This worked like a charm. Replaced both Solenoids. Be sure to cover throttle body and Air Intake tube before blowing any dirt around. Very happy with the price and parts. Bought a 6 inch socket extension arm from Autozone for a few bucks. Will update if parts fail. Youtube search 'Replace a Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve on a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu 2.4L Ecotec P0014' for video on this car's engine. By lastmoto777

Installed this set of solenoids on my daughters 2008 G6 2.4L 4 cyl engine in early October of 2019 due to codes P0013 and P0014 being set. She has driven the car approx 3,000 miles since without issues. I am a retired GM tech so this job was kind of a no brainer since I had replaced many of these in the past due to mileage and codes. Replacing them is not difficult or time consuming and can be completed in about 30 to 40 mins if done properly. I do suggest you have some engine repair experience before attempting. Be sure to use good quality tools to prevent damage to the heads of the small bolts as they can be locked in place and sometimes hard to break loose. *****FIRST STEP IS DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL! ***** After removing top engine covers and accessing the solenoid area at the front (right side) of the top of the cylinder head be sure to clean the areas around the solenoids with compressed air or a spray cleaner before removing. This will prevent dirt and debris from falling into the holes after removal and causing damage to internal parts of the engine. Carefully disconnect wiring harness from old solenoids to prevent breaking the small tabs. They become brittle with age and heat. Remove one solenoid at a time. They may be difficult to remove and need to use a screwdriver to pry them out of the hole due to the seals locking in place. Be careful not to damage head surfaces or other surrounding parts. Penetrating lube can be used to help aid in loosening the seals hold. Wait about 5 minutes to let the lube soak in just be sure to clean away any lube before installing new solenoids. Remove the correct corresponding new solenoid from the box and lube the seals with clean oil before inserting into hole to aid in seating solenoid completely to surface to head. Finger start the mounting bolt to prevent cross threading. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN MOUNTING BOLTS! Torque to manufacturers specs. Reconnect the electrical terminals carefully. Reconnect negative battery terminal. Clear all codes stored. (This can be done before service too. Disconnecting the battery will not clear stored codes.) Start engine and check for leaks before reinstalling the top engine covers.

Was getting an check engine error code in my 2014 Chevy Equinox. Researched the code and found it was probably the timing solenoid. It seems this is a common failure on this model. Checked YouTube for repair videos, shopped for the part and found this 2-piece deal that was only a few dollars more than the timing solenoid by itself. Figured "Why not?" If I'm replacing the one, might as well replace them both since they are side by side. Replacement was a piece of cake! No more check engine light after clearing the code. I highly recommend this deal.

2012 equinox. Check engine light came on for camshaft exhaust actuator open circuit. I pulled the original actuator out, cleaned it, reinstalled, and cleared the codes. No dice....Check engine light came back on about 5 minutes into test drive, same failure code. All the local vendors wanted more for 1 actuator for what this vendor wanted for the pair. Knowing this car sits more than it drives; I took a chance. We'll see if you get what you pay for....So far we put about 4000 miles with a trip up to Estes park in the Colorado Rockies and no issues.

We were absolutely pleased with these they installed just fine without hassle. My bf was very pleased with this product for being off Amazon. We were skeptical at first. But any skepticism was shut down after we drove our car after installed. Every time we reversed our car it died. We have not died in reverse ever since.

Check engine light came on with code P0010 and I was starting to have hard shifts. After changing them out, cars working great again. Be sure the area is clean first so no debris falls into the hole. Also be careful when removing the brackets as they can break if worn and make a 15 minute job much longer. I also recommend doing one at a time so you know for sure where each should go. But it is very easy to replace and this part is working well.

I am so THANKFUL... I paid 27.00 for this with you and everyone else wanted to charge about 50+per item plus labor. I told my husband that I was gonna fix our 2015 Chevy Equinox myself and it took me less then 20 minutes. I say that is a great deal and have told many about this product. Now my car don't cut off at every stop. Now it only stop when I turn it off with the key like normal. Thank God

These were needed by my 2010 Chevy HHR. The auto parts store wanted $50 each for the two of them. These appear to be the same as OEM parts. I'm glad I purchased these here. They were half the cost of one from the auto parts store. After the install my SEL light went away and the OBD code reset to normal. I just wish I had done this sooner.

These parts can actually be installed without the aid of a mechanic. A little difficult to remove the old ones, but installing the new ones was a breeze. I've already noticed a difference in how my engine idles, and in the power when I'm driving. Amazing how small pieces like this can make such a big difference in how your car works. So far, so good! I am very pleased with this product, and would be glad to buy from this particular seller again should I need them again in the near future!

I replaced this in my 2011 chevy equinox when it had 75,000 miles on it and it worked great after I replaced it however 6 months and 5,000 miles later my timing chain went totally caput and it totalled the engine and I ended up totalling the car. So I would suggest after replacing this part you should have a thorough engine inspection done by a mechanic. There are also videos on the you tube on how you can check your timing chain with a timing light and if you are a little more ambitious there are also videos on how you can remove the valve cover and inspect the timing chain.
