Easy to use and get used to.
I love this keyboard. I’m saying this as someone who’s using it as their first ever keyboard cover for their first ever iPad. Which means I’m used to solely typing on an old MacBook keyboard with a track pad. The texture of the keyboard is nice, you can easily lap type with it because it’s not too flimsy, and the movement of the keys is very satisfying under my fingertips as I type away. I’m not bothered by the fact that this isn’t a backlit keyboard, since I’m used to not having one, but I could see how having backlit keys would be beneficial. This pairs instantly with the smart connector on my iPad Pro, and it is even compatible with my UAG back case. I highly recommend getting this keyboard if you want to type easily on your iPad.

and they all basically suck. Too thick
You can't beat genuine Apple accesories for engineering, practical use, and compatibility. I tried some of the aftermarket bluetooth keyboards, and they all basically suck. Too thick, connection issues, battery life, in general just awkward. This is the thinest and most precise keyboard for the iPad Pro available.

Apple brand keyboard is superior to off-brand
Husband loves this one after using another brand with his iPad for over a year. This one fits well with the opcover closed and doesn’t scratch the touchscreen like the off-brand one did. No complaints.

Great product
fits and works perfect - and yes the keyboard sits flush with the desk unlike the person who reported that it did not sit level (looks like they had another cover on as well as this keyboard which is a cover as well... do not buy another cover for your iPad Pro as this is a cover as well as a keyboard. A magnet holds the iPad in place very well when using the keyboard. and keeps the cover secure when closed. The keys have a good feel to them.

Very easy to use and better than my laptop keyboard!
I love this keyboard. I purchased mine in used condition, but it came and was just fine. My favorite thing about this keyboard is the fact that it isn’t tiny. I pretty much like this keyboard better than my laptop keyboard. I think I will use my iPad as a replacement for my laptop when I can. I know not everything can be done on an iPad that can be done on a laptop, but with this keyboard, I think it definitely is worth a shot. I am using the keyboard for this review and I am very impressed. 5 out of 5 and I would definitely suggest others buy this as a necessary accessory for their iPad.

The Apple keyboard is always the best choice. I've tried many a portable keyboard and none of them work even half as well as the smart keyboard does! My only complaint is that the weight of the iPad makes it so that the keyboard lifts slightly from your working surface. For me, it's not that big a deal because I often work on unleveled surfaces, but I can see how it may bother some people.

Works like you'd think it should
Been using it for a week, will update review with durability and longevity comments after more time has passed... Felt like nobody mentions some things that are worth knowing... There's magnets in places that make this thing more functional than they tell you. You can wrap the cover to the backside of the iPad and use it like you would normally, and magnets will hold it in place. When you use it as a stand, you can use it like a tilted drawing pad. Magnets will hold it in this position so it's actually fairly secure. If you're opening it or changing configuration, magnets hold the keyboard in, so you can treat it exactly like a regular smart cover without the keyboard annoyingly flopping out. And finally, you don't have to worry about accidentally pressing keyboard buttons when it's in any position other than "laptop mode." The magnets let it know and the keyboard won't function unless it's specifically in this mode. Would have bought it sooner had I known, instead of just taking a chance. UPDATE: Months later, it still works 100% with daily use and abuse.

Works Amazing and Works with my Existing Pencil Compatible Case
I just got this in today (Saturday afternoon) after ordering late Thursday night. I did a lot of competitor research – mostly because I was hoping a could find something that had solid reviews, but wasn’t so expensive. $150 for an iPad keyboard is a tough pill to swallow for a lot of people and I understand why. I considered others and thought hard about the Logitech keyboard, but didn’t really want to deal with anything connected via bluetooth. Concerns with other less expensive offerings focused heavily on unresponsive keys and missed keystrokes for those who type fast. There are other keyboards that really add a lot of bulk and weight to the setup and I didn’t want that either. Lastly, I read a lot of reviews for keyboard/cover combos that offered front/back protection, but those always seemed to have issues with the hinge breaking after a few months of use. Reviews for the iPad Smart Keyboard were mostly solid when it came to connectivity and keystroke responsiveness and to me that was something that had to be good if this was going to be worth the cost. One common complaint about the Smart Keyboard is that it doesn’t offer any protection for the back of the iPad. This is true. However, you can use the Smart Keyboard in combination with other iPad cases that will give you the back protection you need. Many other cases, such as the one I use, leave the magnetized side of the iPad open for a connection to the Smart Keyboard. I happen to use the Crystal Clear Poetic Lumos Flexible Soft Transparent Ultra-Thin Compact Resistant TPU Case because it has a holder for the Apple Pencil. So, to recap... I’m using the Smart Keyboard, which is functioning beautifully. It’s actually easier to type on this than it is on my 2016 MacBook Pro 13. The keystrokes are responsive and I’m able to type as fast as I can with any other traditional computer. The Smart Keyboard works with the case I was already using, which also has a holder for the Apple Pencil. So, I’ve got the protection I need for the back of the iPad, the pencil won’t get lost and I have the absolute best option out there for an iPad keyboard. I’m including multiple photos to show you all how well this setup works. If you want to get the same case to go with the keyboard, I previously used the exact item description so you can all search easily. I have a hard time believing anyone would be disappointed with this keyboard if it’s set up the way I’ve just described. Good luck and happy typing!

Worth the price tag
Although it is tough to swallow the price tag, you really can’t beat Apple accessories for their own products. Lightweight, doesn’t suck up battery, keys aren’t too crowded, and really improves the functionality of the iPad. I used to use a Bluetooth keyboard that was given to me, but it was really frustrating to remember to charge the device, plus it was very bulky. The only downside is that the keys are a little loud, but I think that is all the keyboards these days because the new laptops are also pretty clicky.

This is the iPad Pro keyboard you want.
I have always thought I wanted a keyboard to use with my iPads, but no matter what the design, I always find them awkward when you're *not* using them, because generally they have to be removed and leave you with no front cover. But the iPad Pro sort of commands you to use a keyboard to get the most out of its capabilities, so I tried the Logitech "Thin Combo" first. But once again, while the keyboard was great, it includes a really quite thick and bulky rear case, and leaves you with nothing on the front when not using the keyboard, which you have to set aside to use the iPad as a pure tablet. I sent it back. This keyboard, combined with a reasonable thin back case, like this nice one from ESR ESR iPad Pro 10.5 Case, Clear Hard Case [Perfect Match with Smart Keyboard] Slim Fit Back Shell Cover for iPad Pro 10.5 Inch(Clear) is the answer. Now I've got a nice, truly "slim" set of covers, one of which converts from a smart cover that puts the iPad to sleep when closed to a remarkable comfortable keyboard. Using the iPad as a handheld tablet, which I do maybe 80% of the time, the keyboard folds up neatly to the rear and gives a comfortable grip. Flip it back around, and it locks solidly into place, forming a stable, angled base. It seems almost too simple or too clever or something, and as with so many things from Apple, they charge a premium for cleverness and a certain "cool" factor. But it works, and works well. I have seen no other keyboard for a tablet that makes this much sense, at least if you expect to hold your iPad in your hands some of the time. Five clever, folding, premium-priced Apple stars.
