Update: So I was upset that this product didn’t work for me even after I’ve read and seen great reviews on this product and wrote a review. Well, the company reached out to me and is sending me a replacement! Great customer service! I’ll do a video review and post so you can see how well this truly works. Very impressed! Bought this and it worked great....in quiet environment. So I thought it would work. I went to an outdoor event to vlog, used this mic outdoors for live YouTube videos and for future video. All my outdoor audio in wind and outdoor sounds made my audio choppy! I came home and tested in front of shop fan and it was choppy! To compare I tested in same condition with Purple Panda Lapel mic and Rode Mic Me. They sounded great and this POS was choppy. Wish I would’ve tested when I first received. Now I can’t return it. Never again.

I’ve now owned both this mic & the Rode VideoMicro mic that looks nearly identical. After using this one for a few weeks there are a few things that stand out. 1) the durability. I actually find this one to be more durable than the more expensive Rode mic. The clip that attaches the mic to the hot shoe mount is made of metal instead of plastic. I actually had the plastic from the Rode mic break which is why I needed a new mic. 2) Sound quality. I’d say the sound quality is just about identical to the Rode mic which is great. At a lower price point, it’s a no brainer to go with this one instead. Overall, I’d totally recommend going with this mic. Can’t beat the price.

I have the Rode Videomicro but I'm always looking for better audio solutions. I decided to try out the Movo given the cheaper price and the claims on several reviews that it is louder. It is louder than the Rode. On a Sony A6500, I need to turn down the internal preamp several points from where I was using on the Rode. The mic itself is larger than the Rode but the windscreen is smaller, giving it a slimmer profile. For me this is important, most of my videos are outdoors on the run and the less chance I have of hitting the mic or screen the better. I do not regret buying the Rode, but if I was in the market for a small mic, go straight for the Movo. It comes with two 3.5mm cables, shock mount, wind screen, and a small carrying bag.

I purchased this Movo VXR10 mic a few weeks back to connect to my GoPro 7 black to improve the sound quality in my YouTube videos. I was happy with the quality of this mic and the over all complete package, it’s also nice that it comes with TRS and TRRS cables both included! This mic has improved my audio on my videos and I plan to buy the Movo wireless mic next. The company’s customers service is A+ as well! I ended up cracking the red shock mount because I did not support the mount right when clipping the mic into the mount, ( my fault ) I should have supported it better because the mic fits nice and snug in the red mount. I emailed customer service and they got right back with my, and they said they would ship a new mount right out to me! Great guys at Movo!!! I will for sure be buying my next camera mic from Movo again! Thanks guys 🙂

Excellent value for the money. Before purchasing it, I watched a few YouTube videos comparing this mic to the Rode Video Micro. Both are good mics, but the videos showed this one to have a better low-end frequency response. Indeed, it came with a manual that claims it works down to 35 Hz, whereas the Rode Video Micro specs show it cutting off around 100 Hz. Based on the video comparisons and my use so far, i would say that is accurate. The other things I like about the Movo mic relative to the Rode option are: 1) Comes with a black cord (no in-your-face red cord). The mount is red, but I can easily spray paint it black. 2) The mount seems less floppy. Yes - that could make it pick up a bit more noise from the camera, but my zooming experiments while filming suggest it is OK for my personal use (you can hear the zoom knob on the M50 rotating, but it is not loud like it is with the built-in mic. So the mount is providing good acoustic isolation). 3) The build quality is solid. Not quite on par with the Rode, but plenty good. 4) Comes with a very nice pouch. 5) Comes with cables for camera as well as for cell-phone (check to be sure its compatible with yours). Conclusion - 4 to 4.5 stars on its own, but I give it 5 for the value relative to the Rode similar mic that costs a bit more.

Other than having to get the 2.5 adaptor so that I can use it on my Fujifilm xt20, this microphone performs just as good as my RODE, which I use on my Canon. Great bargain for a microphone that give you this kind of excellent sound. I recommend it highly for run and gun videography and also for vloggers.

Great customer service, I broke the shock mount first time using it, they sent another with no issues. The shock mount does feel overly tight when clamping the mic in. For me I take it apart after every use because I'm doing location work and transporting equipment. Mic works great. The coiled cords would be nice to have 90 degree adapters on both ends, but that's minor. IMO cords could also be shorter, but no big deal. Also a nice feature of a competitor is having the built in clips to hold the the wire on the tightening nut for the shoe mount. Great price, great performance. I would buy again and again.

This provides really nice sound, when kept within 18 inches of the talent. Like virtually all mics, when you mount it on a camera four feet or more from the talent, you will not get very good sound. But that's just the way of mics. Caleb Pike reviewed this and stated that it has a noticeably hotter signal than the Rode Videomicro. I am pretty picky with audio, and I often will EQ to get things the way I like with various mics, but this one gives me quite good audio without EQ-ing. For being small and cheap, it has surprisingly good bass. And the upper end is crispy without being shrill. For the money, this is very nice.

Although I understand why other reviewers were critical of the included shock mount, I bought this microphone regardless, as well as a Small Rig Mic Shock Mount No. 1859 to use instead of the Movo included shock mount and it worked perfectly. I have this microphone attached to my Nikon D810 for recording short FHDx60fps videos and, although I thought I was happy enough with the audio quality from the built-in mics of the D810, this Movo microphone really makes a HUGE difference. Some reviewers mentioned static sounds and fading, but I have not experienced such negative results. I am very happy with this microphone. There was a coiled audio cord included, as well as a straight cord, both with an angled plug on one end.

I bought this instead of the Rode for pricing. The initial one I bought had a bent cable. The replacement has been good. The wind cover is good too. It fits pretty sturdy I have no complaints. The sound is good. The nice thing is no batteries required. I would buy it again and recommend.
