I stream, you stream, we all stream!
The media remote is a perfect companion for my PS4. The PS4 console replaced many of my streaming media devices but using the game controller was not the best thing when streaming content due to it's button sensitivity and short battery life. This remote makes it easy to navigate to the streaming program of our choice. We don't worry about the battery life like we did with the game controller and the remote has all the same functionality as using the controller. The remote arrow buttons are a bit sensitive and sometimes skip ahead a few times when searching for content, but it's a small price to pay for the convenience of having it.

My wife was ecstatic when I bought this. We ...
My wife was ecstatic when I bought this. We are cable cutters and watch all of our programs through the PS4. When she would set the standard controller down it would hit one of the trigger buttons and fast forward or rewind and drive her nuts. This purchase has eliminated all of that. The set up took a couple tries which I attribute to old batteries, but once I got it working I have had no complaints. Definitely, worth the price of admission.

Excellent for the price, seriously, get this if you frequently stream movies
UPDATE 8/27/19: Still love the remote. With occasional use and using two rechargeable AAA batteries, I get a good 3 to 4 months before having to recharge the batteries. The functionality and layout is fine, and for the money is a must have in my opinion (light years better than using the clunky PS4 controller to watch a movie). Still a solid 5 stars! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Note that I FULLY paid for this device with my own money and for my own use. I loved (and still love) my PS3, and have to admit the controller I used the most was the PS3 remote. I finally took the plunge and got a PS4, and of course I am finding myself continuing to use the device for more streaming than gaming. And of course the PS3 controller won't work (no reason for that except for a money grab, but so be it). So I decided to take the plunge and get this controller (after getting sick of recharging my PS4 controller every couple of days just to watch TV). Well, after a couple of months of use, I am COMPLETELY happy with the controller. It works just as good as the PS3 remote, and the batteries so far have not needed changing (I am using rechargeables anyway). The functions work great, and it has made TV streaming fun again. I don't like the button layout or ergonomics quite as much as the PS3 remote, but it is 90% as good in my book. In summary, this device is nice for the price and is a MUST HAVE if you will be doing streaming on your PS4.

It's about time!
I've had a media remote for my PS3 for a long time and wondered why there wasn't one that worked with the PS4. I seem to recall seeing some third-party options, but they all seemed to have major flaws. This is an actual Sony product, so I expected it to work right - and it does! I saw some reviews that say it eats up batteries like a glutton, but that hasn't been my experience at all. It's down one bar after over a month of use, but it is used quite frequently. It's a bit small if you have large hands and easy to press the wrong directional arrow if that's what you're trying to do, but if you're careful it's not really a problem. Long overdue and very pleased to finally have the option of NOT using a game controller to navigate Netflix.

Works great, very happy.
I had the universal media remote for PS4 before I got this and I thought that remote worked fine but there were a few things I didn't like about it. The biggest issue with the universal remote was that it took a few seconds to "wake up" after a few minutes of inactivity. This new remote doesn't do that, it's almost instant. The size is really nice and it controls your blu-rays and your apps perfectly (Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime, and others) My only complaint is that if your PS4 is off any button on the remote will turn it on so you have to be careful not to accidentally bump it. Other than that, very nice remote.

Great size and functionality for PS Vue

Great things in a small package...at a great price.
Finally, a PS4 remote that works exactly as I needed it to. The family and I "Cut the cord" a little over a year ago and have been using our PS4 as the main media hub, primarily Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon, and I hated using the game controller. You barely tap that thing and you're fast forwarding or exiting out of your show, and there's the concern about one's 3 year old breaking your $50.00 controller. I had bought the previous "All in One" Media remote before but over half of the functions didn't work with my set-up so I took it back. I've been eye-balling this one for months and when it dropped to $14.99...I pounced. This controller is streamlined and very easy to use, it has all the functions of the game controller, so you won't get the option for channels, volume, or power of your TV. Which is fine by me since we've gotten used to the game controller. Battery life seems fine, been using it since last Thursday (12-28-17) with no drain yet. Very happy with my purchase and I highly recommend it, especially at this price.

Soooo much better than watching a movie using the controller
Probably the best thing about a playstation is the software updates to the Blu Ray player remotely and automatically. Makes it one of the best players on the market, and since Sony created the format makes it ALWAYS the most current technology. In any case, I was always frustrated trying to play a movie with the rewind, pause, menu, etc a crap shoot to figure out what button to press. A few weeks ago I found this PDP remote and it works really well. I'm not totally familiar with the fastest way to do things yet, but I can see learning it by touch like any other good remote is within reach. I'm totally sold that this is what was needed all along. On the PS3 I had a (now discontinued) infrared adapter that worked with my Logitech Harmony remote. So i've been looking for a solution for the PS4. This does the job nicely and I recommend it highly.

Good media remote
Good remote that makes all of the controls obvious. Pros: - Nice form factor, so I don't have to balance a PS4 controller on my arm-rest. - Connects via Bluetooth like the PS4 controllers. - The setup was pretty easy to link it to my PS4. - The remote shuts off after 30 minutes, but it doesn't have the annoying "dualshock has been disconnected" message like a PS4 controller that interrupts my movie watching experience. - If the remote is powered off, hitting any button will turn the remote back on, and it will still register the button you hit. For example, if you were to pause a movie an hour into watching it, you hit the pause button and the remote will turn back on and pause the movie. There is a slight lag, because the remote is waking up, but the controls register as you'd expect when the remote is already on. - Can be used to turn off and turn on my PS4. Cons: - It has all of the same functionality as a PS4 controller, for all intents and purposes, so if you don't watch many movies/media, it might not be worth it for you.

Two thumbs up!
Before this remote, we were constantly swapping between 2 wireless PS4 controllers. They didn't hold a charge for very long and my husband griped at every changing of the controller. I've found that this thing burns through 2 AAA batteries approximately every 3 months. I will gladly go through 8 batteries in a year instead of dealing with those 2 wireless controllers. Two thumbs up!
