A new favorite in our playroom!
My five-year-old has been obsessed with this microscope since he received it. It's such a great educational toy and it gives him so much to grow with, too. Right now, he mostly uses it to view the slides, but I am sure that once he's a bit older, he will enjoy the quiz option. The microscope comes with a great variety of slides and has provoked some great conversations! This toy is a definite winner!

The Talking Microscope has been enjoyed very much by my young children
The Talking Microscope has been enjoyed very much by my young children. My son hasn't yet mastered using a regular microscope so the Talking Microscope has been helpful in learning how to view slides. Bindi's voice is a nice change from the normal overly loud toys that we've purchased. The facts that she narrates are not overwhelming for young children and my son likes challenging himself with the quizzes. The built in slide holder is such a wonderful addition. I'm confident that this microscope will last a while because it is still functioning well despite being thrown multiple times by my one year old.

The Talking Microscope is awesome!
The Talking Microscope is awesome! There are many reasons why I, as a parent, love this microscope. First, I love that it is educational. Not only does my four-year-old get to see all kinds of things up close, but the microscope identifies what is on each slide and tells him all about it (honeybees, mosquitoes, cat fleas, tadpoles, human tooth, etc.) so that he knows what he is looking at. He even enjoys the quiz feature. I do, too, because I can tell he really is learning and retaining the information presented. He then likes to quiz me on what he’s learned! The microscope also talks in four languages so we can add language arts to our science learning. The second reason I love this microscope is because it is so easy to use. When it arrived, I showed my four-year-old how to use it, and in minutes, he was able to use it independently. He can take it out himself anytime he wants to look at slides. A brilliant aspect to this microscope is that the slides are stored with the microscope. The slides are all contained in a drawer that fits into the base of the microscope so we always know where the slides are. The third reason I love this microscope is because my son enjoys it so much. He thinks it cool to see all of the things up close. I haven’t found a downside to this product other than I hope that GeoSafari Jr. comes out with more slides because we will soon have these memorized!

Excellent way to introduce microscopic world to your toddler.
Easy to use, safe for child's eye area, nice bold blue color to entice child to use it immediately. Slides are super easy for my 3 year old to place into the slot in the front. Light clearly illuminates slide and my child was amazed instantly at the item in the slide! Accurate placement already taken care of for you as the slide pops in, audibly in fact, so that the child knows he did it right. No trying to find object in the eye piece, it's already perfectly in focus as well! Love this product and most importantly, so does my son! and..... it's Steve Irwin's daughter narrating the slides which is simply wonderful.

Great fun and educational STEM toy
My kids really enjoy this toy. It is very educational and fun at the same time. Before purchasing, I was worried about the durability of the slides since they are toddlers, but they are pretty heavy duty. There is storage within the microscope for the slides. I don’t know if it exists, but would be cool to have an expansion pack with additional slides you could view. It’s very engaging and provides a lot of interesting facts about the specimens.

Fun and educational talking microscope!
This is by far one of the coolest products I’ve ever seen! My 4 year old loves this talking microscope! Every day while her baby sister naps I spend some quality one on one time with her and this was the perfect product for our special time together! She didn’t want to stop looking at all the different slides and I love how each slide has 3 images and the fact mode shares fun facts about the slide chosen! I love that she was learning new facts while looking at it up closely! She has been having so much fun using it and asks me daily to use her new microscope! This is such a great learning tool in a fun, different way for a 4 year old and it is a big win in my book especially because it can be used for many, many years! It also includes a quiz mode that we haven’t used yet but it’s nice that it has different modes for older kids. Highly recommend for all preschoolers and older kids!

Wonderful talking microscope
I have three girls that I homeschool, and this little microscope has provided so much fun they don't even know they're learning so much! They cannot read yet so the narration is a wonderful feature. They are able to load the slides themselves and push the buttons. Great addition to our homeschool classroom!

Fun, engaging, and easy to use!
My almost 7 year old really can't get enough of this microscope. I read on other reviews about children struggling some to get the slide in place, but my daughter didn't have that difficulty. She absolutely loves Bindi's voice. I like that the images are realistic and that the microscope not only tells you some facts about each slide but that it quizzes you on it too! This has definitely been a huge asset to our homeschool and I recommend it often to other homeschooling families. I do wish it could use an adapter instead of batteries.

I can easily envision him getting use out of this microscope for ...
Bought this for my son's 4th birthday and he absolutely loves it! I can easily envision him getting use out of this microscope for at least a year. There are many different slides, and in addition to hearing the facts, he can progress on to doing quizzes. This is very preschool-friendly, has easy to follow commands and it's compact. An excellent gift for kids who are curious about science, bugs, or enjoy learning.

My kids (5 and 2 1/2) LOVE this thing
As others have mentioned, this is not really a microscope, it's a toy. That said, I thought it would be a great way to get my kids interested in science, since at ages 2 and 5 using a real microscope might be daunting (focusing, etc). I figured if they liked this and learned the process of the slides and looking through the eyepiece, that eventually we could "step up" to a real kid's microscope. I bought it for my son for Christmas and I wasn't sure how it would go over... but lo and behold- the kids are both fighting over playing with it constantly. They absolutely love it. The facts are interesting that Bindi recites, the little slide tray is easy for even my 2 year old to use, and my 5 year old enjoys taking the quizzes. He even tells me random interesting facts now and then I know he learned from the toy. So far it's a month after Christmas and they are still playing with it. I do wish more slides could be purchased for it, that's my only gripe.
