- The Saramonic SmartMic Condenser Microphone is small and lightweight, making it super-portable and easy to bring with you anywhere. It connects to your iPhone, iPad, or Android smartphone with a standard 3.5mm plug and allows you to record high-quality, professional sounding audio with your existing phone.
- The Saramonic SmartMic uses a directional TRRS condenser microphone to pick up and record a wide range of sounds with a frequency response that is wider and significantly better than any built-in smartphone microphones.
- A multi-directional head allows you to angle the microphone for flexible recording options that are perfect for musicians, journalists, or just spontaneous recording. A removable foam windscreen is also included to help reduce noise during wind or movement.
- The SmartMic is battery free, with a standard 3.5mm audio plug designed to connect to your iOS device via the headphone jack. Designed for optimum compatibility with iOS devices as well as the Android devices.
- Weighing less than 1 ounce, the mic is small and light enough to fit in your pocket. Shotgun design reduces unwanted sound from back and sides.

Easy to carry around with good quality
Very good value for the money. The small one is easy to carry around and directly plugging into my cell. Despite its size, the recording sound was clear, loud with fair to good quality.

Works well for Samsung Note 8
It definitely IMPROVES audio quality. I tested it recording video and audio with and without the mic. HUGE difference. The small size makes it easy to FORGET about it in your pocket. I almost lost it multiple times. It's definitely cheaper than the Rode VideoMic ME (https://amzn.to/2SxdgvU), but works just as well while being smaller. One plus: so far it has not picked up any electrostatic or RF noise despite not putting the phone in airplane mode while recording. This means the mic can be used for Facebook Live or other live recordings without having to worry about interference internally-generated by the phone. That is more than I can say about the Rode VideoMic ME.

Good Mic and Works Great on Note 8 đź‘Ť
People who say this doesn't work must work for other mic manufacturers or got a dud bc this worked great and significantly increased the overall sound levels. The sound is good it's not tin can or hollow. I was disappointed with the rode videomic me the recording levels on it are not high enough. This is better for less money and its smaller. Hear for yourself in my video. If it doesn't load here on Amazon you can find it on YouTube. They won't post links to it here.

Picks up great sound with no echos
Contrary to other reviews I've read, this little microphone works great. Picks up natural sounds with no echo. I've even used it to make a few YouTube vids when away from home. Works great in a pinch.

One item to note as you try this mic
This mic works well with my iPhone 6s. One thing that took me a bit to figure out is record with the microphone in the headphone jack, but play back the video with the microphone removed. Otherwise, the iPhone thinks there is a headphone plugged in and you hear no audio. Simple...but will trip you up when you test it if you aren't thinking it through.

These mics should be a required accessory for all smart devices...
I have more mics and recording equipment than I know what to do with. I needed a way to enhance the recording quality of my iPhone and iPad since I use both several times a day to record audio and video. I was definitely unsure of this mic at first especially for the price, and the fact it’s just as near my device at the internal mic, but I use it literally everyday and the quality of the recordings is like studio - no exaggeration. Thank you so much to the seller 1/11/2019 UPDATE: Still using this mic everyday. My personal assistant is right at my side 7 days a week, between 15-20 hours a day. She holds the mic in her business bag and takes it in and out 20-25 times each day for me to use it with one or more of my iPhones and iPads. And either she or myself inserts and removes the mic from my device port just as many times. The mic still looks, works, and adjusts like new, and every recording has that “full body” and “confined” sound to it. Extremely impressed with this mic, and equally grateful. Side note: Another reviewer stated there is no difference between the audio quality of this mic, and the internal mic of his iPhone - he ALSO said the mic “didn’t work when he inserted it into his device”. So which is it? Does it work? Or does it just not work as you expected? Sounds like a contradiction to me........ If you, the reader of my review is considering this mic for your own use, GET IT. I promise, unless you happen to get a defective one, you’ll be very pleased. Like I already said, I literally use this mic everyday, for every audio and video recording I produce with my iPhones and iPads.

Works great for me.
Bought this product to use in filming with my Android. It works better than the mic on my phone by cutting a bit of background noise and making the voice more crisp. This is my first dabbling into filming with my phone and for a cheaper mic it did what I wanted it to do. I like the small size and ease of use.
