Easy to install and looks good. Have not had a fire yet, but the unit tests OK. The 10 year battery is the big plus.

It's hard to rate something that you hope never actually has to be used. My husband said the smoke detectors were easy to install and tested properly. We bought this particular brand based on reviews through Amazon because other brands had complaints that they started going off about a month after installation and we saw no complaints on this one.

I was looking for a smoke alarm that had a battery that wasn't impossible to change. I found one and bought it. It arrived and it was one that had to be wired into your electrical system. This was not want I wanted, so I contacted the seller. He graciously offered me a credit without returning the alarm, actually told me to donate it. So I very carefully looked and purchased a new one. I am so happy with it. It has a 10 year warranty and no batteries to be changed. And it the price was very similiar to the ones you have to change the batteries. Product is great as was the service!

I got this fire alarm for my condo and it's working great! I love that it has a setting where you can silence it for a few minutes in case you burn something while cooking. It was a breeze to install, and took maybe 10 minutes total including getting the materials and cleaning up. It's small so it's not obnoxious. I'm considering buying a second one!

I bought six of these. They come with everything you need to install them: base, screws, and drywall anchors. I chose not to use the anchors since there should never be significant load on the screws and screwed them straight into the ceiling. Be careful not to continue twisting after the screw head is flat or you’ll chew up the drywall and need those anchors. Anyway, easy install with just a Phillips screwdriver (standard #2). The unit fits into the base easily and has a healthy click when the unit is properly snapped in place. Also the red light blinks so you know it’s activated. Pushed the test button on each one to have my eardrums curse me, but I know they all work. Thankfully I have not had to learn whether they detect smoke efficiently. I hope I never find out.

Just have to say that within two days of installing this smoke detector, it detected smoke in the kitchen while my family and I were downstairs. Someone threw a kitchen towel without looking, and it landed close enough to my wife's lit candle that it caught fire. We were able to put it out using the sink's water spray, and very minimal damage occurred. It could have been much worse. So speaking from experience, this worked well. Caught the fire early and the alarm was definitely noticeable. Thanks!

So far, so good. Of course it’s hard to rate a smoke detector unless you have a fire. This unit replaced a First Alert unit that was only three years old that often sounded a false alarm, or was too sensitive to standard cooking fume. This unit was very easy to mount to the ceiling, probably less than three minutes once I got the stepladder and drill to the desired location. This unit is a little smaller than the First Alert and doesn’t have the same footprint on the ceiling, so if the ceiling had been painted a different color you might want to use a little touch up paint around the base. Hope the battery lasts the suggested 10 years. One thought about the smaller size of this unit. As mentioned, I had frequent false alarms with my previous First Alert where I could barely reach the unit to silence it while on my tippy toes. This unit, being smaller, I might not be able to reach it without a stool / chair to stand on😁

Smaller than a typical smoke detector, which I didn’t expect (it’s probably in the description but I missed it) but so easy to install. I used 3M command strips to hang them like I saw suggested in someone else’s review so I didn’t even need a screwdriver. They’re light enough the command strips are plenty to keep them mounted. Took me 2 minutes from opening the box to done. Would definitely buy again and recommend to anyone.

I did not test these alarms, but the instructions tell me that when you depress the test button, it not only checks that the alarm is working, and that the battery is good, but it also checks that the smoke/fire and carbon monoxide detector is actually working! This is important, since the old style alarm only confirmed that the alarm itself was making NOISE, and that the battery was OK, it did NOT tell you that the detection function is working correctly. NO MORE HAVING TO LIGHT A CANDLE OR A MATCH TO TELL IF YOUR ALARM IS REALLY WORKING OR NOT. Now this is very important for your peace of mind that you know alarm is actually working as it should. One more fact. This alarm detects fire/smoke with a PHOTOELECTRIC detector............these are much faster and more dependable than the old ionization types. If you buy any new alarm, but sure to buy one that works on the photoelectric technology rather than the ionization technology. They cost about the same.

These smoke detectors are smaller than the old style detectors, about half the size which makes them blend right into whatever ceiling or wall they are mounted to. Quick and easy installation and comes with all mounting hardware needed. Average install time is 10 minutes. Reasonable cost considering you only have to buy these once a decade. Great seller, great product. I have already bought more of these since the original purchase.
