This lav mic sounds good. You will notice clearer audio if you plug this directly into your camera versus just using the built in mic. You should be aware that some phones may make this mic sound garbled and low-fidelity. I was using a ZTE phone as an external audio recorder and it made this mic sound terrible. I thought it was defective until I connected it to a cheap, old Galaxy- then the audio was crystal clear. If you are making videos, that is my recommendation for using this mic since the cord is relatively short. Hook it up to a phone, and record and sync your audio to the video later in your editing program. The short length of the cord would be my only gripe with this product, but since it is easily overcome by using a phone, and only costs $10, it still deserves a good review. Also, the customer service is excellent. They reached out to me to ask if I was having any issues, and when I mentioned that the audio quality seemed low, they suggested remedies and then offered to rectify the situation. No hassles, just good, fast customer service and response time. I would definitely not hesitate to buy this again.

hmmm..It is a great quality portable microphone at this price. I used to have the dilemma in choosing a high-end headphone(usually no mic) or a gaming headphone with mic (but low quality for music). I tried to use this mic to compensate the drawback so I can enjoyed good sound quality while I can still have a mic for gaming voice chat. The recorded sound is definitely clear. The problem is that you could only clip lapel microphone (all types) on your collar or earphone ring, which is still too far away to the mouth if you have a green/black switch mechanical keyboard like me. Your friends will keep complaining that your keyboard is really noisy. I came up a solution as shown in the picture. Approximately 2 feet of electrical wire, fold twice and twisted -> a great connection between mic and earphone. As a result, I am able to put the mic very closed to my mouth and only need a 10dB or 0dB microphone boost, which dramatically reduces the keyboard noise.

I am not even joking this is the best Mic I have used for semi professional work. I regret spending money on a fancy Rode one to hook to my Pixel 2 for filming for YouTube. This works so well and is not a toy at all. I love it. I used Open Camera app and it worked fine. I bought two and a Y splitter as well to pick up two people. The customer service was great. Even before it arrived they were emailing me with tips and tricks to get the most out of it. Classy for sure

I don't have a lot of money to spend on things like this, but I took a chance at this low-cost Mic because I needed to do some quick voiceover work for a previous client, but my computer was stolen, and all I have left is an iPad Mini 4. Absolutely amazing crisp sound, and NO background noise! With my expensive Snoball microphone I always have to run the silence filter over the file to get rid of the background fuzz or hum, but with this, replacing "silence" in a supposedly silent area is virtually undetectable unless you're really getting down into the nitty-gritty with an audio "magnifying glass". ( I always record in a dead room) Thank you for saving me time by eliminating a lengthy filtering step! As my mother used to say, "it'll never be noticed on a galloping horse" I did not need the adapter for the iPad, and I sure hope I don't lose it in case I ever buy a phone or replace my computer.

Really quality product with quality sound. The clip was broken upon receipt, and after a quick back and forth email was sent a new one. Couldn't be happier with the customer service and quality of this mic. I use it for YouTube videos. Just plugged into iPhone with a free audio recording app. Blocks out white noise and picks up speech really well.

I picked these up just hoping to have something working quickly and efficiently to record audio in the "field" with random quick interviews of strangers. I was so pleased that they worked fantastic. The sound quality was crisp and crackle free, and did not seem to pick up an excessive amount of background noise. Their small size tucks away in my purse, and I can attach them (via an adaptor that includes headphone jack) to my cell phone and be recording in about 2 minutes. The long cord is really helpful. Overall I am really glad that this was the microphone I decided to give a try first.

If you're plugging directly into your motherboard you'll probably have to raise the 'microphone boost' in your audio driver +10db if it's by your mouth or +20db if it's down by your chest. Messing with the 'mic boost' seems normal for these standalone mics, had to do the same with my Zalman Zm-Mic1. The Aufgeld's voice quality is noticeably clearer than the Zalman I had before and the audio clipping when I laugh (or yell) isn't as prevalent. If you're looking for something to use while you're on Discord or Skype or w/e VOIP you use while gaming, I'd recommend this. You can look up reviews on YT and see how low quality and tinny the mics on sub $100 "Gaming Headsets" are compared to this $10 one. If you don't want to break the bank, you can pair this Aufgeld mic with the Superlux HD 681 headphones and have a decent audio set up at $45 or the Tascam TH-02s instead and be at $30. 10 bucks for the mic and adapter is more than a fair price imo.
