. Thanks to AceTaken you hit it right on with this one! Well worth the small investment!

Nice stiff arm. Holds position well, fits the c920. Some might find it difficult to adjust, if you don't have strong hands consider a hinged swing arm instead. Update September 2018: I love this thing. Works great with a camera, and as a makeshift arm for a standard clamp light. It works better than any other goose-neck lamp I've tried. I will be purchasing another for dedicated lighting use.

The clamp end is large, definitely will fit on most all corners of tables etc. Very stiff, and will not swift your webcam out of position, unless its bumped into, can position your webcam around corners, and other difficult positions, a useful and versatile device. Could support a small camera, but nothing like a DSLR camera.

I used these in order to mount my Oculus Rift Sensors in a "moderate" play space. As I live and breathe, this was the coolest idea I've ever had! LOL! Just perfect. You want these rigid for this type of application because the sensors can't move or you'll have to recalibrate, so one person's complaint is another person's practical application...

I was expecting this to be a lot more flimsy and wobble when my desk moves for how long it is, but it is surprisingly stiff and stable even with a GoPro mounted on it. (Using Elgato CamLink) It's somewhat difficult to adjust because of this, but it will not move after it is adjusted properly. Well worth it for getting more camera angles besides from above a monitor.

This is a rugged item and not a piece of junk like I sort of expected. Top notch quality and versatile and I love the ball swivel adjustment for easy leveling. Great great product! It stays put and allows for maximum flexibility while still keeping its sturdy shape.

The clamp fits easily on the lip of my desk because the tightener is designed to work even when flush against a surface. (I'm finding other clamps do not have this feature). I was able to tighten it down plenty. The arm is not super easy to adjust, but on the plus side it stays put. I'm using it with a very lightweight webcam (exactly as shown in the product photo) so it works great, but if you have a heavier camera you should look for a different item designed for that.
