Great Deal! As good or better than UCO Titan matches!
Great zombie-proof matches. I used to think the UCO Titan matches were the Tsar Bomba of survival matches, but these Zippo “Typhoon” matches rock! I’d say the Zippo Typhoon matches are slightly better than the UCO Titans — and the Zippo match tube is more rugged and watertight than the UCO tube, too!

Light my fire!
Ok, I was expecting something, well, smaller... But what I received is a Silver Dollar sized grenade of fire launching matches. Oh no, these are not your mom's kitchen matches, these are man sized jungle "take-no-prisoner" matches. It's almost like kindling with a powder tip on the end. If these matches can't start you fire, then there is something a matter with you, not the matches. Never try to start a fire with wet wood, that is just a fools game. These matches will not correct your stupidity, but used correctly with a protected fire pit, you will have warmth and hot meals and drink. These are no a child's toy. These are adult matches to be used in an emergency. May they work for you as intended, and keep you safe and in moderate comfort until help arrives.

use with care
bought for emergency fire starter, works extremely well. large flame, difficult to put out. live in MONTANA, the weather conditions can change very quickly, I am very please with this product and ordered a second time. being able to make fire under adverse conditions was my goal, believe this will do the job. don't recommend getting product WET, AND ALSO ADDING A PIECE OF SANDPAPER AS A STRIKING SURFACE. fire is important in a survival situation, I PUT MY LIFE ON THE LINE WITH THIS PRODUCT, IT WORKS!!!

Great Product Burns Well
I love these Heavy Duty 'Longer Burn Time' "Zippo" Survival Matches! I first purchased them in Zippo's TMK 'Typhoon Match Kits (2) and thought they could hold a few more matches if loaded 'one tip up and one tip down,' so I ordered the refill and learned 'I am correct,' (as the saying goes "be prepared"), so now both of my TMK kits has 21 matches instead of 15, just a word of advice to Zippo 'and' their future customers! I'm congratulating Zippo on their great marketing, 'sell our TMK kits with all 15 match heads pointing up would leave a little room for a few more matches if/when one of our customers figure they can add a few more if stacked '1 up & 1 Down,' sell more refill packages. So now I have 2 TMK kits of 21 matches each with 17 more for my several other EDC bags. I'm happy to share my experience with everyone else with 'once again' Total Respect to Zippo Corporation. I also 'totally recommend Zippo's EFK "Emergency Fire Kit" with it's wheel 'lighter type' sparker (with it's replaceable flint ability) & five paraffin discs hidden in it's waterproof handle, they take a spark right off and burn up to 5 minutes, I also recommend Zippo's Mag Strike, yes I have them all, I even purchased 2 refills of the paraffin wax discs which I placed in two plastic 1" Id X 1 1/4" Od shipping tubes with caps I also ordered from Amazon, one again, "Be Prepared!" I totally recommend 'all' Zippo 'creating fire for survival EDC' to everyone.

Wow!!!
This is an awesome product. The matches are massive. When I ordered it I was expecting the usual sized match holder. This one is double the size. It has a place to strike the matches on the bottom and is very well sealed and waterproof. I can not wait to use this out camping I have a feeling that rain and wind will not mean a thing when you light these matches. Highly recommend super cool product from Zippo!

This match case is a beast!
This is a really great case! The kit comes with Zippo matches, the case and a couple spare striker pads. They're just slightly larger than a UCO Titan match. Comparing the Zippo matches to the UCO Titans however revealed that the Titans are better matches. They burn longer and with great ferocity, plus they're harder to extinguish. However the Zippo case is much better than the UCO Titan case. For starters the Zippo Typhoon (TMK) has the striker under a waterproof cap that looks like the caps on a rifle scope. This keeps the striker bone-dry not matter what you do to the case unlike the UCO with a striker on the outside. The TMK is also a bit larger than the UCO. I'll use the matches up, no doubt, but when they're gone I'll replace them with UCO matches. No knock on the Zippo, I just think the UCO are better. But there's no denying this match case is fantastic! After using it for a while I bought a second one!

Get LIT with these matches!!!!!
These matches are strong! After lighting one match just to try it out, I realized that they mean business. As soon as the match lights up, you could tell that it was very well designed. I lit it up indoors, not realizing the strength of the flame and had to walk outside to make sure the fire/ smoke was well ventilated. Even after walking outside, the match itself wasn't even 25% consumed. Meaning, that in an emergency situation, you know that one match will give you a decent time to make sure you your fire going. Also, the container itself is very sturdy and waterproof. I fully submerged it and manually kept it under water for about a minute, as it actually floats. After taking it out and opening, it was dry as could be. Really happy with these matches!

better than expected.
huge difference between what i expected and what i got. i have the uco stormproof matches in the waterproof container and the striker on the outside, which can and does get wet and deteriorate. i saw these reviewed and the selling points that got me were that the striker is sealed with a rubber cap and the container floats. i got it on sale for around $12, which was well worth it for me and i was just looking to it as a container upgrade over my uco stormproof matches. what i received was a pack of HUGE matches and giant container. each match is about 4x the size of a uco stormproof match or more. much more robust than i had expected, i was pleasantly surprised. not a replacement for the uco's, as their size might be a drawback if packing small and light, but a beefier alternative when a little extra weight and/or bulk can be tolerated.

Work as advertised, case is waterproof
The matches work as they are advertised, much like the UCO and REI stormproof matches. They are probably manufactured the same way. Do not try to light them the way most people try to light matches. It is better to push them across the striker rather than drag them sideways. They will break, like any other matches. The case does float, and the seal on the match compartment keeps the water out even when completely submerged. I was more worried about the strike pad under the bottom cap. It is not a screw cap with an O ring like the match compartment. However, 20 minutes submerged a few inches under water, it did not allow any water to reach the strike pad. I am pleasantly surprised. I have used the UCO and REI stormproof matches a great deal, and these perform just as well. Do be aware of the form factor and size of the container. It is great for a backpack or large pocket, but too large for most survival kits.
