we had to use this behind a regular cone of shame because our super smart Jack Russell figured out how to press the plastic cone of shame into something to bend it to get at his stitches so this helped insure he could not do it again.

Bought this for our dog to replace the traditional plastic cones that vet's offices give out. We had used the cone and the dog would run into things, including us, and it was very unpleasant. We then decided to try one of these inflatable collars, and it has turned out to be wonderful! The dog does not get it caught on things as much, and the dog can move around more. I agree with the reviews that the dog learns to use it as a pillow. It has been very affective and good for our dog to keep from licking a wound on the bottom area. I found that if I inflated it more, it fit better. Also read that someone's dog chewed on the nub that inflates this collar. My dog has not had any interest or ability to chew on any part of this collar, and I make sure that the nub is down away from the dog's face. The size for our dog was right on and it fit great. Our dog has a thicker neck at around 15-16 inches. The more you inflate, the tighter it could be. It stays inflated, and it has a nice fabric cover that can be removed. This is a welcome relief from the one cones, and we have liked it very much. Dog has worn it about 1.5 weeks. Dog can sleep with it on more comfortably that a cone. We did not have to thread the collar through the straps as our dog kept it on without this. I would highly recommend this product especially if your dog is going to have to use it for long periods.

I bought this for my female dog who was just spayed. She is a rescue dog that had been abused and is scared easily. She was scared of the plastic e-collar we got from the vet. She would put her head down toward the floor and not move. She needed it but I couldn't stand watching her like that. A friend told me about these inflatable donuts so I purchased it for her. What a huge difference! It goes around the neck attached to the collar, very simple to get on/off. She can rest her head on it, sleep, even get water with it on. I saw a huge difference in her. I highly recommend these over the plastic e-collar. Much more humane and comfy, especially when it's important their stitches need to be kept dry. Excellent product.

My cat cut her lower armpit/ elbow on broken glass and needed stitches. She absolutely hated the plastic cone the vet put her in to deter licking the wound and would refuse to move. She could hardly keep her head up and would walk into walls. We also tried a softer cone called “comfy cone” and she still had kitty cone coma. We were hesitant to try this because I wasn’t if she would be able to bring her arm up to lick it or be able to get it off but it works great! We got a small and she’s about 11 pounds but does have a slimmer neck. We can blow it up more to tighten it and she’s not able to get the collar off. She can actually walk around/ eat/ drink and go to the litter box with it. Of course she would prefer not to have the collar on but she is a million times happier with this and she looks super cute and ready for a vacation :)

My cat had been scratching her chin too much and too fiercely that she’d developed some scabbing. But I didn’t want to put her in a cone, she still bitterly remembers being coned after I got her spayed. So this seemed like a good alternative and I hoped running her regular collar through it would solve the issue I read other products had with cats easily getting out of them. After trying the product out I am very happy with my purchase. It was small enough so as minimize the impediments on her vision and movement. Since it’s air-filled it wasn’t too heavy for my small 5lb Persian. It did seem to throw off her coordination a tiny bit at first, but I think that was just her adjustment period. It successfully kept her from scratching and it healed up nicely without issue. I didn’t even need to run her collar through it, she never tried to wiggle out of it. Though be extra sure to not put this on your cat too tight, leave some space as you would a normal collar and check their breathing. Because she’s a Persian I did have to take it off during meal times. With her flat face she had some difficultu eating and would get food and gravy all over the e-collar. So we got into the habit while she needed this of taking it off before meals, and then brushing out the tangles on her neck and chest since she couldn’t reach those areas while wearing this.

Our cat needs this collar to prevent her from pulling out her belly fur while she's on a food trial for potential food allergy. The collar must stay on for weeks if not longer, so having something she can tolerate is super important. We all know how they hate the hard cone, so at first I tried a soft material cone. Poor cat kept tripping on it and could not get around. Bought this item in a small (she is a 13 lb cat). While it was effective at preventing her from getting to her belly, it was too tight around her neck. The two open ends were still an inch or two apart when around her neck. I then bought the medium. While the medium seems big for a cat (it is a little more difficult for her to maneuver with the bigger collar) it is the right size for her neck. I do wish they'd just make a cat specific one that was the neck size of the medium but the inner tube size of the small. Overall the medium is working for us with a 13 lb cat. Definitely much more tolerated than the soft or hard cones. She's been wearing it for 3 weeks now and can eat, drink, use litter box. I've only clipped her nails once in this time period and there are no issues with her puncturing it or it deflating. Highly recommend. Update: it’s now been 6 weeks and the collar is still holding up fantastically. The medium was definitely the right size as the small had rubbed some bald spots on her neck from being too snug. She got used to the larger size within a day and it seems to bother her no more or less than the small did. Absolutely recommend 100%.

Hallelujah! Big bravo to whoever invented these blow up collars for dogs. They are so much less cumbersome and more comfortable than traditional Elizabethan collars. Back when I was a vet tech, I saw so many miserable dogs in e-collars, but these blow-up ones are so much easier for the dogs to get used too. (And no more bruised and scratched legs for the humans) I recommend theses to my dog training clients and we’ve found they work for most dogs, although dogs with long snouts or long bodies may still be able to reach belly wounds or tail problems. As always, give plenty of encouragement when training your dog to wear one. I highly recommend buying one BEFORE you need it and working with your dog to acclimate him/her. Just think of it as one more tool in your “K9 wound management kit”. Young dogs or dogs who have not had proper training with these MAY possibly be able to remove or damage it, but dogs who are comfy with the sensation of wearing one, usually have no issues. One of my dogs is wearing one right now due to a knee injury, and yet she’s calm and comfy in this collar and she’s just about to doze off.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this product! My pup Delilah got spayed and I knew that she would have to wear some type of collar but didn't like the idea of one of the big plastic e-collars. With this collar our pup could eat, drink, sleep, walk, and move around comfortably. She would occasionally bump into a wall, door frame or my husband or I with it with no damage to the walls or pain to us. On the inside there are loops that you feed their every day collar through, buckle their collar and then velcro the strap on the outside. She tried a few times to get it off but was unsuccessful. Most of the time though she didn't even seem to notice it was on. She is a very itchy pup so she was constantly trying to scratch her neck because I'm sure it got itchy under there so it made me nervous about her popping a hole but it has held up well to the scratching. I highly recommend this product, it's a great price and great quality. Also I found it to be true to the size chart. She is 52 pounds and fit into the large size range on the chart and it fits her very well, I was able to fit all five fingers between the collar and her neck and it was still snug enough that she could not get it off. If she would have had to wear it longer than the recommended 10 days I would have felt totally comfortable keeping it on her on a longer term basis! I hope I was able to answer any questions anyone might have!

Bought two of these for our Labs after spay surgery. We were skeptical that they would work but they ended up being just what we needed. Even our 7 month old lab puppy wasn't able to get it off. These were so much better than the large plastic cones the vet put on them.

My golden retriever had some growths removed from the top of his head and behind his ear. They told me he couldn't use a regular cone because it would rub behind his ear. I tried covering up his foot with 3 socks but he was still scratching. After 2 nights of sitting up all night trying to make sure he didn't scratch, I found this donut. It was here by the next day and what a lifesaver. It went on just like it said and was very easy to secure. It sat at the same spot his collar does so there was no rubbing. He was not able to reach any of the areas where the surgery was. Afterwards, the hair came off pretty easily and then I just washed it up. I think this is a great product.
