Excellent desk lamp! PROS: The adjust-ability is amazing! My desk is set up with the base on a top shelf so the light must come down below its base and this worked perfectly as well as the swiveling head. Even the swivel head can 'rock' as well as swivel to keep the light out of your direct eyesight. The light is nice and bright and is a white light. I liked the dimmer settings as well, they were super easy to use, just hold the soft on button and it will dim and then start all over again after turning off. Installation was a breeze, the clamp is high quality and very secure. The arms are sturdy and stay where you put them. CONS: Only two that I can come up with and they are rather trivial! Since it has a soft switch on the lamp arm itself, I can no longer use my smart plug to turn it on with Alexa as I had with my other desk lamp. Hardly an issue. The other is that it does get a little warm with use, not enough to burn you if you touch it but I was surprised with LEDs that it would get warm to the touch. Once again, hardly an issue for me. I would highly recommend this desk lamp to anyone looking at it. It is well built, puts out great light and is highly adjustable.

Very, very good light. I use mine for working with electronics - building prototyping, soldering ect.. makes a great "bench work light" It is physically infinitely adjustable, and it stays put. The dimming function is so useful and intuitive. But even better is the post-sale customer service; emails are answered within a few hours, polite, friendly. I had a small issue with dimming on the first one I ordered, and they sent me a new replacement at no charge within 48 hours - I even got to keep the old one!

This is a really cool lamp and easy to work with. It gives off a really clear and bright light; depending on which setting you like to your choosing. If you're an avid drawer or artist (like myself), this is perfect for you! Now, the reason why I said in the title, "Don't Do What I Did Though", is because I actually wanted this lamp's light coming down at an angle from the side of my desk. But my desk didn't have any room for another lamp. Especially, since the lamp is only designed to maneuver vertically. So, I drilled a hole on the side of my desk and stuck the long screw (the lamp comes with) through the drilled hole. And it worked out pretty well for the most part. The only thing keeping the lamp from falling is my DVD shelf. It's very dangerous I know, but it's been a whole month since then and this lamp has been able to hold its own.

Bigger than the other ones offered, which is what I needed. Very adjustable in all directions. The head of the light swivels and spins. Can be locked down in any position with allen wrenches. Arm is able to go straight up. I know some of these types have a problem with that. Seems very durable and the light settings are perfect for what I need. It may not be bright enough for very detailed designers and architects. In the picture, it is being used over 24" monitors.

Hubby and I are old people who have recently returned to Chicagoland from a winter away as snowbirds in Miami. The highrise condo we rented in Miami was very contemporary with all Italian light fixtures by Flos. I loved the Flos Kelvin Edge swinging wall mounted bedside fixtures there and hunted them down online - found they run $395 each. This fixture looked like an excellent alternative but I wasn't sure how well the clamp system would work on our new upholstered bed and there was no ready made wall mounting option. I bought one to start - planning to use it in my sewing room if it didn't work well clamped to the bed. Another option I had in mind was to mount a piece of wood to the back of the nightstand and clamp the lamp to that. The lamp did mount securely to our headboard and I was happy enough to order a second for hubby's side. I wasn't thrilled with the instructions though. I had read all the reviews before ordering so was prepared to add one of the rubber 0-rings to the base that slides into the clamp. One was present but there was clearly a recessed area on the base for a second one. Two extra O-rings are included in the box for this use. Not sure why the second one isn't in place on the base - perhaps it isn't needed in all cases? A second important piece of information missing from the instructions was the presence of a physical/mechanical on/off switch on the cord itself. Since it is quite slim and white it blends in fairly well with the cord so might not be noticed by all. Indeed I’d read several reviews that indicated confusion when the lamp did not turn on with the touch on/off system. Since I had read about it in advance as well so knew to switch it on before the touch activation switch would function - but no mention of it is on the instruction sheet I received. Probably a new and more comprehensive set of instructions would be helpful. In any case I am very happy with the lamps after using one of the included allen wrenches to adjust all the different articulated joints to make the lamps positioned exactly the way I like. I keep the on/off button side of the lamp heads facing down to make it easier to reach since I am uber lazy and do not want to reach any farther than necessary. Also even at the dimmest setting the lamp is bright enough even when facing up in most situations. When I need brighter light I reach up and swivel the head to face downwards and of course if needed I can also hold the button to make it much much brighter. Bright enough for surgery. I am happy that I made the decision to purchase these instead of the much more expensive Flos lamps. Another plus is that the Flos lamps hummed slightly when on - sort of annoying after a while - and these are completely silent. Besides providing convenient and adjustable levels of light for bedside reading etc these also save space on our already crowded bedside tables. I will be able to remove the much dimmer table top touch lamps we had been using to make more room for all the crap visible in the photo attached.

This light is excellent so far. The dimming function is fairly granular, light output is even, and the adjustable arm is stable. My only wish is that it would be nice to specify color temperature. This light appears to be in the 5-6k range.

Nice and well built product. Great light with diffusion. As a photographer I needed a close to daylight desk lamp, not heating ; this one is perfect for me.

(+) A very nicely made light, well adapted for a flat or a tilt table. Ample distribution of light, with a height range of 13"-28" which easily illuminates up to a width of 48". High quality material components. (-) These are easily solved, but worth mentioning. Several buyers have commented that it tends to wobble on it's base. I think that is because some units arrive with only one 'O' ring on the post-mount. The post mount has two grooves for two 'O' rings and that solved the wobble problem when I installed the second one from the extras in the parts bag for this. Note: Apply silicon grease to extend their life (available at auto parts and plumbing supplies). Also the instruction/installation sheet is bare bones and should not be called a "manual" as some buyers have referred to it as. It leaves out the fact that although the light can be turned 'off ' at the cord switch, it cannot be turned back 'on' without touching the sensor switch located on top of the light bezel. Therefore, I leave the cord switch "on" at all times, and use the sensor switch to adjust the light intensity by using a gentle but sustained touch on the sensor, and turn the light on & off by using just a momentary touch. In this way, the unit "remembers" the previously set level of light intensity.

Although a bit expensive for what it is, this is a great little lamp, especially for modelers/crafters. Even with an overhead light using (2) 100w equivalent LED bulbs, my room still had dark areas around the sides, and my head would throw shadows across my work space. I was looking for a swing-arm LED lap that I could add to my desk and after viewing a number of cheaper options on Amazon, I decided to go with the Phive based on the glowing reviews. The lamp works great and has almost all of the adjustability that I need for my space. The only thing I would consider lacking is the head movement is limited to swivel and rotate. There is no up/down (pitch) control which could be a problem if you need to get the light focused in on something. However, after mounting the light to the back of my desk and not the side, it works fine for me. The mounting piece is the only other real downside, simply because of how large it is. It is able to clamp to a 3" thick desk, but on a thinner desk, especially one with a "back' like mine, you can't get it tight without warping the back. However, to solve this I flipped the mount upside down so that the clamping part fits onto the lip of the glass top on my desk without interfering with the wood "back". The mounting piece has holes on the top and bottom allowing you to flip it, however, the "lock" only exists when mounting it upright. If you put the second o-ring (included but was not installed on my unit) onto the shaft of the light fixture, it sits in the mounting piece very tightly and does not need the locking piece at all. Hopefully, my included pictures make this more clear. A great light overall, very bright and only slightly blue-er than daylight. A tad expensive, but well built.

I wanted a versatile lamp which I could easily move to various locations to add lighting for various activities and I found the PHIVE CL-1 LED was the perfect addition. The PHIVE LED has an one-touch functional dimmer switch which easily allows you to change lighting intensity as needed. At my desk I set the LED to bright for reading, but it also works great at the card table in our living room which needed a bit more light, but the intensity is set down to give just enough lighting to enjoy the game. My wife liked the light so well that she asked me to purchase another for her to use while playing her piano. The PHIVE comes fully assembled with a two section electrical cord. I love this feature as it allows to leave the lamp in a set location, but detach the cord when not in use so it isn't a trip hazard. This is especially useful if you set up the lamp in the middle of a room; simply detach the cord in the middle and reconnect when needed. The dimmer switch is located on top the LED and adjusts lighting intensity simply by holding down on the switch to adjust the lighting up or down. This light is a bit pricier than some other options, but I found it is worth the price because of its ease of use, functionality, versatility and superb quality.
