So I bought 2 of these lights to see what they would be like and how much light they put out and so on. In the picture, the 2 next to our flag are these 2 I bought and installed alreay. I liked them so much, I bought 10 more. My shop is around 30 by 60 and 15 foot tall at rafters. It was built for an RV. Works great for me for working on and storing my farm tractor and equipment. With 12 Sunco LED lights, in the 5000 K color, I should have no dim spots or shadows and should feel like being outside. I spaced them out about 5 feet apart and linked together with included cords on the same rafter. Then will be about 5 feet apart either way on the other rafters. I live in Florida so we will see how they hold up with the heat. I have ridge vents and will be adding a vent fan soon so should be in the 90's at most when shop closed up. If anything changes I'll up date my review. ..... oh ya, the packaging was great, the mounting options are very impressive too. Can flush mount, wire hang them, or chain hang them as I did. Everything is included for any mounting. These 2 came USPS and where fine. The 10 additional lights came UPS and where also fine. Nice outer box, then each boxed in nice store type packaging inside the shipping box. Update 11/02/18 lights are all hung, added some pictures, I have changed the way they are powered. 2 center lights on the rafter are on own breaker and photocell controlled. Still actually very bright. The outside 2 rafters on each side of center are on another breaker and are switch controlled. So, when im working in the shop, all 10 are on and it really is just like day light inside. Very happy. I'll be redoing the house garage next with these LED shop lights.

I wanted to give my Dad's workshop in the basement a little update. I was tired of trying to find places that would take the burned out 4 foot fluorecent tubes. I thought we could cut down on electric useage, and I wanted to give him more light and reorganize his shelves. I started the makeoverwith these lights. WOW. American made, great product, EASY for a 66 year old woman to install. Because they are light weight, narrow, and flat I could get light into areas that had not be possible before. Now It is like working outside on a sunny day. Such nice bright light. No more balast hum or flickering light. WIN WIN WIN. But the best part is that Dad is smiling and happy. These lights came well packaged and I have to admit I dropped one and it still works! Amazing!!! Thanks for a resonably priced and quality product. Makes me want to do the whole basement with these beautiful lights.

I got a two pack of these to replace a fluorescent shop light in my basement and one in the garage. The one in the garage was really the problem. Since it's not heated, it either didn't work at all or was very dim in cold weather. That's simply the nature of fluorescent bulbs. And, after a few years, they either dim, flicker, or just burn out. LED bulbs are supposed to last around 50,000 hours so the Sunco lights will outlast me! They give off a very pleasing but bright pure white light. I'm looking for a truly long-lasting friendship with these guys!

Just arrived and have hung one...Wow! first impression, Light weight multiple ways to mount with extra chain, hooks and steel cable. love the individual off/ on switch and the ability to "daisy chain" two together. These two are 40W total!..but 240W equivalent and one old flourescent is 40 watts and much dimmer.. two would be 80 W no duh I bought these as a pair for price and the fact that the led is "frosted" and so even in light output ...as mentioned by others. no shadows. I am using along with other red/blue greenhouse light to winter- over my tropicals (no MJ) and the place is so bright even in the day! I can't say how long 50,000 hrs is.. but it is most of my life at 70! We will see who goes first. Oh , as I understand, no ballast to burn out! Should be as cheap or cheaper considering that ballast and T bulbs and life of leds and electricity savings. Seems to be a much better plan. I'm pleased for now.

I was looking for a replacement for my existing fluorescent lighting fixtures in my garage that had burnt out and I also needed the plug cord and inlet, as a part of the fixture, so that I could chain the lights together, just like my existing system. I had completely overlooked the "LED" part of the description, but then the product arrived and I noticed that it had tubes, just like fluorescent tubes, but they were fixed in place and not removable, at least as far as I could see. I plugged the fixture into a wall outlet and was very impressed with the brightness of the light emitted. I have yet to install the fixture in place in my garage, but I think that it will work very well for my needs and the reduced electricity draw and increased longevity claims of the LED lights should be a big plus. I would highly recommend this product to anyone else, who has a similar situation.

MY PURPOSES FOR THESE LIGHTS: Video Production (Green Screen), Hydroponic Gardening I originally bought these two shop lights to illuminate a large green screen that I used in video production. The lights are very bright and worked well! After that I became interested in hydroponic gardening. I used only one of the two lights to start basil and cilantro seeds and was able to grow them to a good size. It only took 1 month for the tiny seeds to reach the size you see in the attached picture. I then added the second light to cover more area. So YES! They do work well for indoor gardening! I noticed that according to the manufacturer's color spectrum chart, they output a lot of extra light in the blue range. Nothing you will notice with your eyes but your plants will definitely like it. The lights are very lightweight and seem to be built well. I like how you can connect the lights in series, by plugging one light into the other. I'm going to start growing more plants (cucumbers, lettuce, stevia, etc) so I will most likely order more of these. Who knows -- I might start a new career in gardening with the help of these lights! Overall I am very very satisfied with my purchase -- and I don't have to worry about any CFL tubes breaking and getting mercury everywhere.

I put 8 of these in my garage that I'm setting up as a woodshop. Really easy to put up and my shop is bright as a sunny day. Just be sure they are mounted close enough together to be able to daisy-chain them. I have all 8 on one, 15 amp circuit. I installed an outlet in the ceiling and wired it to an existing wall switch so I didn't have to run an extension cord down the wall and/or turn them on using the chain-switch. I can turn them all on at once or keep some of them turned off when I don't need all the light for doing woodworking. I screwed them directly into ceiling joists/trusses and if I wasn't too heavy handed with the impact driver, the metal casing didn't distort noticeably. Didn't use any of the cables or chains that came with the fixtures. I will have to add a bit of string to the chain-switches since they're too short to reach from the ground when mounted directly to a 9' ceiling.

Got two of these for my garage where I do woodworking. They are VERY bright and go a great job of illuminating my entire work area. Am considering replacing my old florescent in the rest of the garage with these. They do connect together, but the on/off is still independent for each fixture. Also, the first one can be off, but the attached can still be turned on, so that's a nice touch.

Lights were packaged well, easy to install, and look great in my garage. I bought them to light my exercise area in my garage and they are perfect. I have the two lights connected to each other and they work as described. If i had a recommendation to the manufacturer, I'd ask that there be a way to select whether i want them to operate separately or together by using one of the "pull On switches". While they are connected together, you have to turn them each on and off separately but it would be nice if they'd both turn on with the pull of one chain but it's not that big of a deal to me.

Last autumn I bought two 4-foot LED shop lights rated at 4800 lumens / 40W / 5000K through Amazon from FrenchMay at a price of $44.97 each. Last week I bought Sunco's 2-pack of 4-foot LED shop lights rated at 4000 lumens / 40W / 5000K at a price of 59.99 or 30 bucks each. The question arises: Is there a difference between a shop light at $44.97 and a shop light at $30? Well, yes, but not much. At $15 more, the FrenchMay product is made of sterner stuff: stronger metal and stouter LED tubes. The twin tubes on Sunco's light are constructed of an odd kind of plastic that gives with a gentle squeeze. Hanging high above the work surfaces of my studio, the four lights from two different manufacturers are fairly safe from abuse. So, perhaps, the flimsier Sunco lights are sufficiently made to sustain the minor intrusions of daily life in the studio. The Sunco lights were easy to hang, sturdily packed, and free of defects. Both brands give out plenty of light. Both brands are hard at work in the studio. And I've saved thirty dollars. All the same, next time I purchase shop lights, I'll probably spend the extra 15 dollars and choose the sturdier model. No disrespect intended, Sunco. Your lights work just fine. All the same, next time I'll likely choose FrenchMay
